    • Twitch Caster Opportunity for Rocket League!   10/04/2015

Wanted: Rocket League Twitch Caster   vVv Gaming is looking for a streamer who wants to turn our biweekly Rocket League tournaments into a premier event.  Your role as a caster would be to stream the events on our vVv Twitch channel and commentate on plays in the game.  There are 4-6 Rounds in each tournament and you would be casting one game out of each round.  This is a volunteer position.   What we are looking for: - Available Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 9pm EST to about midnight - 720p 60 FPS video - Ability to work in a team environment - Ability to interact with an audience - Willingness to stream from our official channel.   What we consider a bonus: - Familiarity with video editing and editing software - Previous streaming experience (specifically shoutcasting) - Familiar with Rocket League eSports scene - Know how to setup and use twitchalerts.com or similar system   These tournaments provide a chance for amatuer Rocket League players to connect with and play against others to learn key elements to the game and the importance of teamwork. The point of the stream would be to highlight great plays from teams and to recognize new and upcoming talent.
For the specifics of the event, refer to our guide on the Community Tournaments here.   If you are interested in the opportunity, please send me a private message via these forums!

    • LoL ADL Season 7 Begins October 16th!   10/11/2015

It's that time again, boys and girls! We're proud to announce the Amateur Draft League is returning for its Seventh Season! Since dropping Tuesdays worked well last season, we will continue to be playing every Sunday and Friday at 9pm EST (6pm PST) starting on October 16th and continuing until December 13th. Even though the ADL falls on days that the LoL World Championship is taking place, we will STILL be playing! World Championship games start anywhere between 5-7am EST so we will have plenty of time between then and the beginning of the draft :} Be aware that we moved from Mumble to TeamSpeak! Our Server Information is down below along with a guide on how to set it up.

Last season, we also removed MVP voting, introduced our new Champion and Challenger Tiers, and also randomized Captain selection within the same relative rank to make picking a little more fair for the captains who were closer in Solo Q rank. All of you who regularly play in the ADL were super happy about those changes so they'll be around to stay! Since there was no demand for an ADL All-Star match, we didn't have one, but that doesn't mean we can't have one at the end of this season! Just be sure to let us know you want it and we'll make it happen.      Significant Dates: 10/16/2015 - Start of Season 7 11/13/2015 - Week 5 of Season 7 (Champion Tier and Challenger Tier begin) 12/6/2015 - Last night of the regular season 12/13/2015 - Finals Mini-Tournament (Must attend to qualify for Top 4 finish) Quick Info: TeamSpeak info: TeamSpeak Server: ts65.gameservers.com:9222 How to set up TeamSpeak ADL ELO Lookup: http://www.vvv-gaming.com/adl-look-up Start Time: 9 PM EST/6 PM PST Sundays and Fridays Holidays: The Friday after Thanksgiving there will be no ADL (11/27/2015)
Changes based on your suggestions:   This isn't a change that only we can do, but we got some feedback where you guys wished there were more people to play with/against. Even though our debut first nights are the most attended, we get a very stable 30 or so people per night, and they're the same people who attend every night. If you would like to learn how to get more people involved in attending the ADL, make sure you read this guide on how to bring in more people! Everyone needs to pitch in on this effort, it's not something that we as Staff have ultimate power over. Also, don't forget to bring your friends! Also on the topic of recruitment, if you guys are interested in bringing more players let us know if you'd be willing to participate in recruiting nights where we would get together on TeamSpeak and try to bring new players onto the server to get to know us and join us for ADL :3Season 6 was a HUGE success in the fact that multiple people stated that the event was organized and run better than other events they've been to. We're very proud of this! If you see something you would like to see changed, be sure to hit up one of the Staff members! We specifically ask for feedback after every night, so there are plenty of opportunities to speak up!As always, we MAY make changes during the ADL Season. This only happens if there is enough negative feedback about a certain aspect where it warrants an immediate change, or if it's something we want to test out (ie: a better pick order, a better way to determine who faces who, how we draft, etc). We will always ask for everyone's opinion beforehand. If any changes are made during the Season, players will be informed of said changes before drafting begins. For this next season, we want to focus on providing more opportunities for getting to know your fellow LoL players. One of the things we've learned that could benefit from an organized play environment is that higher level players have trouble finding teammates who share their motivation and goals. By providing a more relaxed environment people can come to after each night's games are finished, we can offer moments for people to connect outside of simple game comms so that you can actually get to know each other and not just how you are in-game. We've made a couple nice visual guides that hopefully explain the season format and how to participate much easier for new players.Always be sure to give vVv Organicbear or vVv Medusa any feedback you have! We can always make things better or easier, we just need to be informed that something needs changing! A link to our profiles containing our contact information are at the bottom of this post. Feel free to contact us in any way that is most convenient for you (including chatting on TeamSpeak).         How to Participate: NOTE: Anyone can play, regardless of Solo Q rank, as long as you're Level 30 and have at least 16 champions to participate in Custom Tournament Draft.   Season Format:      Official ADL Rules:   Please take the time to read and familiarize yourself with the rules! You are expected to know the rules before you join TeamSpeak and participate!!!
Are you as excited for Season 7 as we are? Let's make this another fantastic ADL! See you in TeamSpeak on Friday, October 16th at 9pm EST!
If you have questions, concerns, comments, or suggestions please contact any of the below ADL Staff members and they would be happy to assist you!

