This weekend marks the next stage in the 2015 Road to BlizzCon Heroes of the Storm World Championship. China already punched in their two tickets to BlizzCon for eStar Gaming and Team YL, it’s now time to focus on the Americas Championship. The 2015 Americas Championship is being held September 19-20 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Teams from all over North America, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Australia & New Zealand will come together to battle it out in the Nexus for top glory and a trip to BlizzCon.
The group stage of the tournament is different than most group stages out there. According to Reddit User eSportsMatt (Blizzard eSports Coordinator) the group stage can be considered “a double elimination bracket with a twist”. Reddit user TheBrillo made a chart that gives a nice breakdown here:
In Group A, the first matches will consist of Tempo Storm vs Murloc Geniuses and Immunity vs Cloud 9. The winner of each match will move onto the “Winner’s Finals” of Group A and the losers go to the “Elimination Game” with the loser exiting the tournament. The winner of “Winner’s Finals” moves onto one side of the playoff bracket, loser drops to the “Lower Finals” where they will face the winner of the “Elimination Game” with the loser taking their exit. Winner of the “Lower Finals” moves onto the complete other side of the playoff bracket from their group-mate.
The same format takes place in Group B with the first matches taking place after the Group A elimination game. The matchups for Group B are Relics vs COGnitive and Furious Gaming vs Complexity. Saturday ends with both Group A and Group B Winner’s Finals taking place. Sunday begins with both group’s Lower Finals, with the Grand Final taking place the same day. The tournament will be a Best of 3 format throughout with the exception of the Grand Finals which will be a Best of 5.
Winner takes home a share of the $100,000 USD prize purse; $40,000 to first place, $24,000 to second place, and 3rd-4th taking home $12,000 each. Along with the prize money the top two teams will get their tickets punched to BlizzCon on November 6-7th. Action starts Saturday, 10am Pacific Time on the official Blizzard Heroes of the Storm Twitch Channel (link).
Let's meet the teams competing this weekend, starting with Group A.
Tempo Storm (North America)
Dreadnaught - Support (Captain)
Arthelon - Carry
So1dier - Tank
Kaeyoh - Carry
Zuna - Flex
Tempo Storm are the unofficial powerhouse of the North America region. They qualified for the HWC Americas Championship back in June with their first place finish but then went on to finish first in the next two opens in July and August as well. As a matter of fact in the last 10 majors/minors Tempo Storm has gone on to place first in 8 of them and only dropped to 2nd place for the ones they didn't place first, pretty impressive stuff. You can thank the "star-studded" roster that Tempo Storm has managed to gather over the course of the young esports' life. Some of you may remember Arthelon as a solo queue monster in League of Legends. Some of the older players might remember him from a time before LCS when he played on teams like Monomaniac Esports and Meat Playground. Although Arthelon's League career did not amount to much, he is not unfamiliar with the idea of professionalism that is needed in an infant esport like Heroes of the Storm.
As for more star-power a lot of people will look at Zuna and ask "Hey, is that the guy from...." yes, it is. Zuna, former AD Carry of team Vulcan and XDG is no stranger either when it comes to esports. Playing on Vulcan, a team who finished 3rd in both the 2013 League of Legends LCS Spring and Summer splits, and later on XDG before the team was ultimately relegated only to never return. Despite this, Zuna showed that he can be a big time player in big time situations. Tempo Storm's victorious run can be credited to him. After Zuna joined the team on May 21st, Tempo Storm began their NA domination.
It isn’t all about the star power though. Dreadnaught, captain of the team, has shown a top notch Pick/Ban phase in almost all of their matchups. So1dier and Kaeyoh are also extremely talented and this team as a whole seems to be the favorite going into this weekend’s tournament.
Cloud 9 (North America)
DunkTrain – Support (Captain)
KingCaffeine – Tank
iDream – Carry
K1pro – Flex
Fan – Carry
Cloud 9 is another North American power that has shown some consistency in their lifetime. Although, usually taking 2nd place while Tempo Storm takes first, they are still a force to be reckoned with. Consisting of the roster formerly known as Cloud 9 Maelstrom, who after qualifying in July, dissolved Cloud 9 Vortex and unified under the singular Cloud 9 banner.
Boasting a roster of Heroes veterans, they are no strangers to the tournament scene as well. After placing first in last year’s BlizzCon exhibition tournament, Cloud 9 had a lot to replace after the departure of Zuna, Jintae, and Kenma. On July 30th, Cloud 9 settled on the roster (shown above) and has shown promise since. After the team changes, Cloud 9 has been a consistent top 3 threat in North America, winning the latest Heroes Major League hosted by ESL.
With this young and promising roster, Cloud 9 is looking to secure one of the two spots for BlizzCon in hopes of accomplishing their championship dreams.
Murloc Geniuses (North America)
Faye – Carry
CauthonLuck – Carry
MadTiimmy – Support (Captain)
Equinox – Flex
Fury - Tank
Formerly of the team Evil Geniuses in the 2014 BlizzCon Heroes of the Storm show match, MG has gone through a lot of changes since April 1st. Coined “The Challengers” by Josh Bury of theScore eSports (http://www.thescoreesports.com/news/2383) the roster was acquired by Zeveron before the June/July/August NA Open events. Before the August Open, Zeveron disbanded and once again took up the name Murloc Geniuses. Although one of the top 5 teams in North America, MG have not had much in the way of success as of late. More or less “backing into” the America Qualifiers as the last NA spot because the teams ahead of them had already placed; first place Tempo Storm, second place Cloud 9, and Complexity finishing 3rd.
