    vVv Halo 5 'Clan'

Since Halo 5 was released today, I decided it would be cool to create a clan within Bungie.net for ourselves. Follow this link https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/spartan-companies/vvv gamingand be sure to apply
  2. Justin "vVv Spikemouth69" Saboo was a Halo player, team coach, and podcast co-host during his time with vVv Gaming. Justin "vVv Spikemouth69" representing vVv Gaming at an MLG event in 2010. Spikemouth met with vVv Gaming staff at MLG Orlando 2010 to discuss the possibility of joining the organization as a coach. This quickly became a reality when vVv sponsored the Halo team Active Rush in May of 2010. While coaching under the vVv Gaming banner, Spikemouth and his teams secured multiple top 16 finishes at MLG. Additionally during this time, Justin became a regular contributor to The Loser's Bracket podcast. Spikemouth made a quick impact with vVv Gaming, but left in 2011 when he became a part of Fnatic. Recently, we caught up with Spikemouth to reflect back on his times with vVv Gaming and to find out what he is up to nowadays. vVv Gaming: How did you end up joining Fnatic? FnaticSpike: Back in April of 2011, while still apart of vVv Gaming, the Halo team I had joined began to look into acquiring sponsorships. I ended up reaching out to Fnatic after speaking to another member of their team briefly. After about two weeks of continuous talks with myself and the player manager, we came to agreement that would bring the Halo team Classic to Fnatic. vVv Gaming: What exactly is your position with Fnatic? Tell us about what you do with the organization. FnaticSpike: When I joined Fnatic in May of 2011, I was only the coach of the Halo team that signed onboard. Since that time, on top of being a professional coach, I'm also considered a professional gamer and the team manager of our console team. On the side, I try to help where I can. I've been known to help the management as well as the journalism team when needed. Spikemouth with his team at a recent competitive gaming event. vVv Gaming: After you becoming a part of Fnatic, you were chosen to be a part of Season Two of reality show on YouTube called The Controller. What was that experience like and how were you chosen for the show? FnaticSpike: After growing as not only a player/coach but also as an individual with Fnatic, I began to receive a lot more recognition from the eSports community. I'd heard from Kelly Kelley (Formerly vVv Mrs. Violence) that Bunim and Murray Productions had been holding auditions for season two of their reality show called "The Controller: Medal of Honor Warfighter." I decided to throw my name into the hat and hope for the best. I was shocked when I received a response and a scheduled interview. After a few weeks of interviews, I found out that I'd been chosen to be on the show. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. The day had to come to fly out and I didn't know where I was going. I flew down to Georgia and ended up meeting with Bunim and Murray Productions as well as famous YouTubers Optic Hecz, xJawz, and Faze Temperrr along with four intimidating military guys. We went to our hotel and ended up meeting up with FPS Russia, Paintball Kitty and a few others. At that very moment, as bad as this sounds, I hadn't heard of any of these people. We spent the next few days using FPS Russia's amazing weapons to blow up random stuff. It was my first time ever getting to fire real weaponry. After going through all the live fire challenges, we flew out to LA to film the gaming portion of it where I ended up meeting SlyFoxHound, Syndicat, and Mr. Sark. We did our gaming challenges and unfortunately I came up short in the finals, but none the less, I had an incredible time working with Bunim and Murray, EA, and Machinima on this amazing show. Of all the things I've been able to do in my life and gaming career, this would definitely have to be the best experience I've had. To be recognized by big time companies like Bunim and Murray and Machinima made me realize that all this hard work is finally paying off. The show was also a learning experience. I learned so much about the YouTube industry and I was able to make so many new friends because of this show. The memories will never be forgotten and I'm thankful for being given the opportunity. Justin "Fnatic Spikemouth" Saboo. vVv Gaming: How did your time in vVv Gaming prepare you for Fnatic? What skills did you take with you? FnaticSpike: I learned so much throughout my time with vVv Gaming. If I hadn't learned what I did with vVv, I wouldn't be where I am today. Being able to learn from influential people like LordJerith, Paradise, Doomhammer, etc... Oh and did I mention LordJerith? I don't think one person can move on from vVv Gaming without saying they didn't learn from Jerry. Truthfully, it wasn't just the people I named before that influenced me. The entire vVv Gaming community plays a big part in individual growth. I joined vVv as a business/gaming noob. Throughout my time I took in all the knowledge I could, not only about the gaming but about the industry and business in general. Gaining that knowledge with vVv Gaming helped me join Fnatic. It helped me understand how to grow as an individual. I look back and thank vVv Gaming everyday for what the organization taught me. Spikemouth coaching his Fnatic Halo squad at MLG. vVv Gaming: You recently started focusing more on YouTube content. What kind of content will you be producing? What is next for Spikemouth? FnaticSpike: While I was on set for "The Controller," I learned so much about the YouTube market and industry. We would talk practically the entire time about all things business. At the time, I didn't have a channel and knew nothing about it. I left with so much knowledge that I had decided to start my own channel and work on it full time. I thank everyone on the show for kinda taking me in and teaching me about the YouTube scene, especially Optic Hecz. My channel won't be focused on just one game or topic but actually a wide variety of games. I'm taking a similar approach like famous YouTubers SlyFoxHound, PewDiePie, Syndicate, and others. Why only showcase one game when you can showcase many? Some of the things you'll see soon are games like Halo, CoD, Minecrack... err I mean Minecraft, and Amnesia. I plan on creating video blogs of my everyday life, and travels, and product reviews. The possibilities with my channel are endless and I really want to have my fans and the people that support me play a big part in my channel. I want to bring you all in and be apart of my videos as well as choose the games I play and the things I do. I feel without the support I receive from all of you, none of this would have been possible. What better way to thank all of you then to have you all involved in my content creation? Currently, my channel is quite small as that I've only worked on the channel full time for just under 2 weeks. With consistent content everyday and the support from all of you, there's no way I can fail! For those of you that are interested in checking out my channel, you can find it by clicking this link here. Want to keep up with Justin on social media? Halo night with vVv

