vVv LordJerith reacted to vVv OrganicBear in LoL ADL Season 6 Rules and Details Thread
Why hello there! We’re super excited to be bringing you the Sixth Season of our Amateur Draft League! Last season we have had some intense matches, especially with Riot releasing so many key patches and meta-shifting reworks to the Fields of Justice. We also introduced our ADL Look Up page, so you could keep track of your stats to make sure you're consistently beating out and rising above the competition. Other small (but pretty awesome) things that were introduced were our Theme Nights and the EPIC Trash Talk Thread! Even though Season 5 was a great ride for many (especially vVv ShySlushy and Sun Down...), and not so great for very few (looking at all the Shaco bans, Joxn!), we're keeping our eyes forward to bring you an even better Sixth Season!

Changes based on your suggestions: We have dropped Tuesdays. The ADL will now be every Sunday and Friday at 9pm EST (6pm PST), starting on July 26th and will continue to September 20th. Removed MVP voting. It was brought to our attention that while it may have been an "okay" way to recognize players from the winning team, it was extremely ineffective for the losing team. Instead, it will be strongly encouraged to recognize any players who make a large impact on the outcome of the game, who are strong shot callers, etc. This can apply to both winning and losing teams and feedback will continue as normal. New Champion Tier and Challenger Tier. The first 4 weeks of the ADL will be exactly like before to let our ADL ELO stabilize. At the beginning of Week 5, we will have the top 20 highest rated players (based on ADL ELO) play against each other in a separate draft called "Champion Tier", while the remaining players play as normal in another draft called the "Challenger Tier". People originally placed in the Champion Tier can fall out if they lose too much ADL ELO, and people in the Challenger Tier can move into the Champion Tier if they win enough ADL ELO. People who win/lose games while in Champion Tier will have points recorded COMPLETELY SEPARATE from their ADL ELO. At the end of the season, the Top 20 players as determined by Champion Tier points will compete in a separate 20-man tournament to determine the 1st through 4th place Riot prizing. More detailed information about the intricacies of the Champion Tier can be found below in the Spoiler. Adjustments to captain selection It has come to our attention that minor differences in rank can lead to a consistent disadvantage for captains if they are constantly forced into a last-pick position against similarly ranked opponents. As a result we will be randomizing captains within the following tiers: Plat 5-3, Plat 1 and 2, Diamond 5-3, Diamond 2-1 <50 LP, Diamond 1 >= 50 LP, Master, Challenger All-Star matches. If there is enough interest in playing/watching the All-Star games, we will have them! These matches will likely be voluntary games with participants voted on by all of you lovely people

      How to participate:
Join our TeamSpeak server (How to Setup TeamSpeak) and hop in the "League of Legends ADL" room. Make sure you join the "vVv ADL" channel in the LoL Game Client AT OR BEFORE THE START TIME. Once on TeamSpeak, all participants should right click their name, click "Edit Description" and include: Current Solo Q rank, Summoner Name, and preferred roles (ex. Top>Mid>Jungle>ADC>Support). THAT'S IT! Hang out in the "League of Legends ADL" room, chat with other people, and wait for a staff member's instruction. TeamSpeak Server: ts65.gameservers.com:9222

    Official ADL Rules:

Please take the time to read and familiarize yourself with the above rules! You are expected to know the rules before you join TeamSpeak and participate!!!

Are you excited for Season 6? Do you have any predictions for who will be some of the first people in the Champion Tier? Are there any people you're excited to play against and see if they have any new picks? Let us know! See you in TeamSpeak on Sunday, July 26th at 9pm EST!

If you have questions, concerns, comments, or suggestions please contact any of the below ADL Staff members and they would be happy to assist you!

I believe, and I am asking you to tell me if I am wrong, that what you want is: a place that is fun and feels like your home a place where everyone knows you and accepts you fun events that allow you play with others the vVv tag to mean something. You want members who: are active and social in game on mumble on the forums invested in the success of applicants make others feel welcome recruit others to play with and help the division grow support vVv on social media enjoy competition, but are not trying to go pro Assuming the above is true, then I am making the following changes to the division: Bringing back vVv C Wide to run the vVv LoL Division ADLs will be overseen by its own product manager, vVv NaturaL vVv Medusa vVv Unverclopt and vVv SugarBear will be handling applicants and running the LoL ADL

I invite those of you who strayed away to give us a chance to make it better.  Please reach out to vVv C Wide or myself, personally, if you have any questions or concerns. It's going to take some time to rebuild our credibility with some of you, but everyone mentioned above and myself are willing to put in that work.

