  1. Hello. I am Hesh. I am fairly new here, but have been playing competetive Smash Bros. for over a year and a half now. I am involved with the scene in my area and love watching it grow. There is not really a community site for Super Smash Bros. For Wii U and 3DS, however, their Reddit boards have a huge cult following. Average viewers can range from 1-5000+ for an average play session/minor tournament, and 10,000+ for a major tournament. I've even seen the view count to up to 70k at EVO 2015. This game supports online mode, so it is possible to hold online double elimination tourneys, but Smash is a game that is really about sitting down at the same TV as someone and really beating them up in game. The community can best be described in these three words: Insane. Loud. Loyal. This game has a ton of support from tournaments such as EVO, CEO, APEX, and DreamHack just to name a few majors, as well as major support for local tournaments in communities around the world. Some teams and organizations that support this title are: VGBootCamp, shoryuken, MLG, MVG, Team Liquid, Cloud 9, Evil Geniuses, Panda Global, Team Solo-Mid, Red Bull, and Nintendo themselves. Nintendo is consistently updating the game and adding balancing patches that generally change most of the metagame. This is why I think Smash for Wii U and 3DS should be supported. It has a strong following, and vVv has supported Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl in the past. Thank you for reading this and please take it in to consideration.

    New rig analysis?

I am looking at the Pentium now because it's cheap, and overclocks like a pro. I plan on keeping the LGA 1150 platform for awhile. (Skylake and ddr4 dont interest me too much right now due to high prices) as for upgrading it, an i5 would be worth it, but I can't justify spending $130+ at the moment on a processor. My storage solution is only 11 months old. I understand the ssd doesn't have alot of space, and I only plan on putting OS and key applications on there. My back up solution currently is a WD My Cloud 12tb NAS. As for ram, it isn't cheap and budget is everything right now. I'm wanting to go with 1x4gb stick right now, then later on, adding another 4gb stick, or selling the 4gb stick and purchasing 2 8gb sticks. my current monitor setup is a dual monitor DVI setup. I already own an HDMI to displayport adapter and a DVI to HDMI adapter so I am set there. Thank you for your tips and suggestions though. I really appreciate them.

    Hello. I am Hesh.

Thank you for the welcome. I started early last year, with my most recent tournament being The Big House 5 in October. I plan on attending more this summer. I do not have teamspeak but will be sure to download it
  4. Looking into building a new rig, because let's face it, my current one is horrendous. I'm honestly surprised it even runs still. My current rig boasts these specs: AMD 4050e 2.1 Ghz dual core cpu (oc to 2.8 ghz) 4gb generic ddr2 800 mhz ram 400w Antec PSU Nvidia GeForce 8800 gts Some very poor eMachines Motherboard. A Dell b110 case (lol, Pentium 4 anyone?) Now on to the new build I am building's specs: Intel Pentium Anniversary g3258 3.2 Ghz Cpu 4gb G.Skill Ripjaw (1x4gb) DDR3 500w EVGA psu EVGA GTX 950 SC+ ACX2 2gb GPU ECS B85H3-M3(1.0) Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Azza SIRIUS ATX Mid Tower Case Cooler Master Hyper T4 Cpu cooler. As for storage, the only good thing going for my old rig is the 60gb SSD and the 1tb HDD I plan to incorporate in to this build and do a fresh install of Windows 10 64-bit. Any tips or comments on both rigs would be appreciated. The new build is very budget oriented with the final price of $340. I'm building on the LGA1150 platform so I can move up to an i5 or an i7 haswell chip in the near future and expand my ram due to me not needing a skylake cpu anytime soon. Would this new rig be good for streaming and recording? I mainly play Super Smash Bros. Melee, and have a dainty capture stick for that, but it has no onboard encoder. Please review all this if you'd like and leave any suggestions as to what I could add/remove. Thank you.
  5. Hello and welcome. I am a new face around here as well.
  6. Hello everyone. My name is Dayton, but I go by Hesh when gaming and in other situations. I play Super Smash Bros. Melee competitively at tournaments in Michigan. I hope to compete in more tournaments soon and out of State and possibly country. I enjoy reading, watching YouTube videos, and listening to/playing music in my spare time. I really look forward to joining the vVv Community and am embracing this opportunity with open arms. Feel free to add me on PSN, Xbox Live, and whatever other platforms you'd like. I'm open to talk most of the time. Thank you and hello.