Now i know this topic was already started by KakarotKY but i really think that instead of just trying to figure out who's on the forums that can play that we need to set an actual night for this. Now i am willing to host most of these but i would need someone to help me out in case i cannot make it due to work, on the nights that i cannot make it i would like the person who is hosting to have everyone twitter and facebook it this will help spread the word of vVv and hopefully will bring in more members. I will be streaming this so i would like for everyone to follow my stream even non halo players every little bit can help. Now all i need really is for people to post what day would be best for them so i can choose a day to do this. I would like to have the first Halo night by the end of this week so please spread the word of the thread. Any questions just ask me im on here everyday. Thanks guys AnDyB

Name: Dami Adeyemi Age (minimum 16): 15 ( 16 in February, mature for my age( Gamertags (for all systems you own): Xbox GT: whySHIFT Do you have access to a computer and e-mail on a daily basis? Yes sir What are your screen names (all that apply)? (AIM, MSN, Skype, Steam, Xfire) Skype: DimebagDami, I don't use aim Link to your Twitter page (twitter required): Link to your Google+ or Facebook page (at least one required):http://www.facebook....100000858705127 How frequently do you use Facebook, Twitter, Digg and/or Google+? I use facebook and twitter everyday, I've never used Digg and I do not use Google+ anymore How did you hear about vVv Gaming? Were you referred to the site? If so, by whom? I've been interested in joining vVv since I was 12 years old, but the age limit was 16 and I didn't want to apply with the fear of rejection. I heard about the site through a couple of Rhythm gamers (Andpg09, Gamerboy28) Who do you know currently in vVv Gaming? How do you know them? vVv Supweme(Congrats man!) vVv Perilous( encouraged me to apply early) Why are you interested in joining vVv Gaming? Basically I want a community where people will respect you no matter what, how bad you may do in a game, at the end of the day I believe its all about personality and how you push yourself to improve and that's what I look for in a player, a mutual respect for the player. Adding value is an important aspect of being in vVv Gaming. How will you, personally, add value? I believe I will add a positive value to vVv gaming, I never really have a dull moment when I'm playing(excluding lag, lol) and I always try to remain as positive as I can to keep the people positive around me. Are you familiar with vVv's Geek to Me articles and Losers Bracket Podcast? If so, what are some of your favorites and why? I haven't read or even heard of the Geek to Me articles but I listen into the podcast when I get the chance, my favorite would have to be when GoW3 came out and CDN the 3rd and NickMercs were guests, very entertaining for me. How long have you been playing video games? I've been playing games since I was around 5 or 6 years old. How many hours per week do you devote to gaming? I try to get in between 2-8 hours a day for gaming, 2 hours on school nights. What’s the hardest game you’ve ever beaten? Halo 3 on legendary with 4 people, they were hard to cooperate with lol, but it was fun. What games coming out are you looking forward to play and why? MW3 to play with some of my local's and 2K12, I haven't gotten the two yet though but I will. What are your hobbies and interests outside of gaming? Playing guitar, collecting sneakers, and hanging out with my friends Where do you see yourself next year at this time? Next year I see myself improving, hopefully with a team if I'm ready, and a part of vVv Gaming What kind of competitive tournament experience do you have? I haven't