Doom beat me to it, but from what I noticed you ran a solid strategy and everything, it just needed to be a bit more decisive I think. WvW is pretty fast-paced, so just be confident with your calls. I believe Doom mentioned at one point that "There is no wrong way to lead this", and I think that's important to keep in mind.
Don't try to replicate exactly what Doom would do - do it your way, and just be confident that people will listen. I'm much more inclined to listen to someone giving a decisive order, than I am if they sound really hesitant. This will come with time as well though.
Your ideas and strategies are all sound, you just need to transition more quickly between things. As soon as one thing is done, you should be calling out what the next thing is. Downtime is bad. It let's people think too much
Also, speak more clearly. You want to make sure you are the voice of leadership. Other people may suggest things. You look, think, decide, tell people what to do. As soon as it's done, start the next thing.
Worst thing that could happen is you wipe. At which point you should tell everyone to respawn and repair armor as though it were all part of your plan and the next step is even more important.
Character name and alias/gamertag for all systems you own: Guild wars 2: Revok League of Legends: TrB Infidel
How did you hear about vVv Gaming? Were you referred to the site? If so, by whom? I saw your recruitment page for SWTOR and i started doing some research into vVv. Havent looked back since.
Who do you know currently in vVv Gaming? How do you know them? vVv Khaela (Jason). Have been playing with him on a day to day basis since i started hanging around the community about 7 or 8 months ago.
Why are you interested in joining vVv Gaming? I've always been an avid gamer. I started out playing games on my dads atari when i was 10 playing River Raid whenever i was home and since then my love for gaming has just grown massively over the years. I went from playing 007 on the N64 to Majora's Mask to anything on the Playstation like Syphon Filer and Metal Gear Solid 2. When i first came to the community i knew i wanted to spend time playing games with people who enjoyed them just as much as me and i'm glad to have found that here. With how my career was in the Army at the time. I just did not have the time to devote to the community like i wanted to. And i knew that it just was not the right time for me to app since i could not perform the things asked of me at the time. But now that i have the free time i would like to commit to gaming i feel it's time to for me to push on to contribute to vVv as much as i possibly can.
Adding value is the most important aspect of being in vVv Gaming. From the following list, you must choose one method of adding value. We will evaluate your application based on how you tell us you're going to add value.
Game Guru (Subject Matter Expert): Quitting is just not my style. In every game i play i push myself to learn and adapt to it as much as possible. From spending countless hours learning outside the box builds to spending days on end leveling classes you have yet to face just to get an understanding of the mechanics and watching countless hours of videos from different POV's to get a better understanding of what your up against. I always try to bring my advice to the table for my team and i walk into matches/games with an open mind so i can find ways to excel even better at what i do. The Army has taught me to push myself in everything i do. And that does not stop here.
Social Media Expert (Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, YouTube): Facebook is my way of communicating with people that i have served with in the past and present also friends and family. I am on Facebook everyday and it's how i stay up to date on my favorite games and what to expect from them in the future.
What games coming out are you looking forward to play and why? Well my biggest anticipation of the year was Guild Wars 2. MMO games have always been my forte as i like to work with others on a day to day basis to push towards an objective in game. I'm far from anti social and i've always tried to be a leader figure in the "pack" at everything i do and help others strive to achieve what we set out as a team to do.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of gaming? I am a huge baseball fan (Reds). I spend a lot of time when i'm at home going to baseball games and to me family and friends mean everything so i dedicate as much time to them as possible. I tend to bar hop more often then i should and i'm a very sociable person. I like to talk to everyone.
What kind of competitive tournament experience do you have? I do not have any open tournament experience. But that is the exact point of me being here today. Im very competitive in everything i do. And i want to add this to my experience in gaming.
Have you attended any national events (MLG, WCG, IPL)? I attended MLG columbus (2010) when i was very into playing halo. Other then that it has been locally organized lans.
What do you hope to achieve, competitively? I believe that i bring a professional and disciplined attitude to the table and with not having a massive amount of competitive background i bring a willingness to learn from those with a history in the competitive scene here and grow off of that. I keep an open mind on everything i learn and i look to push myself as hard as i can to produce results for vVv as a whole.
I'd like to take a second to thank you for taking the time to review my app. And i look forward to seeing you all in game and continuing to see you all around here. I enjoy the fact that i keep meeting someone new here often. Lol