  4. vVv Blazek added a post in a topic Metal Gear Solid 5

So i beat the game last night, and i need to vent a bit on this. I'll spoiler tag it in case anyone doesn't want to ruin anything, although i'll try to keep it to a minimum (i'll talk about mission numbers and general concepts of things that happen, but i won't say anything about the details of the story itself)...

TL;DR MGSV is somehow one of the best, and at the same time most disappointing game i have ever played.
  5. vVv Blazek added a post in a topic Metal Gear Solid 5

Picked it up last Friday and I've been having a hard time not playing it. This is definitely one of my favorite games in recent memory as it blends stealth and open world exploration very well. (although i usually am not a fan of open world games as they tend to drag on and side missions get very stale over time, however MGS5 just doesn't for some reason) Currently only on CH.1 Ep 18 although most of my time has been spent dickin' around doing all the side missions or just extracting tons of materials, vehicles, or personnel for Mother Base. (something satisfying about slammin' people into walls then making them join you )
I have loved MGS since the first game on PSX, although i actually lost interest in the series after 4. Peace Walker was interesting for its story but it just felt so damn repetitive that i stopped playing maybe 10 hours in. MGR:R was fun and i enjoyed the hell out of it, but more because it was developed by Platinum Games and it really was a complete derailing from the main series. Honestly i wasn't considering picking up MGS5 at first and didn't pay attention to its development for the last 3 years or so; however i am glad now that i picked it up as it is just a really fun game to play.

    12x experience until October 27th
Since i didn't see a post for this already, i figured i'd let people who may be interested in the new expansion know. From now until October 27th, if you subscribe to the game you will gain a whopping 12x experience from all main story missions in the game up to level 50. I decided to go ahead and play a bit over the weekend and made it through chapter 1 (ending at level 34) in just around 6 hours of play time. I compared this to a lvl 28 that i had before which had something like 19 hours already played.
As a tip if you are going to do this, always choose commendations as a reward and spend them every other planet or so (or you can just go until you get to a mission you cannot beat with your lvl 12 gear like i did ). also, u gain free xp boosts pretty often from the main story, and they do affect the experience earned from quests, so keep using those as well!

  7. vVv Blazek added a post in a topic New Expansion.