been to any halo tournaments yet but I intend to dominate local events when I find them Have you attended any national events (MLG, WCG, CPL)? No, but I'd like too eventually. How long have you been playing competitively? I started playing competitively at the end of Halo 3, fully got into it around the Dallas opener What was your best competitive moment? What was your worst? My best comp. moment was on black ops where my team and I came back on a top page team, my worst moment was my teammate choking on the easy win but you live and you learn right? What do you hope to achieve, competitively? Competitively, I hope to be known, I want to gain the respect and recognition I deserve because I know I definitely know I have the talent to excel and progress my skill, I just need that chance and I hope vVv will help me get that chance to gain respect among players What was your toughest competition? My toughest competition was probably meeting Formal and Assault in matchmaking, I didn't do that bad but I didn't play to what I could've How do you see vVv Gaming adding value to you? I see vVv gaming's community helping me mold in to the player I want to be, I've drifted from the slayer role to obj to support slayer and they don't seem to stick, hopefully if I get accepted into vVv, the great community can help me get there.

    Halo 2 Online

Many people still talk about how great Halo 2 was, and how fun the online play was. What people don't know is that you can still play online! For the last few months I have been using X-Link Kai to play. I have to come to find out it actually isn't well known, but it should be! I'll give you a little run down on what it is exactly, and how it works. As you know, no original Xbox titles are able to played through xbox live anymore. X-Link Kai gets you around that. You have your Xbox connected directly to your computer/laptop/ect. You download X-Link and make a free account. It's not a program on your computer. You click on it, and you have to sign in. Sign in, then your taken to a homepage. Then click on the upper part of the page "Game Arena". On the left side you'll see consoles to choose from. Choose Xbox, First Person Shooter, then Halo 2. Now on the left you'll see a region to choose from. Right now, you'll want to choose Latin America. For some reason this website is very popular over there, so that's where everyone is playing. Once your in that section stay there. Dont click on "Gaming Houses" or "Solo Retos". This is the part where you turn on your xbox. Do NOT turn it on until you reach this point, because it wont pick it up. So now when you get on Halo 2 it will ask you to sign in to xbox live. Click no. Go under System Link. This is how you get around it. It's considered a system link, but this program is connecting you to tons of gamers. When you get under system link you'll see different custom games to choose from that are currently being played. Join, or create your own and wait for people to join! There are usually between 100-400 people on. So you'll always find several games to choose. This is really such an awesome thing! It's great to still get to play Halo 2 with a huge group of people! I'm hoping some of you decide to do this, and spread this. Because the more people we have, the more people we will to have to play this together with! There are no viruses or anything like that. Sorry if it sounds like I'm advertising this. I just know how much people miss playing it. If anyone ever wants to play, message me on here, or we can set times and dates to meet on. Because of course we can't send invites or messages through it. If anyone has any problems installing it, or anything at all let me know and I'll help! Here's the site. http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/