Despite the team changes and struggles throughout 2015, MG are looking to have a strong showing and hopefully make it out of Group A.
Team Immunity (Australia)
Shy – Carry (Captain)
Robadobah – Tank
Sashin – Flex
Naeiou – Flex
Enalgon - Support
Team Immunity, unifying after their victory in the AU & NZ qualifiers (formerly Immunity White), are the champions of the AU & NZ region and are looking to represent the two Pacific Island nations in Las Vegas. While the team itself is fairly new, and the region itself is substantially weaker than the world as a whole, Team Immunity bring a fairly interesting playstyle to the Storm. Having two preferred Flex players versus the standard two carries that we see from other western teams brings an interesting element to their game. Being able to rotate roles of a Specialist/Carry on two members means Team Immunity can adapt quickly in a Best of 3 scenario.
Can the Aussies make it out of groups and shock North America?
COGnitive Gaming (North America)
Scylol – Tank
Hospital – Carry (Captain)
Iakona – Support
Glaurung – Flex
iVSlime – Carry
COGnitive Gaming (also known as COG) are no strangers to esports as an organization but are definitely new to the Heroes of the Storm scene. Having only acquired a roster in May, formerly known as “Shot and the Bullets: Reloaded”, the squad showed immediate promise finishing no worse than 3rd in their first 2 months together. Unfortunately after the MSI MGA 2015 Americas Qualifier the team has fallen off in terms of performance, finishing no better than 3rd. With the roster moving to San Jose, CA with apartments close by and a practice area in between them, the team has an easier way to build in-person communication which can be huge for any new lineup. The team’s hyper-aggressive style has been a treat to viewers while sometimes being a detriment to the team as well. Despite their shortcomings, the team is looking to be a favorite coming out of Group B due to their style and their practice regiment.
Is this the tournament that COG makes a resurgence and takes a top spot to prove they are among NA’s elite?
compLexity (North America)
Blinks – Support (Captain)
Trummel – Carry
CattlePillar – Tank
H0ns – Flex
Jaximus - Carry
compLexity Gaming. Another name that is very well known in the esports scene that jumps on the early HotS bandwagon. compLexity acquired the roster of “Barrel Boys” and saw a lot of success in the ESL weekly tournaments but failed to materialize any meaningful results in any monthly, minor, or major tournaments. After the departure of Erho to Stellar Lotus, the team took to Reddit to search for a replacement. Jaximus contacted the team for a tryout and was immediately a great fit for the squad.
With the addition of Jaximus the coL squad is looking stronger than ever. They are looking to make a big splash at this weekend’s event.
Revenant – Flex
Mirr – Flex
Trinity – Flex
Relyzer – Flex
Zeys – Support
The Southeast Asian qualifier, coming out of Singapore, is Relics. They are a relatively unknown name in the Western scene, pulled off an impressive performance in the SEA Qualifiers by not dropping a single game until the Grand Finals, taking out Philippines Champion Bibingka 2-1. The squad also has a lot of interesting play styles. According to GosuGamers, all players not named Zeys played some combination of a Carry, Specialist, Warrior, or Tank hero in their 6 tournament wins. So what does this mean? Well it means Relics are an unpredictable squad with an obvious amount of talent. Will their wild playstyle result in a spot at BlizzCon?
Furious Gaming (Argentina)
Nittt – Flex
Megalomaniac – Tank (Captain)
Kobu – Support
Malheven – Carry
DEUS – Carry
Furious Gaming have a very interesting story on how they got to the Americas Championship. They actually finished 3rd at the Copa America Championships last month, Brave Ozone took the top spot for the Latin America region. Unfortunately, Brave Ozone had visa issues and could not attend. In steps Furious Gaming, known for their Starcraft II clan, to try to grab a spot at BlizzCon.
Unlike North America teams, Furious Gaming love their specialists and will focus on hard pushing and gaining an early lead to stomp out their opponent.
For me, it’s an easy decision who is going to make it out of group stages in Group A. While Murloc Geniuses and Team Immunity are strong in their own right, I do not think they can hold a candle to Tempo Storm’s impressive Pick/Ban and Cloud 9’s team play.
Winner’s FInals: Tempo Storm vs Cloud 9
In the North America July Open Tempo Storm showed to be very strong, beating Cloud 9 2-0. Cloud 9, at the time Cloud 9 Maelstrom, was able to first pick away Zuna’s Zeratul in game 1 but unfortunately the “Double Mage” comp of Tempo Storm was too much to handle. Game 2 saw Cloud 9 ban out Zeratul and Tempo Storm ban out Jaina, but again Tempo Storm was too much to handle. I expect Tempo Storm to be the Group A first seed.
Elimination Game: Immunity vs Murloc Geniuses
Despite Immunity’s promise as a squad, MG just have too much experience under their belt to worry much about Immunity. MG moves on 2-1 to the Lower Finals.
Lower Finals: Cloud 9 vs Murloc Geniuses
The last time these two teams met in tournament play only once before back when MG was known as Zeveron and C9 as C9 Maelstrom. It was a close set in the opening round of the tournament and both teams have shown improvement since then. I give the favorable edge to Cloud 9 in this one based off of player skill alone. Cloud 9 grabs the second seed out of Group A with a 2-1 victory.