There are a few things that are good (or at least seem to be good for a concept) with this next expansion.
The Artifact system as presented is a great idea to give longevity that isn't forced behind a daily/weekly wall. Everything the player does will earn power for their weapon that will eventually allow them to unlock small buffs to themselves. This feels like a great way to make incremental progression that isn't (hopefully) game breaking and thus can be done as fast or slow as a person wishes to play. Add on top of that, each specialization has its own weapon and now if you are an alt-o-holic and enjoy playing many different roles, you can decide what you wish to work on and feel as if you always have something to strive for. The downside to the artifact system is now everyone of the same spec now all have the same legendary/fabled weapons and that feels like they lose some of their epicness.
The revamp to the Honor system making it a talent system is great. Finally we have abilities acting differently in PvP vs PvE and can talent more specifically for each. I am glad they are trying to move away from gear progression in PvP and attempting to make it more about skill. The Prestige system i am kinda indifferent to, however i am sure it will appeal to some players, and it does give a way to add longevity to the new honor system.
Although once again, the fact that they are already done with the previous expansion means a good year or so of no new content. Sadly i cannot support blizzard anymore (and is a major reason i stopped playing prior to WoD releasing) with this nonsense having lived through the same BS for the last 3 expansions already. While they seem to have some very strong game elements for Legion, i just don't want an MMO that i play for 2-3 months then wait around to come back next expansion.
  8. vVv Blazek added a post in a topic [FFXIV] Alexander Floor 3 Savage World First (Raid)

quite surprised this was cleared so quickly tbh. The AoE damage output from cascade is crazy plus personal mechanics are quite abundant. congratz to these guys, although i feel a vast majority of raid groups will struggle with this floor for quite some time.

have my characters linked in my comment, however ill go ahead and post them up:
    IGN: Blazek Wolfe
Data center and server: Primal - Excalibur (Main) / Aether - Gilgamesh (Alt)
    Lvl and i lvl: 190 (Main) / 190 (Alt)
Main Function (Tank, Dps, Healer): Tank/DPS (Main) / DPS/Healer (Alt)
Current Main class and job: All Tanks + Bard (Main) / Summoner + White Mage (Alt)
Additional Information: Made an Alt (well technically started playing my 2.0 character again) while waiting for IRL friends to catch up and start running Alex/primals with. My main is likely to stay where he is, however my alt i may move around depending on what/where i can find others to play with.
  11. vVv Blazek added a post in a topic Do you esport game? The bizarre story of the e-Sports World Finals

not sure if i should facepalm or feel bad for the guy. After reading the article, this guy is either a massive troll, completely out of touch with what he is trying to get into, or mentally handicapped.
  12. vVv Blazek added a post in a topic Questions

I don't believe there is a solid wiki for the game as of yet since the game just went into open beta. Wargaming does run a wiki for all of their games which does give you all stats on the ships as well as some pros and cons to every ship; But not much beyond that.
There are also some videos on youtube by the developers that can give you a basic rundown on the different classes of ships and generally how you play each of them to their strengths.
As for unlocking the next ship it works exactly like World of Tanks. Essentially you will need to gain experience on the prior ship, as well as unlock some of the prior ships upgraded modules, to get to the next tier. The best way to view this (at least from what i know atm) is to right click on your ship that you currently own and in the drop down menu click the modules button. in the upper left you should see the upgrade paths for your ship and at the bottom of these paths you will see what ship they lead into. While you only need to unlock said modules to unlock the next tier, it is generally a good idea to unlock most, if not all of your current ships modules and equip them so that gaining the experience for the next tier ship is not only more enjoyable but actually easier (due to increased performance and thus more damage you can deal and sustain.)
There is also free xp that you gain a small amount of naturally by playing, or can convert from elite ships (ships in which u have unlocked everything for including all ships that they path into) for doubloons (the real money currency). this experience can be used on any ship, however it can be pretty costly to do this.
  13. vVv Blazek added a post in a topic Open Beta Free to Play

The thing i guess that attracts me to this and World of Tanks is the fact that it is a quick battle arena (kinda reminds me of MMO battlegrounds pvp in terms of length and action). matches last anywhere from 5-10 minutes with the occasional longer match. good to just jump in play a few and head off. So far i have been enjoying it, although just like in WoT you need to learn to play safe as rushing in most situations will make you the primary target
I'll need to start playing this more and cut down on my FFXIV during my free time a bit
  14. vVv Blazek added a post in a topic What The Hell Happened to vVv?

