    Hey all,

With the announcement of patch 2.1.0 for Diablo III (found here: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/14569138?utm_content=external-sso&utm_medium=other&utm_source=App), vVv Gaming's Diablo III is in a better situation to implement our vision and start making progress towards what we consider a successful competitive Diablo III Clan should be.

Our vision for the Diablo III Clan is one in which we have 150 members, the maximum size supported by Diablo III's clan system at the moment, who are competitive and competing on leaderboards. However, this clan will also have a larger community with them, supported by the Diablo III Community System, something I will explain a little more in depth later in this announcement. If you are confused right now, please keep reading and it will be clear.

    Clans
The clan system in Diablo III right now is, in fact, quite limited. That being said here is a couple things they do offer:

Group Chat Clan Tag Automatic News Sharing of Legendary Items Mini Message Boards (NOT FORUMS) 150 Member Roster Slots
While these are great there are a couple things that would be nice to see that have not been incorporated yet, chief among them some type of clan stash/gold tab (similar to WoW). However, despite the lack of those the clan system does provide a Clan tag for players to display who they represent! Because of this these members should be ones that will be well-known and competitive, as it allows for the most visibility within the Diablo III Community! We believe that this clan should be the 150 members who will best represent vVv Gaming on the Diablo III Ranked Leaderboards.

    Communities

Communities are essentially the same thing as clans but with a couple key differences:
No Clan Tag No Automatic Sharing of Legendary Items Much larger Roster Space compared to clans
Due to these reasons, we believe that the vVv Community should house a majority of our players, especially those who are more casual. This allows people who still want to hang out and be a part of vVv to participate on a larger scale, as well as meet a ton of new people. Also, often times it is the casual players who find new strategies and builds since they aren't taking things as seriously.

    Implementing the Vision
As we move closer to ladders we will be moving forward in implementing our vision in a variety of ways.
First: New Members that are recruited to the clan will be those who are going to be active, potentially competitors on the leaderboards, and by extension, using mumble. It is extremely difficult to compete on a high level without voice communication and even harder to provide value to vVv Gaming by constantly going out on your own.

Second: We will be going through our current members that are in the clan and judging interest in those who are interested in competing on leaderboards and those who will be consistently active. For those who are full vVv Members, but somewhat absent from Diablo III due to other games or personal issues, we will ask if they would be willing to move to the vVv Community, thus freeing up space in the clan for more active players. For those who are not full vVv Members we will be doing the same thing, even if they are active, again to free up space for people who are going to be more competitive and get better visibility in the community.

Third: We will be starting to run timed runs for various parts of the Diablo 3 Gameplay that Blizzard said will impact the leaderboards. This includes things like:
0-70 Runs T1 Rift Runs Group Runs Farming Runs Party Compositions
The times and members running these timed runs will be announced when I get back from vacation at the end of the week.

Conflict (ex-vVv) got a reaction from vVv LordJerith in Diablo III Weekly Builds: Week 3
    Week 3 - Berkthigar
    Class - Crusader
    Build Type: Basic Crusader Build
    Special Gear Needed:
    None

    Description:
A strong starter build for all those looking to get there feet wet in the newest addition to the champion lineup. Though it is a beginner build it holds up well and is only enhanced by specialized gear. Items such as Justinian's Mercy and The Final Witness make this build even more fun and potent. Fire up some Creed and let's get nostalgic for the Hammerdin.

    Special Gear Needed:
Sockets.  Finery only works with sockets in your gear. Though not required, any item that can provide lightning damage or Blessed Hammer damage will go a long way. Cooldown reduction can also be rather useful for most crusader builds.

    Skills:

Left click - Justice(Burst):  This wrath generator was picked for several reasons. Being ranged it offers great versatility from pulling mobs to getting the last couple hits on that pesky runner. Burst adds both splash AoE and stun.  Lastly it is amplified by the passive Blunt.

Right click - Blessed Hammer(Thunderstruck):  Your primary source of damage. Blessed Hammer is maximized by grouping enemies in a cluster and putting the hammers down. The Thunderstruck rune helps greatly by creating an arc between you and the point at which you put down your hammers. This is crucial when you are either on the move clearing quickly or having to deal with mob mechanics.

Shield Glare(Divine Verdict) - Both damage enhancement and crowd control. Shield Glare should be used while several hammers are in motion to get the most out of the 20% damage increase. It can be used to interrupt heavy hits and to buy time to evade damage. Given it's relatively short cooldown this ability can and should be used often.

Provoke(Charged Up) - Though Provoke is intended as a taunt, here it is used mostly for the added damage provided by Charged Up. Use this ability as frequently as cool down will allow.

Laws of Valor(Unstoppable Force) - Passively, the increased attack speed is a great dps booster. Activating with Unstoppable Force lets you go crazy with those hammers like the Cheese Whiz.

Akarat's Champion(Prophet) - No matter the build Akarat's Champion is a must have for any respectable defender of the light. A long cooldown means this should be saved for elite and champ packs. Prophet makes you quite resilient. As your gear improves and the tankiness of this rune becomes less necessary Hasterful is a great alternative.

    Passives:

Fervor - Attack speed and cooldown reduction for using a one-handed weapon. Fervor can't be passed up. Unless of course you find a good two-hander, at which point you would trade this in for Heavenly Strength.

Holy Cause - 10% weapon damage and healing from holy damage. Despite the fact this build uses no holy damage the dps increase of this passive is essential for any build.

Blunt - 20% damage to both your attacks..... DUH!

