We have moved to Discord   08/04/2016

There has been a strong desire among the community to migrate to Discord for quite some time. As of today, our community will be using Discord and as a result, we will no longer be actively using our TeamSpeak Server.  The TeamSpeak server will temporarily stay active to help inform all of our move to Discord. Within the next couple of months, it will be shut down completely.  For a quick invite to our new Discord server, you can click here.

New Supersonic Series Start Time   10/17/2016

We would like to thank everyone who participated in our recent survey regarding the start time of our tournaments.  After reviewing responses from the survey sent out to tournament participants we have decided to make changes to the start time of our events to try to better accommodate everyone.  Beginning on Monday, October 24th, all of our tournaments will start an hour earlier - at 8PM Eastern.  This means that registration will close at 7:30 EST, and that check-in starts at 7:30 EST and closes at 7:45 EST.

  1. Name: Chase Parker Age: 20 Location: Tampa, FL Steam profile link: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Lyrical_Lull/ Battle.Net Tag: Lyrical #11604 What is the game you are currently most active in and why? (only name one game) : Minecraft. I host and administrate the vVv Minecraft server, so you could say I am the most active player on the server! I am usually busy editing the map or adding features and helping out players. What are some other games that you currently play? Overwatch, Minecraft, Legend of Zelda: BOTW (woo!) How did you hear about vVv Gaming? Were you referred to the site? If so, by whom? I learned about vVv through the Rocket League tournaments a long time ago when we still used teamspeak. I spent a lot of time participating in tournaments, and eventually lost interest in RL and hopped over to Minecraft! Who do you currently know in vVv Gaming? How did you get to know them? Bliss is my girlfriend who I met before participating in vVv. We met in Rocket League and currently live together. Mohulis is a good buddy of mine who me and Ali (Bliss) met on Rocket League as well a bit later through vVv. Syracuse is another buddy of mine that me and Ali met through Rocket league-- now that I think about it, pretty much everyone I know now through vVv was directly through the Rocket League tournaments! Why are you interested in joining vVv Gaming? I hope to bring a whole separate department that vVv hasn't expanded in, the less competitive side associated with creativity, learning, exploring, and building. I hope to join and express my ability to add to what already exists. What are your hobbies and interests outside of gaming? I spend a great deal of time organizing networks and netcode, developing games through an engine as well as practicing piano and composing music. How do you plan to add value to vVv Gaming? : I plan to add value through many different means. Seeing as vVv is very focused around competition, I hope to include that aspect to the server I am running through Minecraft by hosting events that bring out each players' inner ability to do their best and enjoy doing that. Do you attend LAN Events? I only almost attended one locally but ended up not going, but maybe in the future! I'm all for conventions though.
  2. @vVv Bagzli @vVv Jackal Either way, I've changed my profile picture for you, disregarding whether I am in the clear or not.
