It's November! That means it's time to celebrate the wonders of a cooked bird, what we're thankful for, and one of our very own... vVv Tahvvy! Read on to find out why this friendly graphics artist and Call of Duty community member is sure to bring a smile to your face, as well as spur a sudden craving for peanut butter.

    Tell us your name.
    Christopher "Tahvvy" Ferri.

    How old are you, Christopher?
    I'm 19.

Where are you from? Where do you wish you were from?
New Jersey, and there's no other place I'd rather be.

    What's your occupation?
    I'm a freelance graphic designer.

What inspired you to join vVv Gaming and how long have you been a member?
I've been a member for about half a year now, since joining mid-June 2013.

Of the Five Pillars of vVv Gaming, which one speaks to you the most? Why?
Value. I love seeing people trying to help out others & it makes me happy to do the same.

Our community has always prided itself on the diversity of its members. What's something that you feel is unique about yourself?
I'm quite friendly and I tend to crack a lot of jokes. I just like to see people smile. Your happiness is my happiness.

Who, within our community, do you look up to the most?
I look up to vVv Buzz. He has helped me out so much since I was an applicant for vVv. My swag level has been raised to 8,999. He also helps me out with how I design graphics every now and then. Outside of the community, not many people choose to help me out, so when he does, I feel very thankful.

Outside of gaming, what do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy music, graphic design, dancing (alone and out of sight), singing, baseball, basketball & eating peanut butter.

What, in your opinion, has been the most underrated video game of 2013? Which has been the most overrated? Why?
To me, the most underrated has been Ascend: Hand of Kul. It's a really fun game that has a companion app similar to the Call of Duty app for Ghosts. It's a game where you have to keep an eye on your in-game currency or you might break your armor or weapon.
As for what I feel has been an overrated game, I would have to go with Call of Duty: Ghosts. It's a pretty fun game, but after being announced as the official Call of Duty title for MLG this season, it seems that it hasn't made any progress in supporting it. I believe this title can still change to be a good game, to not only play casually and to spectate, but also on a competitive level.

Which professional gaming teams have you looked up to in the past? For which games?
I didn't take much interest in competitive gaming until the Call of Duty Championships in 2013, which is about the time I applied to become a member of vVv. I now watch events online and I'm wanting to go to one soon. During the CoD Champs, I was quite surprised about Fariko Impact because I had never even heard of them and they ended up winning the whole thing.

Black Ops 2 or Ghosts? Why?
As of right now, Black Ops 2. The competitive aspect of the game has been really fun to play and to watch. The only part I've hated is how much a good or bad connection can affect the game for online play. With Ghosts, I get bored after a while when playing alone, which didn't really happen when grinding solo league play on Black Ops 2.

How has being a part of vVv Gaming affected your every day life?
My graphic work has improved. Most of my nights and early morning consist of me either doing a request or trying to learn new techniques with Photoshop. All of my selfies now include my Siberia v2 headset.

This month is about giving thanks. What are you thankful for?
I'm thankful for my dad. Even since my mom left he's kept his cool in the eyes of others & he's the most responsible person I know. He's probably the only one who can be better with numbers than I am. It also makes me feel good that I'm usually the only one able to correctly answer his random logic questions.

    What does the fox say?
"There's a song about my species, have sex with me pls."

What would you do with a lifetime supply of peanut butter?
Make suits for everyone & host a peanut butter party.

Is there anyone you'd like to give a shoutout to?
I'd like to give a shoutout to my main girl, vVv Medusa, for having such beautiful red hair and for hosting the most fun Community Game Night lobbies during her time as a vVv Call of Duty community staff member.
vVv Buzz, for being like a best friend to me.
Bombhor, for still using my overlay I designed for her streams.
vVv Tak, for giving me this amazing Steelseries Siberia v2 headset.
vVv Jiggy, for playing League of Legends with me, even though I'm so bad at it.
vVv Zodyak, for gifting me with Counter Strike: Global Offensive, which I probably won't play again until I get a better build for PC gaming.

If you want, I could make a thread in this topic about it. I wanted to have another meet & greet like we did last year in Columbus (which was a TON of fun and great food ) but not sure how many people would be interested in going. I could talk to you about it tomorrow on Mumble maybe?

