  1. I don't think that's right at all... Hackers who can see the map / see production tab have an insane advantage and you really don't need to be that good with hacks to win. Take ZvZ for instance, a matchup that probably takes the most scouting to know when to drone / make units or scout their tech (ie muta infestor roach mass lings etc), what if you could devote all of those APM to just hitting injects and doing your build since you know EXACTLY what your opponent is doing ? What about getting a BO win every single zvz opener ? (10 pool vs 15 hatch, 15 hatch vs pool first etc.) My opinions, at least. Edit: Spelling
  2. NP man, if you have more questions hit me up on here or shoot me an email toxsik@z33k.com.
  3. Hey! There are quite a few gas styles revolving around the ZvP match-up at the moment, but I will explain the one I find the best. Basically, you need to practice droning/not getting supply blocked until you can hit 70 food (about 60-65 drones and 4 geysers + macro hatch) by the 8-9 minute mark. Here is a really strong basic opener that I have stolen from stephano: 14-15pool 16hatch (Take this at the third if he pylon blocks you and he is FOR SURE forge Fast expanding, if you can't scout him with ovy's, wait for 4 lings out to kill pylon and expand on 20-21) Take your third hatch around 23-25 supply before the /26 overlord At around 6 minutes, you should have 40 supply. You want to make sure you are hitting the timings well enough to hit 40 food at 6 minutes for these gas timings to be really effective. Around 6 minutes/36-44 food, you want to take 2 gas. From this point, your gas timings will be spent/more geysers taken as followed: First 100 Lair -> Take a third gas -> start ling speed -> +1range (Or carapace, if you prefer that) -> 4th gas when +1 range on the way -> macro hatch when you hit 70 supply -> Roach speed + burrow on lair completion -> make nothing but roach ling to deny third/hold the two base aggression. If you know he is taking a fast third, roach ling drops work wonders as we saw idra do last weekend at HSC. Vs sentry immortal, spreading and getting a good surround is KEY to winning the fight. If you do not do this, you will not win the engagement. Best of luck!
  4. You pretty much answered your own question. People do this because they enjoy a nice 90% win rate versus GMs. Some players also monetize this by boosting accounts into GM etc. or getting good reputations to join good teams since their ladder rank is so good. Eventually, they'll be caught, but they can simply make a new ID and start over from scratch once their account is banned. To be honest though, until Blizzard gets their warden for sc2 in some decent shape and can actually start detecting these, manually finding and reporting them is a pain and something I [personally] don't have any interest in doing.
  5. Oh hai there.

  6. I can't play for the next week but soon, sure you can observe some of my games or tune into my stream. In the meantime, there is a great article over on EG that explains current ZvZ, most of it I agree with ! http://evilgeniuses.net/the-state-of-zvz-idras-thoughts-on-the-metagame/
  7. Once you buy the game, I would honestly just join 1v1 Peepmode lobbies and just observe people playing, get a feel for general tactics and how the game works. If you have no RTS expereience, it will seem daunting at first, but if you've played sc1 dota hon LoL etc. you will have a little advantage. There is also quite a huge community for sc2 (reddit.com/r/starcraft, twitch.tv, etc.) Watch 1v1 obs, decide your race, and start looking at pros and figuring out how to improve! gl d00d!
  8. Well then as far as mentors, you can choose to adopt RuFF's strats or (what I would do) copy some pro player builds. I would recommend copying GSL builds, there are quite a few terrans over in Korea
  9. Best way to link VODS from Xsplit to Youtube is like this: 1) Start streaming 2) Play a sick game 3) Stop streaming 4) Wait for VOD 5) Export to your youtube channel through twitch 6) PROFIT $$$$$$$$$$
  10. Add me! vVvToXSiK.352
  11. I got #1 GM on Arcade Beta 6 times, I was so proud! xD No but really, the UI is really nice and I wish they would switch to it already ~_~ The current UI is clunky and ugly compared to this.
  12. Seo is on xSix now. I don't know if it's competitive or not, but, in my opinion, the SEA site banning players that don't live in SEA is completely rediculous (If I'm understanding this correctly). Like, how many Koreans play in NA/EU playhems ? A LOT. If they want to deal with the extra lag, and if Blizzard is dumb enough to not allow region switching, why should someone be discriminated against for being from a different country? Just a stupid rule that he probably wasnt' even aware of at the time, sad to see him go, he was a monster terran and losing him was insanely detrimental to the team {T~T} Best of luck to him and his studies/sc2 career.
  13. Here's zerg in a nutshell: ZvT: 15 hatch, four queens, make sure he's not all inning you, build a third and double evo chambers, you want ling -> infestor -> ultras-> broods. ZvP: Oh, you forge FE'd? Cool. 15 pool 16 hatch ~23 food third base. Drone up like a crazy man with the SD keys on turbo and start making roaches and lings to hold an all in. Oh, you're taking a third ? Okay, four base broods. ZvZ: 10p > 15h > 14/14 > 10p. Oh, you're behind ? GL! Oh, you got an advantage! Awesome, you can make mutas on two bases then take a third, make lings infestors and take a third, or take a really fast third and go mass roaches, your pick! gl d00d! ;D
  14. June updates seemed pretty balanced, I think NA terran need to figure out that hellions are bad now, unless they make a lot of them, and realize that bio is the way to open. With queens being insanely slow and most zergs opening delayed gas, you can get complete map control with just marines, so why not push for a strong later game by building marines from the start instead of hellions which end up delaying upgrades/bio count? Just imo