  3. Clearly you have no idea how cool Prokofiev is!
  4. Q & A How do I remove the scoreboard showing my stats on the side?/My sidebar of stats is missing! Simply type '/gui' in chat How do I get experience for leveling up? Simple! Completing quests, killing bosses, and killing regular mobs will net you plenty of experience to level up. What are Stat Points? Stat points are rewarded each level and allow you to modify your damage, health, crit chance, and more by typing '/p' and selecting a stat to put points into. How long to quests usually take? Depends... Including travel time to the dungeon (if there is one) and a suitable party for the raid... Green quests (Lowest difficulty) can take anywhere from 10 seconds to 5-10 minutes. Blue quests (Hard difficulty) can take anywhere from 1 to 20 minutes. Purple quests (Intense difficulty) usually include a boss and take about 15 - 30 minutes to complete. Orange quests (Insane difficulty) almost always include a boss or more and take about an hour to complete. Are there classes that each player can choose? Not specifically, but you could most likely say that a player who spent all of his stat points on Strength is definitely a Tank, or a player that spend all of his stat points on Melee Damage is a DPS or Warrior class. Nothing is set in stone, you could be a jack of all trades! How do I get into World 2.0 from 1.0? Scroll down to below the first picture! What is the genre of this new world? This world is tailored to those who like RPG elements. Bosses, dungeons, quests, and loot. All of these things are part of our RPG world. What’s the story about? Play and find out! There are several books to find, each revealing part of the lore of Vidringelf. Are there (new) roles on this world? There are gameplay roles. You can spelunk and earn loot through dungeons, or you can become a Trader/Merchant. Realistically, there are a much larger number of roles, but these two are the most common. Here is an example of possible organizations of weapons and armor. Swords Crowd Control Damage Utility Armor Speed Strength Survivability Utility Axes Damage Utility When you are fighting Bosses often a certain technique may develop where one player tanks damage, and the others deal it. The harder the boss, the more likely that a technique is going to be used. What does leveling up do? Read more on this below in the section titled 'Leveling.' Will there be more content later after the release? Content is continually being developed! We have dedicated builders to add more content for quite a while. Will my stuff from Vanilla Survival cross over? Can I exchange it somehow? There is absolutely no way to exchange or transfer anything from World 1.0 to World 2.0 and vice versa. The ONLY exception to this rule is Referral rewards, which can be targeted to either world but not exchanged between them. Is this world harder than normal Minecraft? This world’s difficulty is 3 (hard) and is designed to be much more challenging than just a hard Vanilla world. You’ll notice mobs spawn with extra health and armor sometimes. Is there a way to find dungeons besides wandering around? Actually, they're all designed for a quest. Most of them are in Isles-Keep, but other cities will have their own library of quests pointing to each and every one of those dungeons you are randomly finding! Why is it so difficult to complete X quest/boss? Make sure you're following the color system. When you first start out try to stay on green quests, gradually moving up to blue, then purple, then orange. A good rule of thumb is... Green: Level 0 - 12 Blue: Level 13 - 24 Purple: Level 25 - 34 Orange: level 35 - 50 Can I help out with this new world? You can let the staff members know that you are interested in helping out and if there is a position available, they will reach out to you. How to get into World 2.0 You need to completely clear World 1.0 to continue to 2.0. This means reaching the Nether, End, killing the Ender Dragon, and most importantly getting an Ender Dragon Head from one of the End Cities generated in the outer lands of the end. Once obtained, simply drop (as in press Q, not place down) the item WITH YOUR NAME ON IT onto the purpur slabs shown in the picture (this is located in the Donation center). Within a day your item will be processed and all you have to do is press the button on the portal to World 2.0 and enter. Be aware if someone else presses it, you cannot enter for them. If you get ejected out when you try to enter it means someone else pressed the button and you need to repress it. WORLD 2.0 IS NOW FREE TO ACCESS FOREVER! Simply hop in the portal following the gold trail from spawn. New Rules (READ THIS FIRST PLEASE) If a structure has a colored beacon beam with a White, Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, or Yellow color then it is a Dungeon. These areas are public but STILL APPLY TO THE SAME RULES AS WORLD 1.0. The only difference is that containers and interactable objects are free to use to anyone. That means chests, levers, pressure plates, dispensers, hoppers, and more are free to use and deposit or withdraw from with no consequences. This does not mean blocks are breakable or placeable. Doing so will get you banned, just like in World 1.0. NOTE: