  1. Having a high Ping in game?

Hmm, I'll give it a go; thanks!
  2. What would improve Aion?

oh - and add bigger, easier to see health bars.
  3. What would improve Aion?

There are quite a few animations that gladiators have that are not cancellable unless you glitch out of them. edit - not to mention, you shouldn't have to resort to timing something to .1 second to glitch out of attack animations regardless. Also, if you're trying to chain, even if you cancel the animation - you still have the same delay as if you did not cancel on the faster animated attacks
  4. What would improve Aion?

I posted this a few weeks ago on the main aion suggestion box forum. Some are removed. It's a straight copy paste though, so if there may be some formatting issues. 1. Logging out/DC's: Thisis a big one for me. I'm playing on wireless and at times theconnection resets. When it tells me that I have been disconnected, itproceeds to quit the game completely. I then have to reopen my ncsoftclient or find my icon on the desktop/quicklaunch panel. Why does it not go back to the log in screen? I do not see a point in it completely closing. 2. Broker a) I understand the caps necessities and LOVE the search functionality itgives. However, it would be nice if it could do a regular lower case search as well. Can we have a "neutral" broker, where both sides can buy items from? c) Can we get a feature to allow us to buy extra broker space much like we do to increase our warehouse and cubes? 3. MODEL SIZE: The slim models are somewhat hard to mouse over. Yesterday I literally spent about 2 minutes trying to chase down a quest issuer that was right next to me due to the clicking always being .5mm's off of it. Perhaps widen the 'clicking' area of quest givers in general instead of only being able to click on their body? The NPC's we can fight have a much larger clicking area compared to other players or our own guards/npc's. 4. Forums: a) I just don't quite understand why we have to go to 3rd party websites to get information that should readily be available for us here and to talk to actual developers/moderators. Overhaul is needed for the following issues: 1. When people reply in a topic, it should be bumped to the top of the subforum 2.Please fix the navigation. If you are reading a post, the only way toget back to the subforum is either by repeatedly clicking back, or going through from the main forum page to that subforum. Not the endof the world, but frustrating and an easy fix. 3. This just may be me, but from my computer at home (firefox) and the computer here at my office (google chrome), after editing a post, it shows up that the post was "not found" yet it still shows up correctly edited afterwards in the main topic list. 6. Animation cancelling: What's the point of having to watch all of the animations? If people want to,it should be allowed. But if I'm (literally /)sitting there and want to jump up or using attack combos, please either a) speed up the animation so we don't spend 3 seconds literally self-disabled, or get rid of it completely Also - Why is it that if we choose to glide with out weapon out it sheathes it instantly, but it does not unsheath instantly after we land? 7. Offensive/Defensive figures (crit, etc): I get the number, it is very important to have a hard number. However, can we please see a % figure added in, maybe as we mouse over it or a seperate category completely? 8. DPS/HPS & Threat meters: All of these are needed, especially when we can't use 3rd party addons. We have numbers being shown in the chat log meaning that it's very possible and fairly simple to do (at least the dps/hps meters, the threat might be a tad more difficult) Suggestion noted by comgetsom: For the DPS/Threat Meters, i am fine with that so tanks can see how much threat they have and us DPSers can improve but if you ever decide to implement an API for LUA(most common scripting language) make the API very strict. It ruins the game when scripters create Addons to auto cast buffs, autocast spells when party members are low on health or when you need to dispel a debuff. What next move a boss is going to make, cooldown timer, etc. 9. Gathering: Why do I need a seperate slot in my inventory to gather something I already have a stack of? Change something about how things are gathered, I don't much like the fact that you can run up to someone and gather their whatever it is in between their tries. Maybe have it so you automatically start gathering again after you are done with the first one provided you have space (since having space is CLEARLY an important part...)? 11. Chat related: a.Give us a way to select more than 1 person to delete from the blocklist please. PLEASE do not have a remove all button as if you have multiple people you have blocked for a good reason, you have to re-block them all over again. b.Let us send friend invites to people that are offline. They can look at the friend request when they log on and can determine if they want to add the person or not. 12. Interface related: Please give us an option to remember our user name and/or password in game. 13. Loot: Please add a need roll function. I have already been in parties where people roll and do not give up the item after being asked, not to mention people that roll on BOP items because they "roll on everything and then give it out if people ask them to" **I'm aware that people may cry "well don't group with them!", but that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The notion is the same as trying tot ell the govt' not to bail out companies while they hold retreats and management vacations. You WILL run into them and you WILL get pissed off about it. It's not a super difficult task to add in another roll. Also, it makes things go faster and more smoothly. 14. Private stores: Please give us an option to remove the chat words for stores on our own screens. To justify the hit to the visibility issue, maybe make it more obvious that someone is running a store. 15. Mail: Please give us the following: a) Mass mailing tools (as in, multiple items) A CoD option for items. 16. Mob tagging (quest related) I have done a couple quests now where you need to "summon" someone. Upon summoning, your item is then destroyed. Both times, even though there was a line I have seen, and once been a victim of people stealing that summon. In turn, you need to abandon the quest, run all the way back to regain it and try it again. I'm fine with the normal mob kills, I understand it's common if not necessary late game (according to what I've read). But the quest credit is pretty absurd. Also, the mob does not attack the player who summoned him, but rather - the player that is closest to it. 17. Camera: Please fix the camera to not have to be anchored to land masses (meaning - you shouldn't have to click on land to rotate the camera), Also, a fix to click-view changing in general would be appreciated as it is somewhat buggy atm. MISC BUG NOTICES: When you do certain quests (timed or work orders so far noticed) and fail them, if they require you to gather items or etc., you keep the items after you failed or abandoned the quest.
  5. Sidelined Until Lag Issues Are Fixed