This one is a bit closer. COGnititve is an impressive team. They had a lot of time to prepare so I expect them to come out guns blazing in their opening group game versus Relics. Furious Gaming is a bit of an unknown, and for what it’s worth, shouldn’t technically be here anyways. There is also the big question mark about compLexity’s new carry in Jaximus. Will he be able to bring is League of Legends skill into Heroes or is there still a lot of learning to do?
Winner’s Finals: COGnitive vs compLexity
These teams have met twice before this tournament, the NA July Open and the NA August Open with both teams winning a game. Expect this to be one of the closest games of the group stage by far as both teams are fairly close in skill level and strategy. coL still has a new lineup at the end of the day and because of this I give COG the win in this very close series 2-1 and matching up against Cloud 9 in the bottom half of the playoff bracket.
Elimination Game: Relics vs Furious Gaming
Poor Furious Gaming. I mean, they were able to go to Las Vegas which is awesome. Unfortunately, the best finish they had was 3rd in a relatively weak region. Being that Relics is a bit of a wild card, I expect FG to bow out of the tournament in this game. Relic takes this series 2-0 and moves on to play compLexity in the Lower Finals.
Lower Finals: Relics vs compLexity
Relics has the potential to pull an upset here. Being a relatively unknown team they have the element of surprise with their line-up of mostly flex position players. Expect a closer series than the experts think. At the end of the day though, I have to pick coL winning 2-1 and facing Tempo Storm in the upper part of the playoff bracket.
Tempo Storm vs Cloud 9
Another rematch for these two teams. I mean, it’s hard to pick against consistency and these two teams have it. Tempo Storm consistently finished in first place with Cloud 9 consistently in second place. At this point, it’s almost irrelevant who to pick as a winner here as both teams get to go to BlizzCon on November 6-7th. For the sake of potentially being right and getting to brag (and potentially being wrong and sulking) I will have to go with Tempo Storm 3-1. Cloud 9 will make the first 2 games close, actually taking game 1. However, i think Tempo Storm is just the better team and that will show after their second series of this weekend.
Worlds 2015: Quarterfinals Fantasy Advice
Ready for the knockout rounds? The group stages were filled with plenty of exciting games, favorites and underdogs prevailing, teams from North America letting us all down, and some good fantasy picks and some bad. As in everything in life its impossible to be 100% correct on my picks everytime. I use my analysis, price points, and match ups to determine who to pick and although it doesn't always work out, the process is still correct. If we could all predict what would happen we'd all be rich. I've been getting a lot of good feedback from people and I appreciate it all. Thank you for following and reading these blogs as I enjoy putting the information out there for you to use.
Here are the odds for the quarterfinals from http://www.pinnaclesports.com/en/odds/match/e-sports/league-of-legends/league-of-legends-world-championship
Origen, SKT, EDG, and KTR are the favorites to make the Semi-Finals. That said, SKT are the only overwhelming favorite while it is certainly reasonable to think that the other three match ups can go anyway. The best probable route to go is to stack up on SKT carries (marin, faker/easyhoon, Bang) and look for values in the other roles.
Here are my favorite players for the Quarterfinals:
SKT is the best bet. Fit Faker, Marin, and Bang in wherever you can. My favorite value players come from FW in the form of Karsa and SwordArt, who has been underpriced all tournament. I have a lack of faith in the midlaners, not because of their skill but because of match ups. There are a ton of really good matchups in the midlane Nagne vs. KurO, Pawn vs. Febiven, xPeke vs. Maple. I think you either pay up for Faker or save and go with Maple, who has been great quietly great this tournament with the most kills and second most assists for any mid laner. I'm staying away from FNC and EDG for the most part. It's interesting because their players are relatively cheap, but I think this will be a really close match up that is hard to predict one way or the other. It could turn into a very objective focused series (as FNATIC does like to do this at times) which would limit fantasy output.
Top: Marin (SKT) ($1301) Jungle: Karsa (FW) ($1264) Mid: Faker/Easyhoon (SKT) ($1625) ADC: Bang (SKT) ($1514) Sup: SwordArt (FW) ($962) Flex One: GorillA (KOO) ($961) Flex Two: ssumday (KTR) ($1371) Flex Three: Score (KTR) ($1053)
You use your three SKT spots allowed on the three carries, while paying up they should be worth every penny. You also get to fit two top lane carries into your lineup with Marin and ssumday. You save by using two supports to pay up for value elsewhere, Karsa has the second most kills and third most assists among junglers and score provides a cheap jungle option even though he leads Worlds in assists from the jungle role.
Top: Marin (SKT) ($8900) Jungle: Karsa (FW) ($6500) Mid: Faker/Easyhoon (SKT) ($8800) ADC: Bang (SKT) ($9100) Sup: SwordArt (FW) ($6400) Flex: Hojin (KOO) ($7100) Team: Flash Wolves ($3000)
Again you use the three SKT carries. The rest of the lineup is quite cheap among FW players. I talked about SwordArt and Karsa above, but Hojin provides good value as his agressive style has him first in KDA among junglers at 8.4. Cheap team as always in FW, who could easily win their Best of Five against Origen.
Top: Marin (SKT) ($7700) Jungle: Karsa (FW) ($5100) Mid: Maple (FW) ($6300) ADC: Bang (SKT) ($8700) Sup: SwordArt (FW) ($4900) Flex One: Score (KTR) ($6400) Flex Two: ssumday (KTR) ($6800) Team: FNATIC ($3900)
This time you only get two SKT carries. Let's talk about that for a second. Draftkings does not combine Faker and Easyhoon into one pick, they're separated. Because of this, it's extremely risky to pick one or the other unless you are 100% sure that they are playing. If SKT vs ahq was the first match up of the week it'd be easier to get a handle on who was playing for SKT, but your lineup will lock after day one and if you stick Faker in while easyhoon is playing (or vice versa) you'll be paying the highest mid lane salary for no points. I'm going with Maple here instead and saving money. The savings go straight into ssumday to replace Faker's carry spot. With the leftover money I'm using FNATIC who are in a close matchup, but usually play objective focus in big games and that's where your team points come from.