Nyx reacted to SaintPariah in Just wanted to say 'Thank you'
I would just like to thank everyone from the LoL division of vVv, the staff members, community members, and all of the applicants, for making the past 2 weeks the best experience I've had with League since I started playing in Beta. When I initially applied here, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was immediately glad that I took the time to apply. vVv is unlike any other community I've joined because you all make everyone feel welcome. It's a rare thing indeed to find a community, as a whole, that is so Canadian with it's friendliness. There hasn't been a night since I applied that I haven't come home eager to log into Mumble to see what people are up to. To see what fun can be had. For instance, joining the in-house game last night, the 16th, with a bonus bet between Overgifted, Chrono, and JayC. That game was easily the most fun I've had in League in a long, long time. I wouldn't have been able to experience that without vVv and the amazing community you all have built here.

My point in all of this is that I'm glad I found this community. It has single-handedly reinvigorated my love of League and my faith in the community. Maybe not the community as a whole, but the majority of it at least. While I'm only an applicant, I feel like a full-fledged member of the community. And even if I don't get accepted as a member, I'm still glad of my experiences here.

    Thank you, vVv.

It's that time of the year to brace ourselves for the cold, the trick-or-treaters, and a peak into the inner-workings of one of our very own. This month, we're taking a glimpse at a talented League of Legends community member to find out what draws him to the insanely popular MOBA and what roll he plays in vVv Gaming. Everyone, meet vVv Anaxamander!           What's your real name? Jacob Szapa   How old are you? 24   Where do you hail from? Green Bay, WI   What's something interesting about the place you live? It's the home of the Green Bay Packers!   How long have you been a member of vVv Gaming? For over two years.   What motivated you to join? My League of Legends team was looking for sponsorship from a gaming organization.   What drew you to the game and what holds your interest with it now? A friend of mine got me into it & I quickly developed an addiction. What keeps me going now is that I simply cannot be as good at any other games.   How did you come up with your name? The name 'Anaxamander' had come up in a high school class. I was playing an MMORPG at the time and, being the nerd that I am, the only thing going through my head at the time was,"That would make a great name for a wizard." I adopted the name on my next character and have used it ever since.     How long have you been gaming? I have been gaming since I was about 11.   What was your first gaming platform?  Sega Genesis.   Do you have competitive experience? What kind? My League of Legends team often scrimmaged pro teams, and won several of those matches. We never did manage to win any major tournaments, but placed high in several online tournaments.   Who or what inspires you? I am inspired by those who have the desire to gain a greater understanding. We need more people that are willing to take risks to uncover lost truths.   Think of the biggest mistake, personal or professional, that you ever made. What was it and what did you learn from it? I regret disbanding my League of Legends team. We were pretty much all in college at the time and decided that playing at a higher level required time that we just couldn't commit to around our school schedules. After reading articles about pro gamers that took big risks in similar situations, I have always wondered where I would be if we would have stuck with it.   You're a PC gamer, so I trust your impartiality. Who will win the console wars? Why? From what I have heard from my console-playing friends, it seems that nobody is crossing sides. What it is going to come down to is which games are available at launch. From that perspective, it is really hard to say. Most of the big titles are cross-platform.   What's the one gaming-related product that you can't live without? I love my Siberia v2 headset. I am on my second one. The cat got the first.     What do you do for a living? I'm a department manager at Menards (a Midwestern chain of home improvement stores).   What are your immediate goals? To pay off my student loans.   What are your long-term goals? To be a part of competitive gaming again.   How do you think vVv Gaming can help you achieve those goals? I don't think vVv is going to be helping me with my student loans, but it is definitely great to be a part of for when I can get back into competitive play. It has kept me interested in League of Legends, and if it wasn't for the occasional in-house match, I would probably only log on once a month to stop the elo decay.   Do you have a favorite quote? "Resolve to serve no more, and you are at once freed. I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over, but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break in pieces." - Étienne de La Boétie   If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? I would live on the West coast. It has a much better ping on a lot of game servers.   Let's get interesting. Someone funds you with unlimited resources and gives you total freedom over creating any game that you want. What kind of game would it be? What would the main characters be like? What would the storyline be like? Be creative! I would make a game where most everything is randomly generated. A dungeon crawler, like Diablo 2. I really thought Diablo 3 would be big and I was gravely disappointed. I need a game to fill that void. The storyline is irelevant; I'd make it all about the gameplay.   In light of recent news, what's your opinion on MLG not featuring League of Legends this year in Columbus? I really don't want to see League of Legends fall off the map. Hopefully, they can rebuild the momentum with this game. I don't anticipate this to be a long term change.   Do you have any ideas for the League of Legends community that you'd like to see come to life? I would really like to see a community team succeed. I know a lot of people have brought teams together. The ambition is there, they just never had the execution quite right.

It's that time of the year to brace ourselves for the cold, the trick-or-treaters, and a peak into the inner-workings of one of our very own.
