    • Rocket League Community Game Night Tournaments!   10/03/2015

As of 25th of August 2015, we have been hosting Rocket League events!  This event is open for everyone to participate.  Below you will find all the details that you need to know to get involved, so please take a minute and read through carefully!  Hope to see you there at our next event!     When: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm PST/9pm EST (we start on the dot, so don’t be late) Where: Our TeamSpeak server (click here for setup guide/details) Format: 3vs3 - Double elimination, best out of 3 games. How to participate: Connect to our TeamSpeak server with your team (or alone) before starting time and you will be entered in the tournament by one of the admins.  Currently, you do not need to pre-register to participate in the tournament, simply be in the teamspeak in the Rocket League channel by starting time stated above. Participating alone: If you have come alone to the tournament you will be drafted onto one of the teams by an administrator of the event. Participating with a team: If you have come with one or two friends to the tournament, you will be allowed to play together.  When the drafting starts, you need to move to one of the team channels with your friend(s) so that the administrators knows that you are not alone.  Should it be necessary, a third person will be added to your team by an administrator.     Drafting Process:  Upon all teams being selected, we will create a challonge bracket that will be used to keep track of the games.  Each team will choose a team captain and report to the administrators the name of the captain.  On challonge, we will use team captain's name as the name of the team.  Challonge will randomize the matchups for us.  To view the latest challonge bracket, visit http://vvv-gaming.com/RLBracket Playing your games and reporting results:  When the challonge bracket is setup, you will be able to see against which team you are up against.  Team captains are expected to communicate to one another at this point and organize a game.  The game should be created with a username and password so that our shout casters are able to join your game should they choose to do so.  Upon completing your games, report the result of the game to the event administrators and they will update the challonge. Streaming (Shoutcasting): One game out of each round will be streamed throughout the night. To accommodate the streamers we ask that you allow the streamer to join your game prior to beginning your play and also to let the replays play to the end so that they have a chance to analyse your plays over the streams and show those amazing goals you score!  Should your game be selected to be streamed, one of the shoutcasters will get in touch with your prior to your game starting. Keeping up with updates of the event: Don’t forget to check back on these forums for any updates to the tournament and you can also join our Steam group to to get notifications about our upcoming events and easier access to our announcements: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/vVvGamingRL

  1. Engel added a post in a topic YouPorn announced it has an eSports Team

Wow... they actually sponsored a team.... What... did they give the team lifetime memberships to Bang Bros?
  2. Engel added a post in a topic Voting for MVP in ADL's

And people vote for MVP based on who they are friends with and who they like, but I didn't see any crying at that point. Not that I don't disagree with you(and it pains me to say that), but the MVP voting has always been jacked up with the way people vote.

Great day to be at Blizzcon. Get to try out the new expansion.. and Legacy of the Void for SC2 gets shown.. Pretty good day lol
  8. Engel added a topic in Hearthstone

    New Hearthstone Expansion

Blizzard revealed the new Expansion for it's trading card game, Hearthstone, at Blizzcon 2014 today. The expansion, Goblins vs Gnomes, will feature 120 new cards and will be released next month.

This will follow in the footsteps of the "Curse of Naxxramas", more of a solo adventure, that added 30 new cards. This full blown expansion will feature 4 times that many and with the way Curse influenced the meta, I can't wait to see what this expansion will bring.

  9. Engel added a post in a topic "Expensive" Game: Hearthstone

From my personal experience, Hearthstone can be just as expensive as Magic, but you also have the chance to disenchant cards not needed in hearthstone and use that dust for the cards you really want. It really just depends. Coming off experiences I have had, a lot of my Magic decks cost me a ton of money just to get them built up enough to win tournaments. Most TCGs are like that.
  10. Engel added a post in a topic Thoughts on the new changes heading to LoL Korea?

Going to hurt the scene in the short term(in term of sponsors).. long term, should be fine
  11. Engel added a post in a topic #gamergate

Here is the issue and I have been saying this for the last few weeks, especially since more well known publications have been speaking on this; just because there are people using the Gamergate tag to try and go after certain people, doesn't mean that is ONLY what GamerGate was about. It's main purpose has always been about transparency in gaming journalism. Anita got put into it because she brought herself into it and decided to misrepresent what GamerGate was about because, let's be real, that's her thing. I could rant on and on about her why I wish she would go away(and it has nothing to do with her being a woman), but this topic is GamerGate.

The gaming media has been found out and they have been exposed. There are e-mails showing that they communicate with one another to push an agenda, there was never transparency, journalists will fund developers and then post about their work, they will push people they have had relationships with and this is all an ethical breach in what a journalist should be. That was always the point of GamerGate. Was there people that misused it? Of course, but there are groups of people that do that with everything. I mean, would it be fair of me to lump all Christians together every time a Christian bombs an abortion clinic? Would it be fair of me to lump all feminists together just because you have these radical feminists like Anita? Of course not, just like it's not fair to just lump all of GamerGate and it's supporters into a group because there are trolls that like to use it to go after people like Anita or Zoe.

Now the major media new sources are doing pieces on this and misrepresenting it. You have people like Joss Whedon who nothing about it, misrepresenting it, which helps NOTHING at this point. No one likes to do research in this country and would rather just push their agenda, no matter what.
  12. Engel added a post in a topic Krepo nooooooo ;-;

That sucks considering Kreppo usually is one of the brighter spots of EG even during their bad run. We'll see what happens, but I don't know what support EG could look at bringing in to replace him.
  13. Engel added a post in a topic Curse finally got their ADC :)

Don't think Piglett can carry that whole team... still think TSM and C9 are the teams to beat in NA
  14. Engel added a post in a topic 2014 WC Winners

Yeah they are pretty far behind. Honestly, if you look at the two environments and how they handle being a pro gamer, it's a huge, huge difference in the way they treat streaming, practices and so forth. The other regions really have to almost follow the way KR does things. Now granted, that's not with every game, but with LoL there is a huge gab and obviously you saw it in BW/SC2, with very few notable exceptions who were able to find some success against Koreans(Scarlett, Ret, Naniwa, etc), but even then, they couldn't win the championships like the KR players could.

We'll see what happens, especially with the way OGN is changing things up in the next season.