Finery - Only useful if you have sockets in your gear. ( ...and you so should!) This is the place in the build where you can make changes to suit your needs. Those who just hit 70 may not have the sockets to make this viable. In that case, or if you find wrath to be an issue, I suggest picking up Righteousness instead. If survivability is an issue Wrathful or Vigilant work nicely.

Brief gameplay video simply demonstrating the basics of the build. No Commentary.

Conflict (ex-vVv) got a reaction from B Easy in Diablo III Weekly Builds: Week 1
As the Diablo III Division goes forward we will be bringing you a continuous series that focuses on various builds for characters. These builds will come from members within our Diablo III Community! This is designed to share information and try out new fun builds! We hope that everyone enjoys and follows this new series!

    Week 1 - Zeppelin
    Class - Barbarian
Build Name - Ranged Barbarian Build
Required Legendaries - The Three Hundredth Spear or +% DMG Ancient Spear or +%DMG Weapon Throw

    http://www.vvv-gaming.com/forum/gallery/image/14305-300th/
Summary: A mid to long range Barbarian build that can do massive critical strikes and great area of affect damage. With good fury spenders and healing off of that mechanic, there is good survivability here. Great for chasing down 'runners' (goblins, ghosts, scavengers, shamans).

    Skills:

    http://www.vvv-gaming.com/forum/gallery/image/14306-bouldertossbarb/

Left-Click - For the left click, Weapon throw with Ricochet is the best option. The additional damage from The Three Hundredth spear makes the damage from this particular skill quite nice. The ricochet allows for more area of effect damage and initiation from range.

Right-Click - The right click in this build is the bread and butter of the build, and the namesake: Ancient Spear with Boulder Toss. This skill can do massive damage, upwards to 65 million damage per cast. The amount of fury spent has synergy with your other skills such as Bloodthirst and Avalanche.

    1. Ground Stomp w/ Wrenching Smash - This skill helps set up your skills and pull enemies into a specific area. The added CC from the stun is also very helpful for creating a sure-fire way to hit your Area of Effect spells. If the Wrenching Smash rune is not to your liking Zeppelin recommends the following runes
Back-up: Ground Stomp w/ Foot of the Mountain - This rune simply provides more fury generation so you can boulder toss more.
Back-up: Ground Stomp w/ Jarring Slam - With the relative lack of healing outside of your passive and revenge, this skill can cause more health globes to drop and provide more healing.

    2. War Cry w/ Impunity - War Cry allows survivability so you can focus more on damage in your gear and still stay tanky. However if you have an over abundance of toughness Zeppelin recommends switching to Battle Rage to get more damage.
Back-up: Battle Rage w/ Swords to Ploughshares - The alternative to War Cry, Battle Rage allows you to put out more damage at the
    opportunity cost of some toughness

    3. Revenge w/ Blood Law - Especially effective against large packs, Revenge can provide a sustained amount of damage and healing that scales nicely with the amount of enemies in range.
Back-up: Revenge w/ Provocation - Provocation allows you to store one additional charge which means you will lose out less on potential Revenge stacks during large pulls.

    4. Avalanche w/ Lahar - Avalanche is your secondary Area of Effect spell and synergizes nicely with Boulder Toss. With the amount of fury Boulder Toss uses, the cooldown on Avalanche is reduced by about 25% from that synergy alone. Factoring in the natural cooldown Avalanche can be available quite frequently.

    Passives:
    P1 -  Tough As Nails
    P2 -  Nerves of Steel
    P3 - Superstition
    P4 - Bloodthirst

Tough As Nails, Nerves of Steel, and superstition all add to the tankiness of this build even more. This allows for more damage in the actually gearing once more. Bloodthirst allows you to get a lot of healing back from the amount of fury you spend.

    Execution:
This build is very efficient and great at clearing out areas with high mob density. The main combination that you will use during your farming and clearing is as follows:

Ground Stomp > Avalanche > Boulder Toss

This strategy is pretty static throughout any bosses you are fighting whether it is normal packs, elites, and champions. The amount of damage being put it treats everything with the same relative indifference. However - if you know you will be facing a single boss (Rakanoth, Diablo, Malthael, etc) you can change your Ricochet Rune for a balanced weapon throw for more single target damage.

    Notes:
Percentage of skill damage is soft capped at 50%. What this means is that after 50% there is a value of diminishing returns and each percentage points will not be as effective.
This is the way that Zeppelin plays this build. Everyone is encouraged to play around with the build and find what works best for them!

    Conclusion:
Thanks again to Zeppelin for sharing this build and thanks in advance to everyone who reads this and finds this helpful!

Conflict (ex-vVv) got a reaction from jiggy in vVv Diablo III Community Game Night - Week 5 Recap
Entering into our fifth week of community game nights for Diablo III we actually had a fairly low turnout, but a lot of good information and fun came from this week. One of our softcore groups decided to try a new group farming system that seemed to work out well, generating a lot of Rift Fragments and items!     Softcore Group 1
    Invictus - Witch Doctor
    Bug - Witch Doctor
    Razzels - Barbarian
    vVv Jiggy - Monk
    Jabwm - Monk

This group simply focused on farming end game content, getting about 2 hours of gameplay in.

    Softcore Group 2
    Zeppelin - Barbarian
    Berkthigar - Barbarian
    Clevell - Demon Hunter
    Berserkzombie - Barbarian

Group #2 Focused on trying out a new party farming strategy which revolved around 2 people doing a rift, while the other two did bounties. The experiment seemed to be a success with about 200 total rift shards being collected about 2 hours along with quite a few legendaries

Thanks to everyone who showed up this week and I hope to see everyone and more there next week, Wednesday at 9 PM EST
