Shadow (ex-vVv) got a reaction from Vulgar in Former vVv Members and where they are now....
    Hello everyone,

For those of you who do not know me. I was a vVv member from 2012 to 2015, I was a member of the Call of Duty Division, was the Call of Duty Assistant Manager for a point in time, and then left vVv Gaming when the esports efforts were not pushed as much as I would have liked; then I became the Esports Manager for Clan Lucky Strike before it was sold to Operation Supply Drop. After the sell to OSD, I had left CLS to return back to vVv Gaming to become the Business Development Coordinator, before effectively leaving vVv Gaming.

I just recently came back to the vVv Forums after seeing a post about vVv looking to make a return in the esports community. After seeing so many familiar faces in the shoutbox and some of them repping the V's once more, I wanted to make a post to see where all the former vVv Members are at today.

So with that being said..... Former vVv Members, even the ones who just recently got their V's back.... Where are you at today? Do you still game? What do you do for work? What platform do you mainly play on now? Did your time in vVv affect where you are at today? If so, then how?

    I will start....

Where am I at today? Well I am 24 about to turn 25 in March. Since my time in vVv, I have moved out of my parents house and into an apartment with my SO and 2 of our friends, where I have lived for the past 2 years. I have grown a lot since my time in vVv, and hopefully after talking with some old faces, that they can agree to that. I honestly am unsure what else to put here so this will be the last sentence haha.

Do I still Game? Is the sky still blue? If you look at the sun will it make you blind? What type of question is this? Of course I still game. I game as much as I can nowadays which is not as much as I would like to, but that is what having a job and a life gets you.

What platform do I mainly play on now? I mainly play on the PS4, but I do have a perfectly capable gaming PC to play on, but I do not have many people to game with on PC that much. Also I am in the market to buy a NZXT build PC but am currently debating on rather I want to drop 2K now... I also have a Switch to play Smash Brothers on.... Fight me.

What do I do for work? After many years, I was able to turn my passion of gaming and esports into a career, and I am proud to say that I am the Operations Manager for OpTic Gaming now.

Did your time in vVv affect where you are at today? If so, then how? Yes and 1000x again YES!! vVv was my starting point in esports. vVv gave me a platform to learn more about the esports industry, and with the help of Jerry, Doom, and Rob, I was able to take what I learned from vVv to propel me forward into other organizations which inevitably helped me land where I am at today, and honestly if it was not for vVv Gaming, I would not be where I am at today and for that I am forever thankful.

So thats me!! So who will be next to go? I still #BelievVve there are many old faces lurking the forums...

I'm well aware of the problems that's why we removed Legacyyy and I've stepped in to try to guide Bizkit and Natural toward solving them.  But changing the color thing just isn't gonna help.  When we started we tried to make it so that our most skilled members would hold the color and be "gatekeepers" as far as who has the skill necessary to become green, but everyone complained about that.  They formed team evo and aren't even able to accomplish what you're suggesting in terms of rank on Gamebattles.   So ultimately, if our current most skilled members can't even make it to top 25% in gamebattles what does it matter if we set that as the bar for green or what we have currently?

Sad to say, but CoD removed the in-game ranked system so the game is fucked.  That's not our fault, that's the developer and all we can do is try to find some way to measure skill outside of a developer-provided system.  Anything we pick is going to be problematic.  If we pick top 25% on gamebattles then people will complain about that too.  There is no perfect system.  So then why make such a big deal about it?

We might as well just make everyone green again.  But then what's the point of that?  Red, green, they are just colors and don't affect your skill, your accomplishments, your outlook, how much value you add to the community, etc.  If you're wondering why the community isn't the same as what you joined, look at what you could have done to make it better.  Don't focus on empty accomplishments like having us lower the bar so everyone can become green.

I kinda want to clear some things that haven't been cleared in this thread.

MikEvil we are down to Team Scrim anytime to help your team get better and to give feedback.

B Easy, BodyRot asked Breezy if he wanted to play but Breezy declined to team, Body then picked up DJAAYYY, the issue going with that team is since it is Body - Vall - Neptune and DJAAYYY is the fact that they are active enough to make a team, and the people on that team are not all that bad at the game and are getting better by playing.

When most of the reds are not active or are barely on because of outside things, then why should he hinder his team hes trying to make and compensate for others misfortunes? I understand why he does it.

Had the hardest bracket, we are 200$ richer as a team.

Played with Team Mates - vVv Fatal and vVv Crispee - We used Applicant Vall as a fill in for the tournament due to vVv TechShow having plans today as well as vVv BoDYRoTx being busy. She did well, her AR can be worked on DOM and Blitz, but over all did well.

KBreezy - one of the better applicants in game, added value by recording the CGN last night, I feel like he can have a bigger presence on twitter while he is not in vVv and not in the Green division.
SourPretzl - Active in game and active in 8s lobbies, I dont ever see him on Twitter though I believe he doesnt have one, what other ways is he adding value to the community that I may not see?

Sailox - I do not see him in game often but I do see him on Twitter, and I know he personally helped Hype Extinction get to Columbus by helping pay for a lot of the fees without having to. So he is supportive of community teams.
Vall - Extremely active in game, from my knowledge when she gets home from school she plays xbox, which in my opinion isnt a good thing because not that much of a social life, but I know she is active, retweets vVv stuff, Won the Wireless giveaway, just wish she added value in different ways, curious to see how this writing will go for her.

I say wait until after UMG Dallas to make any more final closing on applications. Applicants that have been inactive a lot close them already.

But applicants that have been active or that have been on the borderline of active. Wait until after UMG Dallas.