Good luck and enjoy the Quarterfinals!
I was born always is crying for a couple of years then I finally stop, that was just do to all the things that I did went with my dad to work and hitting my hand with the hammer or when I was holding the doors smashing them on the wall. My mom was always so upset about all that but I never complained and then I really stopped crying.
Now I know what crying is really like.
On January 30, 2013 11am: I had a small fever which is nothing as most people would say, but do to how I am nothing is a small thing. About 3 hours later I started seizing and I was kinda in ball position, so nothing could be done to help me. Now the one thing about this seizure I was to On my trip to the hospital I was was in strapped down and everything like I was normally done every time I was placed in to the ambulance. Now I have arrived at the hospital, I was still seizing so the had to use a suppository, its a med that is stuck up my ass (sorry for the language) and you can tell guys its just not a fun experience.
Now I am somewhat awake and somewhat talking, but the thing is they could not get a IV in me, so they started a tactic called "Sowing". This means that the nurse just placed the IV in my arm and they can't find a vein so they are just poke the needle are round my are just like "sowing". Now after a hour of that all the fun and 4 holes in my each arms which buries in each hole, the new doctor steps in.
I will finish this in part 2.....
So some people have been asking for more insight into what goes on at the staff level, so I figured I should keep a journal of sorts talking about the types of things that I do regularly.
To start with my time has been pretty limited lately. Around November I started experiencing heart palpitations, angina, difficulty breathing, poor circulation, arhythmia, all symptoms pointing toward Coronary and Peripheral Artery Disease. Mostly this came to pass when it did due to changes that began in around 2009 or so when I injured my shoulders attempting to bench incorrectly and had to stop lifting and training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. There's not much you can do in terms of physical exercise when you can't really use your arms/shoulders, so I became pretty inactive. This wasn't good because my diet has never been very good, except for a brief period during college when I had access to the cafeteria and could just pick up healthy things to eat.
Then in 2010 SC2 came out, which I became obsessed with due to fond memories of the original SC1 that I spent a lot of time playing when I was younger. That's how I found vVv Gaming. I managed to control my weight up to this point, reaching 220 lbs around the end of summer, which is close to a healthy weight for someone who is 6'2. Then I got involved in an overtime project at work which consumed my nights and weekends for about three months. This led to me no longer controlling my diet and relying on fast food too much. By January of 2011, when the project was finished, I had shot up to about 260 lbs. I was so burnt out after spending so long working extra hours that I didn't get back into cooking and other healthy habits. I did get involved with vVv's Rift guild, and became SC2 manager. I attribute these two things to getting me through that period and back on the road toward self-actualization. By the time I came to my senses I was about 290 lbs in mid 2011, but was able to more or less maintain that weight (give or take 20 lbs) for the next couple years.
This was fine at first, but I never got back into cooking. Worse, the demands on my time as staff made it easy to shift priorities around. Instead of focusing on getting back to cooking and exercising, I would just order food or pick it up somewhere and do staff work or play with the community. This is my own fault, I don't blame vVv for this, I should've made my health a priority the whole time, but chose not to. Ultimately my health got worse over this time period, with limbs falling asleep more easily, then occasional transient chest pain, and finally the difficulty breathing around the end of November. It was easy to ignore these little signs early on, but it's not easy to ignore the fact that you can't really breathe, or that you're having heart palpitations at night when you lay down for sleep.
So my schedule almost every night since December 1st is to come home, usually around 5:30 or 6:00 PM. Then I'll take a walk for an hour, clean dishes, and cook something healthy. By the time the cooking is done and I finish eating, it's usually 8:00 PM or maybe a little later. This is when things usually start in the community, inhouses, staff meetings, team practice, etc. So Monday nights I'm usually in staff meetings all night or staff meetings followed by app Meet'n'Greets. Tuesday I spend the whole night running in-houses, Wednesday is open but usually this is when I'll schedule pre-interviews, Thursday I have some liberty usually but sometimes things come up. Take last night for example, I was going to spend some time training b4rdo on how to do app manager things, but instead there was a last-minute sponsor event and I ended up participating in that since we were short players. Friday is the night I reserve once per week to just playing games, since if I don't actually just sit down and play LoL then I'll get burnt out and stop caring about managing the community or keeping vVv great.Saturday and Sunday tend to be open, but they also tend to be days I take care of chores for the week such as laundry, cleaning, trash, etc. plus all the things I have to do every day like cooking, walking, etc. I try to get to bed by 11 PM ready to go to sleep, since that's when you're body attempts to dump antioxidants (melatonin) and clear free radicals (important for healing) but usually it's closer to midnight.
Since most of my free time is on Saturday, it's unfortunate that my Dad had a cardiac event shortly after the new year and has been in the hospital all month getting and then recovering from a triple bypass surgery. I did take the long weekend to get caught up with a few things, but with Saturday being my free day every week I've usually been in the hospital with my mom visiting him most of the day. So this month in particular it's been difficult to keep up. In addition Mooch resigned as LoL Division Manager and Hinao is having personal issues that prevent him from executing his duties as App Manager, so I've been having to spend what free time I do have these days picking up those tasks or performing pre-interviews since our first wave of apps who came from the recruitment thread has finally reached the three-month mark. And I'll admit that I'm guilty of getting sucked into the new season hype and playing a bit more LoL than I should when I could find the time for my placement matches.