My Dad and I visited the Intrepid Yesterday in New York. Historical aircraft carrier and was in action from the end of World War 2 into the start of Vietnam. A few of the original crewman still work for the ship as her tour guides and answer any questions people have. In the spirit of World of Warships I asked them about placement and strategies. Learned a lot from those gentlemen. Was also a very fun adventure.

    Name:
Kenny 'Voison' Gordon (Old vVv name was Volcom).   Age:
26   Location: North Carolina (Was in Illinois for 26 years though!)   Summoner Name: Voison   What is your current division in Ranked?
Currently still in placements. 2-3 so far... Damn feeders. I was silver awhile ago and Bronze before that. We'll see.   How long have you been playing ranked?
Since season 2, but I've taken long breaks from ranked and LoL off and on.    What rank were you at the start of last season?
I was not ranked last season, due to taking a break from ranked.   What rank were you at the end of last season? Wasn't ranked.
What is your favorite champion and role? Why?
As of right now I'm really liking Ekko. Why? Well because he's a lot of fun and has a lot of potential to be a great champ, if played right of course. He can play in mid, top, or even jungle if you get hard leashes at the start. He CC and jump skill can be very deadly when ganking or pushing a lane.

I also really enjoy Support Morgana or Sona. When I have to play a support role, I normally pick one of these due to being familiar with and comfortable with. Wards... MOAR WARDS!   How did you hear about vVv Gaming? Were you referred to the site? If so, by whom?
I was referred back in the Gears of Wars days. I think it was actually a fake member I faced in a ranked match. It was so long ago I honestly don't remember the name. Back in my day red was Gears of War and Orange was UT3 or Rainbow Six, you young whippersnappers!
Who do you currently know in vVv Gaming? How do you know them?
I know plenty of people. Jerry, Jordan, Rob, Sugar Bear, JayC, Blazek, Shadow, Buzz, Lithium, Biscuit (You spell it wrong!), etc. I've seen so many awesome people come and go though. (Sorry if I left any names out. Was around for many years)
What are your hobbies and interests outside of gaming?
I really enjoy watching movies and listening to music (who doesn't though). I use to love to draw and mess around in photoshop, but I have been extremely lazy the past few months. My tablet is collecting dust. Since moving to North Carolina, I honestly love just going out for walks or long car rides. Moving from flat corn fields of Illinois to the mountains is a huge change!
Have you ever been banned or chat-restricted in-game? If so, why?
I have sadly been banned before. I use to rage a lot. I was also extremely unhappy with life etc then so that didn't help with I got bad teammates in a game with me.

When you play LoL, do you primarily play to win and improve, or do you primarily play to have fun and don't care much about learning or winning?
I play to win and to learn from my mistakes. But at the same time I also play to have fun. I have more fun winning though. I would love to get better in ranked to at least get back to Silver or even lower gold. Who knows, I could maybe hit Diamond someday in the future when the game is dead.
Have you ever competed in online or LAN tournaments for any game?
I've competed in some online tournaments before for some games. Nothing major or groundbreaking though. I've always wanted to but either didn't have time, funds, or find people to compete with.
Have you attended any national events? (PAX, LCS, IEM, etc.)
I have no, but I've always wanted too. This question applies to the answer above as well. Either funds, time, or people always seem to hold be back from going to events. I mostly just watch events on twitch now. Oh twitch, whatever would we do without you?!
What type of organization are you looking to join? What would the ideal environment look like for you? I'm honestly looking for an organization that can fit my needs... (Isn't everyone?) Basically I want to find a place where I can fit in and always find someone or something to talk to.  (Yes office plant #2, faker is really good). I want a place where I can either feel good about winning and not be afraid to lose sometimes. Failure only makes us stronger and I hope my teammates will help me brush off my knees and help me figure out what I did wrong. Not saying people are forced to do it, but it helps in the long run if teammates help each other. I wanna be in an organization that doesn't cater to the elitist but still has some elitist traits to them. I don't want people to hold my hand through everything but at the same time I want someone who will push me to achieve something great. That can either be Diamond in HotS MMR or simply being apart of a competitive team.    I understand what vVv does for the eSports scene. They aren't Fnatic, T1, TSM, NiP, etc. This isn't a complaint or to be taken offensively, I think most people reading my app will understand what I'm babbling on about... I hope. vVv helps push amateurs into the scene. I've seen plenty of people go from Silver and Gold and be revamped into top ranking players. Sure they will pick up pro players from time to time, they still help them grow and mold into real competitors. Hell, look at me for an example. I use to be some punk who just wall bounced and trash talked all day in Gears of War 1 ranked games (Oh Warzone... I miss you). I've pretty much matured and learned a lot thanks to vVv and everyone of its members... Except buzz (j/k).   Yes, I have left vVv a few times and even been banned a few times too. Remember that part where I said I matured? Yeah, that was all part of it. I should probably stop at some point... RIGHT MEOW!

