The Call of Duty Championship has just recently been announced being perhaps the biggest Call of Duty tournament in the 2013 calendar with a prize pool worth 1,000,000 USD, with the tournament being presented by Xbox its likely going to be one of the best Call of Duty events this year.  With the Championships taking place on April 5th - 7th, 2013 in Hollywood, California, Teams have the chance to participate by enlisting in the Call of Duty Championship 2013 World League Champions Series Online Qualifying Contest.

Rules and qualification:

The tournament structure will feature 8 pools of 4 teams with the top 2 teams from each advancing onto a 16 team double-elimination bracket. The ruleset which the tournament has also been released, the rules followed will be the same as the league play championship series rules.

You may also be thinking, 'Great, how do I qualify?'. First of all, you must be over 18 years of age to even be eligible for the championship. If you meet this requirement and are from the United States you can qualify by being one of the top 8 teams in master league season 3. If you are a North American, you may also qualify by placing top 8 at the MLG Winter Championship (Dallas, TX - March 15-17). If you are European, you must place top 8 teams at ESL's European finals in Cologne. (Cologne, Germany - March 16-17)

Cool how it's working with MLG for the qualifiers. But, other than that, meh.

Yeah it's a bummer for EU teams though, only one team from each country can qualify. Whereas to the last XP event numerous teams from Europe attended.

To be honest the NA teams are a lot stronger than most of the EU teams

You can't really say that as the two nations haven't had a real opportunity to compete at a LAN together for Black Ops 2. Just wait, you'll be surprised what EU teams can do.

for example EGL for all of MW3. Only reason OpTic got 2nd at the last one is because they didn't scrim much before.

and OpTic did'nt get a chance to familiarise with the ruleset and maps.

Pretty annoyed with the way this works alot of top UK players have just been joining a three with say some other countries because they know it will be easier for them to qualify , 1 spot to a UK team where as NA have atleast 16 think that is abit unfair cant really call it a world championship. And you cant really say that Na teams are far better than the EU teams it was only Optic who dominated events the two events where we seen FeaR come over and EGL8 where nV, LvG, etc came over they far from dominated the event.

It is hard to be like this but, any top 4 team from the US can beat the best teams in the UK. Talent is where the money is. For example, the Worst BPL team or even npower team can destroy any MLS team. Also you have to look at population. America probably makes up 60%+ of active players on Black Ops 2.

EU teams have talent and money, hence why Fariko have got an American team. All the the other talented teams in the US are already under representation of orgs. But if they left for any reason, an EU org could easily acquire their signature.

I'm quite curious on how all of this will work out, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a brand new team on the scene that most people haven't heard of surprise some of the US pro teams.

The finals were amazingly close. I really thought EnVyUs had it in the bag, but I'm really happy to see Fariko Impact take the win. Seriously a close fucking game. Quite the nailbiter.