I do spend a few hours every day at work going through the forums to keep up with things, banning and cleaning up after spambots, and going through the staff email to screen applicants for our EI program, but another thing that happened this month is that work has gotten a bit more demanding of my time, so I've had to keep that to a minimum.
Mostly what I'm trying to accomplish on staff is set up training so that we can bring on new staff and delegate responsibilities more effectively. I have about two dozen TED talks circling my browser that I just don't have time to do anything with because if I focused on that then the LoL division would fall apart within a few months. There's also clarity issues with our current setup, such as the fact that we still reference Doomhammer's post regarding new apps, yet we no longer look at social media for most applicants (<50 follower/like counts) as a standard for how to get in. We miss out on a lot of potential interest and contributions because it's not clear enough that you can be a part of our community without really applying, such as Vultige or A10 Pilot. Yet these members still contribute something of value with their presence that makes the community better for everyone.
So please bear with me while I work to fix things at the pace that I can manage. I am still looking for a replacement LoL Division Manager, but it needs to be the right person, someone who is already a member, preferably plat or higher since they will need to focus on bringing in talent, I think we have people who fit that description already, but they are focused on other areas that are equally important (such as pherz's work on graphics, or wakai's focus on other areas). I'm especially concerned about waiting for the right person because of the recent management failures we've experienced. I trusted someone to replace me as SC2 manager without properly vetting him, and he ended up running a coup and taking the SC2 division away from vVv, erasing two years of effort that I put into building it up. Then this event was repeated just this past December when Legacyyy left to form his own organization and attempted to take the whole CoD division with him. I don't think I need any further evidence to make the case that the next LoL Division Manager NEEDS to be the right fit.
So I hope that clarifies what it is I've been doing on staff. I will try to post new entries as time permits describing some more of the day-to-day that's involved in keeping things running, my Dad will be home from the hospital this weekend and then I'll have my weekends free again. My health continues to improve as I stay focused on doing the things I need to. All good things, and good things will be coming to the LoL Division soon as well. I appreciate all the help you guys have been giving me, especially:
- Jiggy for running Thursday inhouses,
- Martic for gathering feedback from the community and putting in writing all the things we need to work on,
- Criss for moderating the forums and being a good idea machine,
- Mooch for the time he spent helping to run the LoL Division,
- Robz and the executive team for keeping vVv a great place to be,
- B4rdo for stepping up to become app manager
- and everyone else for all the daily contributions you make to keep this place great!
Welcome to the KICK.TV Invitational - Esports Changing?? - LIVE from NYC
This past week (20th – 25th) I took part as a full time analysis professional at the KICK.TV Invitational where the largest FIFA YouTuber’s battled it out in order to claim a $10,000 1st place prize and the title as “Champion” in NYC. Last year, this event erupted with popularity across the community as the audience watched with anticipation as each match went LIVE on YouTube with the top FIFA content creators facing off on the big stage.
The players attending this event:
Notorious (VG Winner)
My position with the event because of my personal background in the competitive FIFA scene was to laydown player previews / analysis of gameplay among the players in attendance. All the videos can be found at http://www.youtube.com/user/KICKTVFIFA - I’m expecting uploads to start going live towards the beginning of this week and roll out continuously from that point forward….
I wanted to showcase how “Esports” is a changing concept (Very Dynamic) depending on the audience for those different titles. FIFA is one of the largest selling titles each year worldwide and the community has expanded substantial amounts with the additional sales. In many titles there is an incredible fan base for “competitive” players, however in FIFA the players / event coordinators did a poor job of building up personal branding for those same individuals. This allowed for the vast amount of FIFA fans to look elsewhere and the development of FIFA YouTube came shortly after.
This event included no competitive FIFA players outside of the “Subscriber Cup Winner” from Virgin Gaming. (Notorious) The YouTuber’s add a different approach to Esports where the focus is more on the individual as opposed to the individual’s gameplay. Watching these matches live at KICK.TV Studios made me think, “Is this the future of my genre??”
FIFA gameplay in the competitive scene is so mistake free that it often leads to defensive matches between players attempting to outthink their opponents. This usually leads to low scoring matchups, because of the heavy possession / time control in each game. I obviously cannot speak about the results from the tournament, but this approach from KICK.TV makes huge strides in terms of viewership per match in the FIFA community scene.
So what if KICK.TV ran a new type of Esports? The most popular game mode in FIFA 14 is actually known as FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team) where players construct squads based on team chemistry with the usage of an open market that updates with real life football (soccer). FUT has never been used on the competitive side because of the unlimited customization and more unrealistic quicker games speed.
I leave this for thought… What is your definition of Esports?? What makes an Esport… an Esport?

I sit here, keyboard at my fingertips, and I'm trying to find the words to describe my last 7 days in L.A. Surely, going from looking at a sun soaked valley, to an iced stained window has its saddening attributes.