IF A BEACON BEAM IS PINK, IT IS A SETTLEMENT AND IS STILL LOOTABLE BUT CONSIDERED A SAFE ZONE World 1.0 and 2.0 are completely separate. This means your items, xp, armor, etc will not transfer over. This new dimension requires that you start from the bottom of the survival food chain again. Shops still apply! If you are a Trader or a Merchant you are allowed to make shops anywhere on your land. Quicktip: Right-click a shop’s chest to see what the item is called if you’re buying a custom item, such as a Hero’s Warpick. Survival is still survival! You can completely ignore the dungeons and quests and just go build a house (Although we don’t know why you’d want to do that!). Building and farming is still allowed, just keep it organized. Before tackling some of the harder challenges this dimension has to offer, it’s recommended that you acquire some of the basic survival needs first. (Examples: Food, Shelter, Minerals, Weapons, Armor, etc.) Parties are encouraged!(Explained later) A lot of people will try to tackle Dungeons head-on without friends. It’s a lot harder on your own, trust us. (Testing mobs alone was… Scary to say the least) Dungeons: Dungeons are a way players can receive various objects, weapons, items, potions, abilities, and consumables without crafting them. Often it is smart to bring a friend or two with you when you spelunk in Dungeons, as they dramatically increase in difficulty later on. Dungeon Types Instances: These dungeons are simpler and often for low to mid-tier players. They include a few challenges, puzzles, or battles that lead to a loot reward with no Boss fight. Often reward lightly and are fairly easy. Trials: These dungeons are the full deal. Most often they are included in the main questline. They include a series of battles, challenges, or puzzles that lead up to a Boss fight. Often reward moderately and aren’t too challenging. Boss Instances: These dungeons are not for the faint of heart. They include the most challenging Boss fights, often having no puzzle, obstacle, or challenge to face before the fight, leading straight into a head-on battle with a boss. Often reward heavily and are the toughest fights. Bosses: Bosses are a feature added to enhance the difficulty of our World 2.0. There are two types of Bosses. The key to knowing if you’re about to be in a boss battle is if you see a sign like this… Boss Types World Boss: These are randomly generated or open terrain Bosses not enclosed in a Dungeon. These are typically harder and require a large amount of people to topple. They often give a special title or ability rather than loot, but sometimes custom loot will drop too. Dungeon Boss: These are your typical Bosses. They are usually at the end of a Trial, and often described briefly showing you whether or not you can defeat them. Usually linked to a map for easy location, and contain high to mid-level loot. Two things to note: Wool: This is the tier of Boss associated. So in the case above, it is an Epic boss with Epic loot (purple). Player heads: This represents the recommended party count. Going under or over is not recommended, but still possible. Loot: Loot is found by killing mobs, completing Boss fights, or opening containers in a Dungeon. They will often reset every 24 hours, so be ready to reopen it the next day. Dungeon Maps: These maps are bought, quested, and looted from structures. They provide coordinates and a visual representation of Dungeons you most likely haven’t found somewhere in the world. Be sure to keep them for later visits to the same Dungeon when loot respawns. Questing: Quests were added to World 2.0! These provide incentive to explore and complete tasks because they reward with loot and abilities. Questing Help: /quests journal to view your current quests in a book. /quest to view your current quests in chat. /quests quit [questname] to quit a quest. Types of Quests Main quests: These are the deepest type of quest often all tied together in one big logical chain. They provide the most content, and reveal new areas to the player they previously have not explored. This lore is first given to you when you enter World 2.0 by Bjarke the Fisherman. Side quests: Less important mechanically, but still incredibly fun to pursue, as there are plenty of side quest Boss fights, Instances, and other activities that you’d miss out on if you b-lined it for the Main quest ending, including experience. Leveling New leveling system added that allows users to increase their melee damage, crit chance, crit damage, dodge, ranged damage, block chance, power, and more! Leveling Help: Use '/p' to bring up the gui for your stat points Stat points You get one stat point per level It enables you to increase one of whatever stat you desire (health, melee damage, crit chance, magic damage, etc) Classes There are four classes in the game determined by what you sink the most stat points into Tank: Health and Power Mage: Mana-based Damage Ranger: Bow-based Damage, High crit chance, High evade chances Warrior: Melee-based Damage, High crit damage New Mechanics and Concepts (and revisiting the old ones) Currency Gold is still a currency, but it is the lower tier Boss Souls is the higher tier currency obtained from Boss fights. Rarity/Difficulty
