Voison reacted to Blazek in [Overwatch] Developer Update | Popular Community Topics
While i wasn't really bothered if new characters or maps would cost anything (not a big fan of it but it is pretty standard in the market today), i believe this is probably best overall; second only to doing large scale "expansions" every 1-2 years. The main reason i say this is that when you start charging for additional content (specifically in an online only game) and put it out at a more rapid pace (ie: every 3-6 months) you start to segment the community. While i think Overwatch will do just fine for some time, other games such as Evolve and Titanfall dwindled quite rapidly, and their DLC model made it so that the pool of players people could game with grew even smaller.

Long story short:
You can bring your friends at next event and be on the same team If you don't have a team you will form a team at the event Bring your friends, we want to grow this event! If you have feedback, please send me a pm and lets work on improving the event together! If you want to help, let me know, I could use help around the event. Plenty needs doing and I have a lot of ideas that I want to make happen. As of next event, we will be doing 3vs3 in-house double elimination tournament.
Our weekly Rocket League Community Game Nights are going to be changing and adapting over time to improve the event and the experience that we all get through it. Last couple of events we organized in house tournaments and they were a lot of fun. We have played 2vs2 tournaments with double elimination bracket. Needles to say, we want to do it again, however we also want to improve the event.
One of the feedbacks I have received that I believe will have a major role in shaping this event is who we get to play with. Majority of the people that I have gathered this feedback from wanted to be able to pick their own partners for several reasons. Some of the being is that the event will be more competitive. It will allow you to build up team work, it will allow you to improve your game by being able to understand how your team will play and what you are expected to do in return. As such this is what we will experiment with over the next week.
On Tuesday night you can show up for the event with a pre-made team. This will be a 3vs3 in-house tournament double elimination style. Should you not have a team, you should still come for the event, among the players that do not have a pre-made team, they will be able to form a team on the spot and play together. This is a good opportunity to meet some new people and who knows, you might even like them enough to play with them again at the next event!
Having said all that, there will be no sign ups ahead. This event is going to grow over time and improve but I do not wish to make too many changes at once and risk losing the fun aspect. We will take it slow with a change at a time and see how it works out for us and whether we like the change or not. If you have any feedback you wish to provide to me or have any suggestions you wish to make, please reach out to me via these forums in a private pm and I will ensure to take all your feedback into consideration.
See you all on Tuesday at 9:00 pm EST and lets have another night of crazy fun, and remember, don't drink and drive; unless its Rocket League!