    State of vVv Gaming

As the donation drive comes to an end, I want to personally thank all of you for your participation. We had about 50 people contribute, which is roughly 30% of our community. I am proud to say that we met our goal of $4,500, and when our new website launches, you can thank the donors that made it happen. Our growth for 2011 is explosive. Our site gets nearly double the visits we got last year, and I expect this will only continue to grow. Of course, we want to further that growth by adding more reasons to visit the vVv Gaming website. To fully understand HOW MUCH we have going on, I wanted to break it down by division. I promise to keep it as short as possible, so forgive me if I leave anything out. Brawl vVv Gaming has officially partnered with Apex. Currently, we are sponsoring the The Road to Apex: ONLINE EDITION! We also have formalized our sponsorship deals for Apex 2012 and our sponsorship structure for 2012. Chibo continues to do a great job leading the division, and you can expect more from vVv in Brawl for 2012. Call of Duty With Modern Warfare 3 releasing on November 8, we will keep a close eye on what Major League Gaming (MLG) will do with the title. Meanwhile, we look forward to our Call of Duty 4 PC team coming to Chicago for the Ignite LAN from October 21-23. I look forward to meeting Cubed and the team in person. We do not expect to sponsor any CoD console teams for MLG for the rest of the year. Crossfire Our Crossfire team has been busy with it preps for WCG. We are waiting to hear when the WCG Nationals are for Canada. The WCG World Finals will be held in Busan, Korea from Dec 8-11. As always, vVv Lifeline is our one and only Crossfire team, and we fully support the relationship we have with them. Gears of War I can’t say enough how excited I am for this game. We will be launching our Gears academy, and I expect the competition for one of the spots to be fierce. This will be a chance for teams to train in a structured environment, as well as a chance for the top team to earn their team pass and hotel for the first MLG event. I am looking forward to experimenting with the maps and game types. Our official position is to remain silent on changing any settings until we first determine the best maps and game types to go with those maps. I encourage all of you to contribute your ideas to the best maps and gametypes HERE! Think about the SPECTATOR experience when you make your suggestions. Expect to see TNO at DEVASTATION. Also, expect vVv Gears players to attend the NJHalo/KotC event on the east coast. Both events are the weekend of October 8. vVv Gaming’s Gears team will be at the New York invitational event from October 21-23.. We wish our Gears players, Enmity, Monk, Leon and Myth the best of luck! Halo We will be supporting Believe the Hype for the rest of the season. Next season, we'll see what MLG does with Halo before making any other decisions about teams. BelievVve! League of Legends Our League of Legends (LoL) team continues to surprise people. Not only has the team surprised people, but I see many of our core members playing League of Legends. Expect our focus, coverage and content surrounding this awesome game to grow. I want to say so much of LoL, but for now, just know that we have been very impressed by the game, our players, Riot and the opportunities. JayC will be one busy manager in 2012! Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) and Guild Wars 2 (GW2) is where you will find us. SWTOR will start us off, and expect us to have a lot of fun. GW2 will be much more serious as we try and build a top roster for the game. Mortal Kombat vVv Reo will be at DEVASTATION, and he will be ready to compete! Expect to see other vVv MK players like vVv Krazie at the event, as well. Rhythm Our rock band is going to DEVASTATION, so expect vVv Adrenaline to entertain the fans at this event. After DEVASTATION, expect our rhythm gaming division to be fairly quiet until either a release of a new title or a new event stirs some excitement. Sports Michs09 is going to Korea to compete in IeSF World Championship event for the game Hyundai Veloster HD. He will be in Korea from October 6-10. He will be joining 400 players from 40 nations! Also, we are keeping our eye out for top players. We just added Jrock to our roster who is a top NHL player. Welcome him, and add him on PSN if you play: vVv Jrock Starcraft Hasuu, Murder, Ruff and Titan are all getting ready for MLG Orlando. Also, Doom, Titan, Spectral and I will be attending the KoDeF event in Korea from November 1-4. We have finally formalized our mandatory practice schedules and weekly meetings. Expect Roar to take a more active role, as well. Expect Noxie to come back soon. We also launch the Starcraft Academy this week, where the top player will be attending MLG Providence. Sugarbear will have the awesome responsibility to get this running, so I ask all Starcraft players to support the academy. Be available to assit and answer questions. There has been a lot of conversation about us picking up players, and it is true we spoke with dde, Faith and Vibe. In short, these players were asking for more than we could justify, and they all took other offers. We will be picking up players after MLG Orlando, so stay tuned, but our main focus will be our players who have been developing with us and are currently sponsored. OK. WOW! That was supposed to be a short synopsis of what we have going on, but as always, we do so much, you sometimes don’t see it all until you put it all down in one place. On the content side, we will be completely restructuring everything with the new website. I don't want to spoil any suprises, so I will just talk about what we have going on right now. The Loser’s Bracket will continue. Expect us to broaden our focus by inviting more guests from outside vVv Gaming to share their insight and perspectives. I promise that I will rant more. You keep asking for it, so I will deliver. Directional Influence will not. Also, with Rapture starting college, and no longer having a quality internet connection, we have stopped the Brawl podcast show for now. We are open to others who may want to pick up the slack, but for now, Directional influence is in hiatus. We just contributed our 100th article to Geek to Me. We will continue to deliver great content to this blog. We are ALWAYS LOOKING FOR WRITERS! So, if you can handle the deadline and write consistently, let us know! Wednesday Night Starcraft (WNS) is something that we are currently examing, and more will follow in a spate update. We will add a lot of content for 2012, as well as a few surprises that only Doomhammer and I know about. Expect us to continue to support the exact same mission statement: Again, I just wanted to thank those of you who donated, and give everyone an update on what we have going on. It is amazing when you put it all down in one spot. I promise that 2012 will only get better!

