We have moved to Discord   08/04/2016

There has been a strong desire among the community to migrate to Discord for quite some time. As of today, our community will be using Discord and as a result, we will no longer be actively using our TeamSpeak Server.  The TeamSpeak server will temporarily stay active to help inform all of our move to Discord. Within the next couple of months, it will be shut down completely.  For a quick invite to our new Discord server, you can click here.

  1. Have you wondered as of late why people do some of the things they do? Take me for instance, I have a well-paid job for my age and work experience. There is a full career ahead of me. I also have a very specific set of tools within my belt that would allow me to join any community on the internet that I wish and yet I choose to stick with vVv Gaming. Why? The answer to this question is actually rather simple, it is one word that was spoken to me a few days ago by vVv JasonParadise. Roots. He told me, you’ve got to remember your roots. Whether I have realized this just a few days ago or have known it all along, the truth stands. The force that drives me to lead vVv Gaming is that I want to give back the opportunities to those around me that have been given to me. I want the place that has started it all for me be the place that starts it all for you. vVv Gaming has had many talented individuals pass through. If you take our owners, for instance, vVv LordJerith, vVv Doomhammer, and vVv RobZGod, they have started their gaming careers at vVv Gaming. They are now at Wargaming.net, and previously Riot Games. Heck vVv Lord Jerith doesn’t just work there now, he is an executive! To me that is incredible, to me that is inspiring and to be fully honest, I’m a little envious that they were able to do so much with vVv Gaming that it lead their life on a path to what I am considering a paradise. Even more amazing I find is that they still find time in the day to offer me advice and guidance when I need it. We have had individuals start their careers at vVv Gaming and end up at Riot, Ubisoft, Curse, Naughty Dog, and even on the main stage of RLCS! Looking at Liefx and Lawler, I cannot be more proud of these two amazing individuals, who started their casting career with Season 2 of Supersonic Series and are now casting on the biggest stage Rocket League has to offer. It really makes me happy to hear stories like this. I can go on for few pages as to why vVv Gaming is awesome, I can talk about how the leadership opportunities given to me here have helped me reach the potential of what I am capable of. I can tell you about an angry kid who lashed out at his clanmates over stupidest of things because he did not know how to handle pointless drama in an online gaming guild. This angry kid is by no means perfect today, he is a grown man who, like all of us, has a lot of learning and growing up to do. However, thanks to the guidance he has acquired within vVv gaming, he has learned many great qualities that come with being a leader. He also has a message for you all and I would be honored if you would pay close attention to what he has to say: Each person is good at something, in fact, everyone is good at more than just one thing. It sometimes takes the right environment to bring those skills to light. It can take a lot of encouragement, friendship, and hard work to show the world your true potential. I have found mine thanks to the opportunities and support given to me here at vVv Gaming. As such I would like to help you find yours. There are mentors here who will help you learn, who will help you get on the right path. There are also numerous individuals here who just want to be your friends, because after all, what are gaming communities if not a group of friends who share common interests and are there for each other through the good and through the bad. Why should you join vVv Gaming? To better yourself and people around you. To make friends for life and to create an environment that will live on to help future generations find their talents and survive in the cruel world that we know as the Internet. I am vVv Bagzli, a proud member of vVv Gaming, and I urge you to not sell yourself short. To not allow others tell you that you can’t do it. If you have a passion for gaming and if you want to fill your belts with tools that we can offer, then hop in our Discord and chat with us. Tell us that you want to get involved, tell us what you are passionate about and then if you are ready to put in the hard work, we will help you thrive.