Thanks for taking the time to read my first official update since I've come back. After a lot of conversations with staff, community, sponsors, applicants and alumni, it was time to set a direction for vVv for the next 12 months. We want to be transparent with everyone, so you can hold me accountable for working toward these goals. This reflects our commitment to help YOU create awesome community experiences.
When I give interviews, I make sure every member knows: "Ask not what vVv can do for you, but what you can do for vVv." As I stated above, vVv Gaming is YOUR community. Staff is here to help YOU make it awesome. Once again, this is YOUR community. We're here to help YOU shape, develop and grow vVv.
We've made numerous changes to staff. EXECUTION AND TACTICS
We now know where this big vVv Gaming ship is headed. We all know the mission. We know the objectives and goals we want to achieve, and we have strategies that tell us how to achieve these goals. This is actually the easy part. Now comes the hard part.
Each of the strategic items above will need executions and tactics. EXECUTIONS are what is done to deliver on or to coordinate a strategy. EXECUTIONS are products and services and experiences we deliver to help us execute our strategy that will help us achieve our goals to accomplish our mission. TACTICS are actions taken to achieve our strategy.
For example, the League of Legends Amateur Draft League (LoL ADL) is an EXECUTION (Product/Service) that helps us achieve our strategic objective of “create and run organized play events for competitive gamers.” How we set up the Mumble channels and how we name them are TACTICS.
As a vVv community member or applicant your EXECUTIONS should include: Recruiting good community members Engaging with applicants Supporting vVv on social media (Facebook) (Twitter) Being active in our forums, shoutbox & Mumble/XBL/ PS4 I hope this post helps everyone know who is accountable for what, and what we are focused on. I would love and appreciate any feedback, thoughts and/or suggestions. It's YOUR community, we're here to help YOU make it awesome.
Voison reacted to Muhdewsa in What YOU can do to bring players to the LoL ADL!
I just wanted to make a quick post about what everyone can do to participate in bringing people to the ADL!
The ADL Staff determines the quality of the event by:
If every game was competitive If everyone had a good time If these two requirements are met, we determine that night of the ADL to be a success. We aren't looking to have the biggest event, we're just looking to have the best quality event.
...BUT some feedback has been coming our way that people have more fun and feel the event is more competitive when there are more people to have for teams, more people to play against, and everyone has a higher skill level.
Because we want to see you happy and having a good time, here are a few small things everyone can do that would have a huge impact on the ADL's numbers:
Write about your experience of playing in the ADL here: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/team-recruitment/WZ9tYXBc-tired-of-playing-alone-vvv-gaming-announces-amateur-draft-league-season-6 This is our post for Season 6 of the ADL on the League of Legends forums. If it keeps being bumped by posts of people's experiences and how much fun they had at the ADL, then more people will see the post, therefore we'll have more people attending! Add awesome people from games you play and invite everyone you know to the event! The BEST way to advertise events and getting new people to show up is by word of mouth! If my super awesome friend I've had for a few months or a really good and nice player from Solo Queue/Normals/ARAMs tells me about an event I should come to because it's awesome, why would I not show up? They can also bring in friends that they were already playing with and can request for them to be on their team!
Just message people about an hour before the event starts so you can....
Share our official ADL Post to give them all the details: http://www.vvv-gaming.com/forum/topic/71870-lol-adl-season-6-rules-and-details-thread/ This way, when you're telling your friends about the event, they have all the details right here! Inside this post is a link to download/set up TeamSpeak, who to contact for questions, what time the event starts, information about how the event works, absolutely everything you could need! Make sure to Tweet on Twitter and Share on Facebook! There are buttons at the bottom of this page for easy tweeting/sharing or you can go to our Facebook (and like it if you haven't already) and share from there, or go to our Twitter (and follow!) and RT/Favorite! Posting on Reddit and getting put onto the Riot Event's Board are a few things that us as Staff can do for you, but are you taking part in everything else with us? It takes effort from everyone (Members, Applicants, Non-Applicant Attendees, AND Staff!) to have the best competitive League of Legends event!

Welcome to Overwatch™ Soldiers. Scientists. Adventurers. Oddities. In a time of global crisis, an international task force of heroes banded together to restore peace to a war-torn world: OVERWATCH. It ended the crisis and helped to maintain peace in the decades that followed, inspiring an era of exploration, innovation, and discovery. But after many years, Overwatch's influence waned, and it was eventually disbanded. Overwatch is gone… but the world still needs heroes.
Choose A Hero
Overwatch features a wide array of unique heroes, ranging from a time-jumping adventurer, to an armored, rocket-hammer-wielding warrior, to a transcendent robot monk. Every hero plays differently, and mastering their abilities is the key to unlocking their potential. No two heroes are the same.

More heroes will be added overtime.
Play Your Role
Whether you're engaging in combat on the front line, providing defensive cover with your energy shield, or supporting your allies by amplifying their damage, every hero's abilities are designed to be effective as part of a team. Learning to utilize your abilities in concert with your teammates' is the key to victory.
Teams of heroes do battle across the planet. From protecting the secrets of the mysterious Temple of Anubis, to safely escorting an EMP device through King's Row, the world is your battlefield.
PAYLOAD The attacking team's objective is to move the payload to a delivery point, while the defenders must halt the attackers' progress until time runs out.
POINT CAPTURE Two teams battle over control of the map, one team on offense, the other on defense. The attackers' goal is to capture critical objectives, while the defenders must maintain control over them until time runs out.