I'm having a boatload of lag as well and is the major reason I haven't really been on for much. Hope they fix it soon...
  6. The end of all stat guides!

http://www.aionsource.com/forum/mechanic-analysis/42597-character-stats-xp-dp-origin-gerbator-team-july-2009-a.html Basically talks about everything from exp. gain, to stacking certain numbers (crit/evade etc.) to just about everything. Great for casuals, to theory crafting and elitists alike.
  7. A few Templar guides

http://flyingbishounen.blogspot.com/2009/09/shining-slash-open-beta-edition-part-5.html ^ Overview on some tanking numbers for parry/evasion and general numbers to strive for to achieve max avoidance etc. http://na.aiononline.com/forums/class/templar/view?articleID=175 ^ overall tanking guide. Most of it is somewhat common sense, but as you know - repetition is the mother of learning. Some useful things in here as well. http://na.aiononline.com/forums/class/templar/view?articleID=156 ^ Another general guide and some general numbers.
  8. Free inventory expansion quest

I found this walk-through a few days ago to expand your cube to its full potential. http://aioninsider.com/game-mechanics/the-cube-expanding-your-inventory-in-aion/ looks very helpful as well, for anyone that wants to do it - it covers all cube expansions up to 81 total slots!
  9. Jerith's Metal Barriers of Protecting Yo' Ass

The only thing I can think of to make it better would be to include links to the items (perhaps from aionarmory.com), or add in the mouse over for their stats. It's not really a big deal and would be quite a lot of time (relatively speaking) to do it, but thought I may mention it, it already looks amazing anyways - great work!
  10. Guide to Aether Extraction

This is awesome, I neglected my aether gathering at the lower levels, totally using this to get it up
  11. Blazek's Leveling Guide