I'd like to respond to this as i feel you do make some valid points and i would also like to contribute to some points as i have seen them from another perspective.
I believe this is a view due in part of a stigma that kind of goes back towards the origins of vVv. Due to having its root in competitive gaming there has always been an application process as we were intentionally looking for more serious gamers. On the flip side this may cause a sense of elitism (from both the new comer and the current member) and i understand that can create some sense of separation between the two. I believe the solution here is that vVv guilds within MMO's should likely be treated differently and quite separately from the greater part of vVv itself. (essentially treat it as its own entity and not as an extension of vVv, thus members are promoted based solely on their actions and participation within the game.) This is just my personal opinion, however from your comments later it seems like it worked out well in GW2.
This is one of those things that is hard to draw the line between. People with vVv in their name here on the forums have this privilege due to spending time with the community and wanting to be a part of it (so they put in the effort to apply). By doing so, yes they will be given priority to guild ranks and slots in raids. It really isn't much different from joining any other guild and trying to work your way into their leadership or raids. So while yes it can be viewed in the way you portray it, in actuality it is what most guilds do that try to focus on more serious aspects of the game (PvP/Raiding/etc.) I don't really know of a fix for this but i am open to ideas.
I feel there is a bit of reasoning behind this that stems back to Aion, so let me explain. In Aion we had a pretty lenient bank policy and we did so to help members get their stigmas (abilities that u needed a dropped item for that could be traded and sold) so that they could more rapidly outfit their character. This was fine for some time until we picked up a few players that liked to troll others on our faction and basically were giving us a bad name. we tried to talk with said players, however they would not let up. So they decided to steal what they could out of the guild bank and leave. While it wasn't a massive deal it did make us reconsider our open banking policy.
Most MMOs i have played generally have a pretty tight banking policy, specifically for larger guilds that recruit lots of players at once. I don't feel this is a very uncommon thing to do and i don't get upset when i join guilds and don't have access to the bank. I understand i have to contribute to earn that privilege. For your case, i understand that you may have felt you were wronged, however did you talk to someone that you knew from guildwars 2 that was playing wildstar to fix this? did you make yourself known as a contributor in gw2? (i'm asking in all seriousness as i don't know.) As with the example i gave above with aion, unless you are known and trusted it is unlikely you would gain access to the convenience of the bank, however i am pretty sure asking an officer for something you need wouldn't be denied. (from my own experience i had no problem giving things out when i was available).
This is a possibility at all times and unfortunately it is quite impossible to judge someones true character, so yes some jerks end up in vVv. However from personal experience i have met some of the best people in my life through vVv. Some people join to feel important and will put up a facade to gain that  "elite" status. Its unfortunate you have had bad experiences and that is something that is a constant work in progress to find and only include gamers who merely want a community to call their own and enjoy gaming with others. But as i stated before, we probably should treat MMO guilds differently and focus on the members of that specific game as their own community. If they wish to join the forums and the larger community all together, that should be their own choice and not be forced upon them. (these are my own opinions btw)
I thank you for the opinions Seberg and i do agree with some of what you have said; and at the very least understand a lot of your complaints. If you have any other opinions on ways to make gamers experience with vVv better i would love to hear them as well.
  15. vVv Blazek added a post in a topic You can get Closed Beta Access Now

Just found out recently the game has gone into open beta, so anyone that was looking into trying this game, you can get in for free now. Started playing last night and was quite fun, although the lack of a tutorial kinda sucks a few games is all it seems to take to get a hang of the controls decently.