"Of all the things that wisdom provides for living one's entire life in happiness, the greatest by far is the possession of friendship." -Epicurus*. I cannot stress this idea more, finding people to truthfully call a friend is hard to come by. For me personally, I had never really experienced true friendship until now. Most of my past was filled with fizzled friendships which explains my inability to take something at face value. I hope this sheds some light on why I avoid people. I hope you didn't take it to heart, as my questioning as to what is implied in conversation drives me to insanity. Jerry was able to figure this out after asking me one single question,"Who do you consider to be your best friend?". I really didn't have an answer for this, I could not think of one person whom I've ever thought as a best friend. Before vVv gaming, I preferred a life of solitude as human interaction was as tedious for me as someone might feel when writing lines for bad behavior. Which explains why I always avoid petty conversation.
Small talk was probably the thing I hated the most. Due to its way of focusing on what people thought was socially right to say; rather than discussing about themselves or ideas. As a child, I tried creating conversations about ideas or about things learned. To my dismay, most kids and even parents thought I was a "know it all". I then understood that the discussion of ideas wasn't for everyone. So I spent most of my years in quiet solitude. Surprisingly, the small talk coming from people who are true to themselves is quite interesting.
What the vVv gaming HQ has shown me is that small talk between close friends is a way to find and explore more about each other. To laugh at each others quirks and help fix each others poor attributes. I believe vVv Gaming within itself is an extension of that.
Over the last week, my activity with the community has increased. I can say, I'm interested in how other people feel and interact. I enjoy helping others complete their goals and make something of nothing. What I didn't realize over the course of my lifetime is that I have a lot of empathy at my disposal. I'm able to sympathize with almost anyone, thinking of why they may feel this way or have done that. But as with my love for ideas, asking someone questions of why they are feeling a certain way and giving advice isn't within their best interest. So yes, most of my skills where for deeper human interaction then what was socially acceptable. The only way for me to actually use these abilities is when someone consciously comes to ask help from me.
The trip was definitely an enlightening one, not because of the hot California sun, but of Jerry's ability to really show who I really was. I hope, that by reading this you come to understand the impact that the people here at vVv gaming have on us. Take every opportunity vVv gaming gives you, it will be a rewarding journey for anyone brave enough to take the first step.
Good Luck in your vVv Gaming travels!
If ever you need to run an idea by someone, you know where to look.

chapter 4 (David)
Blood was running everywhere, covering the walls and the floors. Amy was staring at him screaming for help as he saw someone trying to grab her. "NOOO!" and in that instant she was bit and he couldn't stop it from happening nor save her. The room began to darken and in a flash the image of more blood was splattered everywhere as his mom's face began to fill his vision. The look of the lifeless eyes staring at him and in the moment of pure pain she fell to the ground and whispered, "you're the only one that can stop this." David couldn't take it anymore and screamed in his dream causing him to sit up straight screaming in reality.
"It was only just a dream," David kept muttering to himself. Sweat was running down his face and his breathing was more ragged. He looked around and noticed he was in his room by himself. Amy was no where to be seen. Pulling himself out of his bed he looked over at the alarm clock, 3:00 a.m. He turned over seeing a suitcase already filled with his things. "Amy must of woken up and packed for him" He thought to himself. He went over to his drawers and pulled out fresh clothes, changing into them then heading out of his room. He walked down the hallway and saw Amy who was on the couch in the living room staring out the window lost in thought.
"Heard you scream, you ok?" Trey came up behind him pulling more luggage with him. David blushed a little in embarrassment that everyone heard him scream. Trey snickered and pulled the rest of the luggage into the living room. Amy finally turned around tarring her eyes away from the window and walked over to David. She looked up at him with her big brown eyes and tip toed to whisper in his ear, "I had another one."
David could never really piece together what Amy would say. But ever since she was able to talk she would randomly stare in the distance blankly and begin mutter strange things. Sometimes it would be a language he didn't even know, but he was pretty sure it was gibberish. But then at other times it would always include him and someone else. She would always mutter, death, must win, and the demon. But yet he never knew what that met. Amy punched him in the arm snapping him out of his thought process and pulled on his sleeve. "David this time I got more," she turned to make sure know one was looking, "Its only happening in this state like a bubble and know one can escape."he looked at her dumbfounded and had nothing to say. Amy just kept looking at me as if she was serious. "What do you mean?" he finally asked. "I don't know, I just saw a bubble," Amy finally looked away, "lets go help Trey."
We all walked over picking up some luggage and carrying them out to the car. Its nice that we had a truck big enough to hold all our luggage. Its quite common to see trucks here down in Kansas. We finished loading up the truck as John walked out the house. John was acting slower then normal and a little sluggish. David instantly took notice and moved closer to Amy. "You able to drive?" David helped Amy into the truck. John pretty much just growled and stepped in to the front seat of the truck, bringing the truck to life. Trey moved over and got into the passenger side leaving David and Amy in the back seat.
The truck rolled back as john turned the truck to take off. David looked out the window as he saw his neighbors, or use to be neighbors walking around stumbling and moaning. Every time he saw a little kid he would turn back to Amy was sitting there just twiddling her thumbs in concentration. The truck was very quiet except for Johns constant coughing. They finally made it halfway out the city when a wheezing sound was escaping Johns mouth.
The truck began to swerve a little as they entered a tunnel. John was coughing more and more and soon he couldn't stop himself and turned the wheel completely causing the truck to nearly flip. The truck skidded to a stop as a loud pop sound came from the tires. The engine then began to smoke as the truck died on itself. David quickly jumped out the truck bringing Amy with him. Trey jumped out as well as everyone backed away from the Truck. John unbuckled his seat belt and opened the door collapsing onto the ground. He looked up at David with pain stricken eyes. John stood up and held onto the car for support, "Come here," he looked dead eye at David. "No" and David took a step back.