It's not as much as a problem, but as you hit 14, you get a few extra quests that open up which are in the areas of the level 13 quests. Thus, if you go straight at it from 13, you'll have to go there and back an extra time.
  12. My experience in crafting from wow (sorry for the W word :x) If you are in a guild, you are acknowledging to be a part of something bigger than yourself. With people helping you out, it is nearly expected (and in some cases demanded) that you offer something back to the community that bettered you. That being said, without knowing the full circumstances of this post, what I may be talking about may not be on topic, but I will state my opinion anyways. If a guild helps you to get to your level - whether through sending you mats, letting you craft them things for their mats so you get points skill-ups instead of going to somebody else, or sending you recipes to better yourself, you owe the guild. There are also certain cases where the item you are crafting is NOT for guild betterment, then it makes some sense to charge for it (although I have never even seen this happen in guilds I have been a part of). You have plenty of time and space to make money outside of your guild. In-game, your guild should be effectively your family. You have the ability to charge thousands of other players to make profit. Will not getting a tip from guildies really make a difference? - In fact, let me touch on the tip issue. If it's a tip, that's exactly what it is. It is NOT a mandatory fee that people pay. All the people that say -- your mats + tip really kind of frustrate me. I have no problem giving you a certain amount to make the item for me, but when it is a mandatory condition, it is not a TIP but in fact is a FEE. Back on topic - In the guilds that I have been in, nobody has ever charged me for anything I provided mats for. However, whenever we did raiding/grouping of any kind - we had responsibilities to bring our own consumables (pots, food, etc.). If people forgot them they could ask others for some extra ones, but THOSE were at times (very rarely, but still!) charged for. Unless of course, you had your own mats and you just forgot to get them crafted.
  13. Blazek's Leveling Guide

I think it's faster if you hit to 14 before you go to moswood and then later hit 18 before you start on the impetusium / BC quests.
  14. WoW vs Aion

Few things I noticed / want to touch upon. 1st) 1st) There are roughly the same amount of classes wow - priest, rogue, hunter, paladin, shaman, druid, warrior, mage, warlock and DK (10) aion - 8 With most classes dual classing to be the exact same as other classes - you CAN say that effectively, there are really 8 classes in wow (if you look at roles/certain abilities) In aion, no 2 things can really do the same job, everyone is good for something. In wow, that is not the case. Many classes are able to do a job of many others. 2nd) Lots of stuff to do/content Unfair comparison. When you look at when WoW was released (fair comparison), there was not many instances at all and a lot of 'dead spots' which were much more sporadic than Aion is with instances / leveling. As far as content goes, again - original wow had MC and I believe BWL? (if that was even out from the beginning, I have some small doubts) for endgame. That was it. PVP was horribly imba and terrible. Now, there is more content in WoW, BUT the content depth is worse than the original WoW had (example - 99% of fights are tank and spank, with the other 1% including a couple extra adds and staying out of the fire). The content will come, they have already been discussing it on certain forums (Sorry I do not quite have the time to look up the exact posts, but I believe it was on aion armory (curse) site). Paying 15$ for WoW is basically running around on welfare in a communistic game. Nearly everything penalizes a lot of time input. Heroic bosses are easily doable after a few days of running non-heroic instances. The more casual players are given nearly free items that almost match the gear granted by people putting in 10x the amount of time. For my own review I will say this: If you don't have much time to spend playing games, WoW maybe better. You will not really feel a sense of accomplishment like you once did with early versions of wow when you finish new content however, but it will take you much less time to do so than with Aion. Customization and certain perks are better/less frustrating in wow. These include attack animation cancelling, no auto closing upon disconnecting, customizable UI and addons (aion is revisiting the idea of allowing addons anyways though). PvP in aion is going to be far more dynamic and involved in WoW. There isn't really a strong comparison I can make for this point, but I am sure that 99.9% of people will agree with me on this point. Graphically, WoW does not come close at ALL to Aion and they have made no real improvements in any of their expansions. As far as a trial goes, there have been a few people that have had success getting a trial version by downloading/installing the chinese version. There is an english mod you can get for it and essentially that will be your trial version. HOWEVER, I do believe that the trial is limited to either a certain level or a certain area. The game does not quite begin until 25 and everything changes from 1-10/11-25/25+ brackets. To make a real decision, if possible, learn to play a class in wow. Do some endgame raiding using your friends accounts if possible. Do the same with Aion, make your choice thusly. The only thing really is that WoW will not get any real new cool features as everything at this point is pretty much just regurgitation (even weapon/armor names) where as Aion has a ton of potential that I would imagine will be realized, if not for only making the community happy/the game better, for profit to NCSoft.