  6. Name: Nicholas Wayne Slagle Age: 22 Location: Buda, Texas Steam profile link: http://steamcommunity.com/id/MadMadMugen/ Battle.Net Tag: Mugen#11350 What is the game you are currently most active in and why? (only name one game) Rocket League. The community makes the game playable, I'm super competitive and I excel at playing the game more than any other game. What are some other games that you currently play? H1Z1, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Battlefield (all), Overwatch, Golf with Friends, Arma 3, Shellshock Live, and most importantly Skyrim (this game means a lot to me, I've been a part of the Nexus modding community for a long time. I haven't created mods since I don't have the skill set for that but I am constantly an active part of the community's feedback and support. Skyrim in my opinion is one of the greatest games ever made even though it's birth year is only 2011. I am very enthusiastic about this game and could talk for hours on end about it.) How did you hear about vVv Gaming? Were you referred to the site? If so, by whom? I originally played rocket league on ps4 and wanted to upgrade my gaming platform so I got a pc and the first game on pc I got was Rocket League. Eventually I met new people and friends and was invited to play in the Monday night draft several months back. I cannot remember who referenced me to vVv. Who do you currently know in vVv Gaming? How did you get to know them? Petey, Bliss, Broba, Syracuse, Pretzl, Mohulis, Bagzli all I met from Rocket League or Overwatch while spending time in the vVv discord chat channels. All of which I've spent lots of time with and greatly enjoyed their company. If I had to say what makes me want to join vVv I would say that it is because of these people I have listed more than anything else. Why are you interested in joining vVv Gaming? I've never been a dedicated member of a community this large and I'm curious to see what it has to offer. I have no real ambitions for joining since I am unfamiliar with what gaming communities typically do, but Bagzli made it sound pretty badas* What are your hobbies and interests outside of gaming? I enjoy hunting and the outdoors (I work at Cabela's which is a huge outdoor sport store as an inventory specialist), I love love love anime. Like I've seen probably 400+ different shows..... #weebstatus How do you plan to add value to vVv Gaming? I'm not sure what I can offer to this community apart from my loyalty and some time to be a part of it, I'm unsure if my skills can be useful but if they can be used for the development of any aspect within the community then I'd be happy to bring forth my talents to the best of my abilities. Apart from just gaming I consider myself to be well educated and very analytic, I often find myself as a mediator between conflicts of interest since I am able to remain objective and unbiased on most subject matters. When I was 21 years old I worked as an assistant manager at Radio Shack for 3 years, so I believe I have a strong sense of duty and an ability to lead others as well as take direction and constructive criticism well (I, in fact, enjoy hearing the constructive opinions of others). I'm sure there is more I could offer and should I be needed, I feel comfortable enough to state here in this application that you may count on me to do my best for this community - whatever it may be. I also might be able to continue, at the very least, as a caster for some of the rocket league related live streams. I am currently a complete novice at the casting process but I feel comfortable with learning the trade from those within this community and I feel confident in my exponential growth as a caster. That being said, I am still unsure as to how I feel about continuing this path for vVv since I have spent so little time with it, however if I decide that I will not continue this path I will give the appropriate higher-up significant notice before I completely resign from that role. Do you attend LAN Events? As I am going to school and paying as well as working money for me is a little constricting so I am only able to be a part of LAN events around my area, in fact this month Austin is hosting the South By South West festival where Rocket League and many other games will be showcased in a LAN setting that I will be visiting! Basically if I have the ability and familiarity with the LAN event I am usually willing to go. Will you be meeting with us in person at PAX SOUTH in January of 2017? I believe this question should answer itself considering the time frame for which I am currently going to post this application...

  7. I, vVv Petey, endorse Mugen! How much time have you spent with the applicant, in-game or out? Mugen and I have been playing together off and on for a few months now. Since I've been around vVv Gaming so has he. Everyone now and then we play 2s or 3s in Rocket League. Now i just enjoy listening to his voice while he is casting What was your first impression of the community member? Did it change at all over time? If so, how? First impression of Mugen, very calm mellow down to earth player. As i grew to learn he can be loud when missing shots in Rocket League and can be salty when losing What was your favorite moment with them (in-game or out)? Not really a favorite "moment". But, when mugen whiffs or misses in rocket league or golf with friends he likes to scream loudly like a girl. Makes me laugh everytime. What makes this applicant a good fit for vVv Gaming? He brings value to vVv Gaming when he casts. Being a caster helps vVv Gaming out tremendously, especially when we are in need of casters. How could they improve to be a better potential community member? Be more active on the discord in the hangout area so when people join and have question he can answer them all instead of me and moh Anything else we should know about this applicant? Any skills or talents that no one else knows yet? Everyone else knows except him, he is very good at casting, especially analyzing plays and breaking them down on what happened.

