(31 March 2015 - 03:43 PM)Some ISPs put an artificial cap on your bandwidth for certain services. For example I have Verizon FIOS which gives me 25 up and 25 down, but I can't stream with it at super high quality because they put a cap on how much of that I can use at once for streaming
(31 March 2015 - 03:36 PM)@boever it's the size of the pipe. So if you only have 4 up you can only send 4 Gb of data at once, but if you want to stream say at 1080 + have the game traffic it probably takes like 6 Gbps, so you won't be able to stream at that quality because you can't fit all the data into the pipe at once
(31 March 2015 - 03:32 PM)For gaming no, you're mixing bandwidth vs latency. Light only travels so fast so even if you have the best possible connection it still takes around ~200ms for it to cross the atlantic and hit the host in the US and back