John began to laugh uncontrollably and looked at Amy. "Then you come here," Amy only whimpered and scooted back. "DAMMIT I SAID COME HERE!" and with that john whipped out the gun and shot upwards. John was huffing more not even paying attention to his step kids. "What the hell is wrong with you?" David held on closer to Amy, backing up into Trey. "Put the gun down," Trey tried to calm their step dad down. John just kept coughing and collapsed back to the floor. That's when David noticed he was coughing up blood and it wasn't red. "You were bit and didn't tell us," David was fuming. "You could've killed us all," rage began to boil within him. "Like I care what happens to you guys now, you're not even my kids."
That felt like a slap in the face to David. "Fu..." was all he was able to say as he heard Amy scream. David turned to where Amy was looking to see a hoard of the dead stumbling towards them. He ran over to John and yanked the gun out of his hands and aimed for the hoard. BAM, BAM, but it was no good there were to many of them. "RUN!" Trey yelled, but there was no way out on the other side of the tunnel were more of them closing in. Amy ran up to David and hugged him tightly. Trey moved closer to John, since he passed out. "What do we do?" Trey kept turning his head back and fourth.
David couldn't think of anything as the dead kept moving in from both sides. He fell to the ground lost without hope and began to mutter out dammit. That moment was when a loud engine began to fill the tunnel along with the moaning and groaning of the dead. A Big truck equipped with spikes plowed through the Dead and a young girl about David's age jumped out. She whipped out a shotgun and popped two of the dead in the head. "Well don't just stand there get in!" She yelled. David hopped up and ran towards the truck with Amy already climbing in and Trey following close behind. The girl hopped back in the truck with them and hollered out, "DRIVE" and the truck took off. David was breathing hard as he turned back seeing the hoard dive in on Johns lifeless body.
Another year and boy how things have changed. Some people know about some don't. A year ago I lived in darkness. Believing that hope and dreams were both impossible and unobtainable. I didn't think any of my friends were real, that anything anyone said was true, that any of my smiles were fake. In February of last year I was hospitalized for self harm. Believing the only thing that pain was my only comfort when I messed up. Diagnosed with clinical depression. Though the hospital did help it was still an uphill battle for me. Every day for many months was trying to find a reason I deserved to exist. Those months of darkness though slowly the light started to return. I realized many things that simply I was blinded too.
I learned who my true friends were and what they really meant to me. That no matter what they are there even if it's just to make me smile and laugh with them for a day. That I will always have them and my family who will have my back even when I make mistakes. My mistakes that I make are no longer something that keep me down, but how I learn. I'm not perfect no one is. Though coming from a place where I didn't believe that I could have a real smile, it's nice to have a real one.
I wanted to share this with my fellow vVv members for a few reasons. First I wanted to say thank you. When I was down here I made an entry wondering if I should just resign and quit being part of this community. What I got wasn't what I thought. I got others who offered an ear and help, something I didn't think would happen. For me this place is a family as well as community. I remember back when I first joined I was nervous as hell to be honest. I never thought it would come to the day when I would actually be staff, which I couldn't help but smile all day. That's why I needed to say thanks. Also, I notice a few people on here who seem down like I was. This is my offer to you if you do need just someone to listen go ahead and contact me. A way of me giving back what was offered me before. Here's to many more awesome times with vVv no matter the branch. Good luck in all you're gaming.
I may not be the best at words but for those of you out there who seem to be down or loosing hope. The road ahead of you may seem dark, but don't focus on how dark it is. Focus on the light no matter how small.
In the beginning, we were created. How or when we got here is not of importance. What matters is taking the first step of the journey.
I finished my placement matches the day after the season reset and ended up with a 5-5 win-loss ratio. I went from being Platinum III at the end of last season to Platinum V. Don't delay your placement matches! I know you want to know where you end up. Get those placement matches done!
I see a lot of people worried about their placements matches. "What if I end up in Bronze V!?" Then you end up in Bronze V. Don't be discouraged by your standing in the ladder. Challenge yourself to advance! You've played ranked before, you know how exhilarating it can be to advance to the next division. "Oh, I'll just wait until the bad players and trolls are done with the placement matches." There will always be trolls and bad players. Devote yourself to the match despite feeling an impending loss on the horizon. You will grow as a player as long as you keep and open mind and focus on improving. Perhaps the person who's doing bad isn't a bad player, and are simply having a bad game. It happens, we've all been there. Don't be judgmental on someone you're only playing one game with. Remember that time you fed? Of course you do.
This is my first blog entry and I hope there's many more to come. I'll will update this blog whenever I feel I've gathered enough insight playing League of Legends and can bestow my ideas and philosophies upon everyone. Feel free to leave any feed back. I'm open to criticism!
With the start of the new season comes the dreaded placement matches. A place where all your hopes and dreams get crushed... or will they? The following kit will give you the tools you need to survive the treacherous journey ahead. In this kit, you will find tips on optimizing for the win, champion selection and minimizing risk.
Optimizing for the Win
As humans, we have a limited amount of focus. Optimizing for the win means focusing on what will bring you the greatest chance of success. When we begin to focus on negative events, we OPTIMIZE for the loss. Do NOT confuse this with ignoring negative information. Such as, an on-coming gank or a tank focusing your adc. What follows, is where you decide to put your FOCUS. Do you focus on, “well, my adc sucks” or focus on HOLY SHIT my adc is getting slapped in the face and I need to go help him! Optimize for the positive outcome. Lingering on “what ifs” and “bad teammates” will only make you frustrated and cause you to make mistakes. Optimizing for the win means focusing on actions that will help you help your teammates do better.