  10. I, vVv Mohulis, endorse Deathsgrasp! How much time have you spent with the applicant, in-game or out? I've spent a fair bit of time with him, both in and out of Rocket League. What was your first impression of the community member? Did it change at all over time? If so, how? Super friendly as a person in general, but I noticed he was very accepting to teammates no matter how good at RL they were. He's continued to be this way as long as I've known him. What was your favorite moment with them (in-game or out)? It wasn't really one moment, but during Season 4 of the Supersonic Series his weekly fight for the top of the Draft leaderboards was pretty hilarious to watch. What makes this applicant a good fit for vVv Gaming? He is active in our discord, frequently looking for or playing with others, and friendly. How could they improve to be a better potential community member? Win more often. j/k || Attend/help with more of our tourneys. Anything else we should know about this applicant? Any skills or talents that no one else knows yet? Nothing that currently comes to mind.

  11. The reasons I am proud to display the V's in front of my name are simple. I was someone who had a passion for this game of soccer played by cars, I wanted an outlet to send that passion through and make it grow even bigger. Bagzli trusted me enough to let me try my hand at sharing my passion for Rocket League here and in the few short months that I have been here I truly feel like myself again. I've struggled through some pretty rough stuff in my life but vVv introduced into my life a place to call home. I've helped us try to become bigger in the community for the game as a whole and I want to show everyone how amazing everyone here is. This community is one of the best I've seen and I really do love it here. Thanks especially to Bagzli for giving me a chance and helping me to grow in the role that I play here. I remember my first experience of seeing what vVv Gaming was all about and that was actually going through and watching the video about what vVv is. I was so inspired by everything that I saw that I just had to become a member. Now, I'm the stream coordinator and, while its not always easy, the feeling of seeing something that I've worked so hard to put together, whether it's one of our tournament streams or being on staff for the RLXL event last year, is something that I've never felt before and it was amazing. I love what I've done here and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

  15. well I know I'm not an official member yet but I just wanted to put my 2 cents in. why do I love vVv gaming? well, I haven't had the pleasure of being introduced to the all the old vets here but from the members, i have had the pleasure of talking too I must say. vVv member is some of the most welcoming and just straight forward people iv met in any community. sift through all the jokes and tomfoolery and you've got people who enjoy playing games and who are always open for conversations. (no matter how drunk I may be at the momment! ;D) then on top of that if you have any questions, no matter how trivial, they are always around to help out. anything from finding a team to improving your gameplay they not only will help coach you but will do so happy and willingly. I look forward to bolstering the vVv ranks and just having fun with all of you! I may not be a member yet but this is why I love vVv gaming. Cheers!

  16. Great read Bagz. Your particularly long posts are always awesome to read. But I'm going to take your post one step further. I CHALLENGE current vVv members to reply with why they love being a member. I have always been an explorer. No MMO ever has a class that I can play for more than a day or two. vVv Gaming has been a home now three years. I've been a member for about two and a half years. Every time I get an idea, I try to make it happen. Whether it be failing to start new divisions (reference Nosgoth and Heroes of the Storm), threw my hand at managing the Social Media accounts (I think Medusa and Robz can understand) and attempting to lead the Supersonic Series. Every time I've convinced myself to jump at a new project, vVv Members have always been there for me. Mentoring me to learn best practices, giving me people to look up to (LordJerith and Paradise), and goals to aspire to live out. Consider this my experiment to find my talents, I know I'm good at something, but I haven't quite found it yet. Consider this post my gratitude to awesome people I've met along the way. LordJerith for your unrivaled honesty, you truly are someone I look up to as a role model. Rob, you didn't quit on me when I struggled with handling the social media accounts, for that I thank you. Medusa for kicking my ass in gear to put my very best in everything I did. And Bagzli, for pushing me to be the very best version of me, no amount of thank's can ever give back the amount of time, patience, and energy you've given me. For that, I call you all friends, family, and people to aspire to become. For the next few months, I know I will be inactive. However, when I return from my study abroad, expect a new Saturn. That is why I love vVv Gaming. That is why I am proud to be a vVv Member. And that is why vVv Gaming is the best fucking gaming community in the world.