If anyone has anymore questions, concerns, or just want to say hi please feel free to do so. I honestly enjoy posting on forums, so the more you people post on my application, the more I can post! (Do it... I'm so bored)

    A few suggestions:
TRY a Hero before you take it into a real game Inside the Shop menu use the "TRY" button BEFORE you take the hero into game.  Learn the abilities of all the Heroes. I know it's a bit of studying but knowing what Heroes can do and what CC (Crowd Control) abilities they have at their disposal (Stuns, roots, slows, etc.) can help you make better decisions when fighting In game: use the TAB button to look at what talents and Heroic abilities the enemies took. It really makes a difference. Mini Map is key Use your peripherals and be aware of: where your teammates, enemies , objectives up and watch for pings. Communicate with your Team (PINGS! PINGS! PINGS!) Read team chat and watch for pings. There is a smart ping system in place and you should use it. Enemies pushing your lane and you're alone use the "Assist Me" ping. Notice a big wave heading towards your base then use the "Defend Ping" Let your team know where you are going with the "On My Way" ping.  Use the "Danger" ping to warn of enemy locations on the map. Know the Kill Order Kill the high damage "squishies" (low armor or hp, but high damage) first in team fights. Do NOT focus the Tanks! They may be all up in your face, but they have a squishy ranged Hero behind them shooting over that tank's shoulder that is doing far more damage then that tank. Learn When to Engage and When to Back-Off If there are more enemies than allies nearby, you will most likely lose. Back up and wait for backup. Do NOT run into a situation that you know will cause your death just for THE CHANCE to 'maybe' pick off a low health fleeing enemy. If your team comp can straight up NOT handle theirs in teamfights, then you continually engage in said teamfights expecting a different result other than your whole teams gruesome death is the very definition of insanity. You can still win if your team can't teamfight. Take Mercs or objectives! Do NOT Just Sit in a Lane all Game and Push (But please Lane in the beginning!) 90% of your gameplay will NOT be in a lane farming (you will farm in the beginning, but less than other games). This game has a big emphasis on pushing lanes but the map objectives and Mercs will do a better job pushing a lane than you will by yourself. Don't go Alone Stay with your team as often as possible. You can branch off to take objectives but during the 2nd half of the game rolling with your team can steamroll the opposition. If you are a Full Healer stay with someone at all times. Do not try and push a lane back alone, that is NOT your job.  Do NOT engage any enemy who is level 10 and you are not They are level 10. You are level 9. They have Heroic Abilities. You do not. You will not win. Go farm something and avoid fighting them till your team hits level 10 and gets their Heroic Abilities.  The Main Map Objective Comes First. Always. End of discussion. The main map objectives are designed to give one team a large boost of power, damage, or straight up dominance over the other team. GO! GO! GO! MAP Basics
Blackhearts Bay- Collect coins. Turn in if you have alot, otherwise dying and giving them to the other team will be a huge setback. Defend the people turning in the coins to Blackheart. If you know the enemy team has alot of coins (Hit TAB and it will show who all has coins and how many) you can hide in the smoke and ambush the enemy with the coins. Cursed Hollow- Stop what you are doing and everyone move towards the Tribute when it spawns. This is true nearly every time. Haunted Mines- Go in the mines every time! No more Mercs vs Mines. If your team can't win fights then sneak in the mines and take as many of the small skeleton camps as you can. They often have just as many skulls in them as the big golem. Garden of Terror- Collect Seeds, help your Terror push when it is up, protect him! Assist your Terror or it will get wiped by the enemy team before it does any good. Dragonshire- Help cap points, defend statue if enemy controlled, escort the dragon knight same as above with the Plant Terror. -edited heavily, original by Average Adam on Reddit