  14. It's time for the next stop on the Major League Gaming Pro Circuit, this time heading back to the East coast in Raleigh, NC. vVv Gaming will be out in full force this weekend as a multitude of our community members, staff, and sponsored players will be heading to the event to compete and enjoy the fourth stop this year for MLG. As vVv Gaming competes this weekend, this will be the first place to go for updates on how all of our teams and players are doing, along with general pool and bracket updates from the event spanning across Starcraft 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Halo: Reach. Also at Raleigh, we'll see an exhibition match in Gears of War 3, a four team League of Legends invitational, and of course a major walk-up Mortal Kombat 9 event with a $7,000 prize pool. It will be an interesting weekend for sure, and there will be non-stop action. The 30 Ton Sword: Weapon Balancing

One of the most important parts of games involving any sort of combat is weapon balancing. Gamers who frequent the online realms of their favorite games are usually very in-tune with the balancing between every weapon at their disposal, as are those who play fighting games and understand the balancing between each character in the roster. For gaming, weapon balance is key to making the community happy; no one is going to play a game in which someone can gain access to a shotgun that has a reload time of .3 seconds, a fire rate of an assault rifle, and damage output of a catapult using whales as projectiles. Every weapon must have pros and cons, and this applies to both campaign modes and multiplayer, as when there is less of a balance, the game itself suffers as a whole. For campaigns, weapon balancing is essentially for keeping a game challenging and, at the same time, worthwhile to play. In an obvious example, it makes no logical sense to give the player access to a weapon early in the game that allows them to kill every enemy they see with no effort. There has to be a scaling factor