  17. This thread hasn't been active since October xD. I think everyone realized "Oh yeah, finally a GoW for PC" turned into "Oh yeah, they made a GoW for Xbox and threw in a PC port because that's where everyone's at with no intention of taking it anywhere."

  19. *takes a deep breath and begins* well i work in the textile industry which in the usa is a bit odd considering its mostly outsourced to china these days, but hopefully trump will do something useful and use incentives to bring those jobs back which in my case will be great. now, i dont have a degree what i do have is work experience in just about every single area in the industry. from spreading fabric, to cutting it, to putting it into a sewing line to inspection, to even screen printing, and finally shipping it off to customers. I know how everything operates and how it should be controlled. not to mention i have already established contacts which in my opinion is better than a degree in most situations. so to finally answer your question. if 5 years i see myself in an operations manager position controlling everything from orders to shipping and everything in between. however, depending on life i might just end up over either spreading and cutting or shipping as i am currently the supervisor of both and i dont see my father in law choosing me over his son anyday soon ;D but in the mean time i learn everything i can so if any job opprotunities in the future present themselves ill be a great candidate with all my experience in all areas. *finally exhales* lol if yall cant tell i suck grammatically please dont judge run on sentences are my favorite! NEXT QUESTION >=D

  20. I, vVv Petey, endorse Deathsgrasp! How much time have you spent with the applicant, in-game or out? Been playing Rocket League with Death for a couple months. Actually I met him when I was a applicant. What was your first impression of the community member? Did it change at all over time? If so, how? I wasnt so hot at Rocket League when I joined the community so I was excited to play with anyone better than me. Death was easy to get along with and will play with anyone so I enjoyed his company. What was your favorite moment with them (in-game or out)? The other week I did a Viewer Games Stream and he joined, we played Turtle only game play and that was hilarious to play. What makes this applicant a good fit for vVv Gaming? He is always in discord waiting for people to join in and play with him. Very friendly guy too. How could they improve to be a better potential community member? Post on the forums and attend more of our tournaments. Anything else we should know about this applicant? Any skills or talents that no one else knows yet? Well he is in the military so I believe his has what takes to bring some new talent and ideas to the table.

  22. If you could be anything/anyone in the world! What would it be? Job, Trade with person, or trade to be something. i would say a literal gaming potato but i already am that... soooo... i would say an undercover lottery winner... that way i wouldn't have to work my ass off like i do now and i could just invest into stocks and maybe a company or 2 then id just move into probably sub 2k square foot house and pretend i work for a bank... id do all the research and maybe even take a class or 2 just so i can use it in social situations while i secretly don't do shit all day... might even get a minimum wage part time job or something just to start on another cover if i get bored (plumber, electrician , janitor etc)... probably change my name just to be safe... im a man of simple tastes and manage money well so i think that would be enough to entertain me...

There are many ways to add value: creating content for our partnered YouTube channel, having a strong social media presence with appropriate vVv Branding on your profile, being social on our forums and helpful to aspiring players and applicants to even just donating. To see the full list of ways to add value click here. If you are unsure of how you can add value, reach out to the community for help. Excellence: There are two ways to demonstrate excellence in vVv Gaming. The first way representing our brand and community professionally at major lan events. The second way is by being a passionate community member that excels at adding value to vVv Gaming. Diversity: vVv Gaming is a diverse community. We also welcome people who are passionate about a variety of games, the key feature of vVv is our diverse community! Instead of forming rivalries among the different games we play, we should be excited that we have such a varying group of people who can all come together as part of something great. That's what makes vVv Gaming such a fantastic place to be! Chain of Command: If you have a problem with someone, please talk to them directly and IN PRIVATE. Always start with the person that you are having the problem with. DO NOT bring it to the Shoutbox or post about your problem. If you can't resolve it, then bring it to staff. Sponsors: Just as you have to add value to vVv, so does vVv Gaming have to add value to its sponsors. In order for vVv Gaming to support the best gamers and provide our community with events, opportunities and contests, you need to show them that you care. Represent their products, promote them and spread the word by supporting their social media initiatives.