Pff, that wasn't even close!
In order to avoid making mistakes in champion select, being prepared for most negative circumstances, and having a diverse champion pool is a must. Aim to be proficient in at least 2 champions for every role. This is the most IMPORTANT tool in your kit, without it, you will be very fragile to trolls, and other unfortunate circumstances.
Find a partner in crime. The buddy system is an effective way to overcome personal slumps and misgivings. Having a buddy to rely on to help each other up when the going gets tough will save you many a match. But the buddy system has much more to offer beyond minimizing your risk. It will make leading a team easier and open up opportunities for more complex and game changing plays.
Be WARNED, make sure you can rely on your partner. Simply because a friend is able to pubstomp in one game, does not mean he will do so for the remainder. Consistency is key and aim for those that make as few MISTAKES as possible. While also having an ability to either lead or follow the team. Make sure to find a reliable buddy before going on your ranked journey. Some criteria include;
How cool headed are they?
Do they take unnecessary risks?
Do they play the blame game?
Can they take criticism?
Can they follow or lead a team?
Do you enjoy playing with them?
An example of a duo's unlocked potential at leading teams:
While these tools won't guarantee better placements, they will help you play a better and more consistent game.
Being robust to change is key to overcoming the woes of Ranked play.
Chapter 3 (John)
"I've told you for the tenth time when im drinking to leave me the hell alone!" John reached his back hand and slapped Amanda hard causing her to fall to the floor. He knew by now he was drunk, but he didn't care he always liked feeling in power. Just the thought of Amanda cowering in fear with him in complete control always made his day. He knew that Trey, David, nor Amy would dare interfere them. They always thought it was just a normal argument. But to John it was a game and nothing more. He lost interest in Amanda for awhile now. Going around and sleeping with whoever he wanted.
John looked over at the door to make sure it was locked. "Get back up and tell me what I told you," John turned back to Amanda. Amanda only looked up at him and her eyes changed showing little fear. "No." John kept on staring at Amanda, "what did you just say to me?" John walked closer to her nearly only inches away. Amanda stood up and pushed John away, "I said no." John was beginning to stir with anger. Nobody tells him no. "Im taking the kids away and im leaving you, you are a danger to me and the kids, I want nothing to do with you," Amanda turned around and started to move towards the door.
John was beyond mad now he was blinded with rage. Nobody try's to take everything away from him. In that moment of blind rage he reached between the mattress of their bed and pulled out a knife. He then lunged forward and slashed the knife on Amanda's back causing her to fall back down. As soon as the first drop of blood hit the floor it was over. John kept slashing the knife repeatedly over Amanda, listening to her screams of pain and fear fill the room. With each strike the screams were becoming fainter and fainter till there was no more. John began to pant heavily as he regained himself. He looked down at his wife dead on their floor.
John kneeled before her and grabbed her letting her head rest on his arm. He pulled her closer in and started stroking her hair. "See now sweety this is why you don't make your hunny mad," he looked at her face covered in blood, "Don't worry I still love you I wont tell anyone what happened here." John began to smirk at the sight of what he just did. The weak don't deserve to live in this world, john thought to himself. John then threw Amanda back on the floor and stood up to go retrieve a fresh pair of clothes. He was trying to come up with a story for when the kids see this, but he was having a hard time thinking. As soon as he pulled his pants on he began to feel uneasy.
A slight moaning sound began to fill the room. "What the hell I thought I killed you," John was in shock as he turned to see Amanda starting to get back up. She was still bleeding again, but this time it was tainted black. Amanda opened her eyes to reveal that they were a deep red filled with rage and death. She lunged at John and in return he jumped back. He ran for the door, but Amanda was in the way. She started to shuffle closer to John moaning louder with each step she took. "Get away from me!" John yelled as Amanda lunged again, this time sinking her teeth into his arm and ripping out a piece of flesh. John screamed in pain and pushed Amanda away causing her to land on the floor. John reached for the drawers and pulled out a pistol blood was running down his arm and onto the gun, as he aimed up and fired into Amanda's head. The room went instantly quiet except for Johns heavy panting.
John left her there as he ran out the room and saw the door was wide open and someone was stumbling into the house. The man reached to the living room then took a whiff and smelled the blood on John's arm and began to moan. John instantly pulled the gun back out and shot the man. He fell to the floor and went silent. John went over and pulled the man into the closet from a force of habit. The floor was stained with black blood. John went back over and started to head over to the bathroom. "Trey," he panted, "Amy!" but it was silent. John went into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. He reached beneath the sink and pulled out some bandages. He also grabbed some peroxide to clean out the wound. John looked into the mirror and was extremely pale. He pour the peroxide onto his arm and winced as it stung. He then began to hear talking from outside the door as it sounded like Amy, Trey, and David talking in the living room. John was trying to finish up wrapping his bandage as he opened the door to his kids.
David was talking and in the middle of it John interrupted him, "we get out of the city and stay far away," He then turned and looked at Amy, "The weak won't make it through this world anymore." As soon as the words came out of his mouth the image of Amanda appeared for a split second. He kept looking at Amy in deep concentration as he was wondering why he thought of Amanda. And with that David moved closer to Amy as if he was going to strike his own daughter or something. "We leave by morning, pack anything that will keep us going on this trip, it's going to be at least a ten hour drive." And with that John turned and walked away back into his room. As he closed the door he sat down on the bed and started coughing into his hand. When he looked at his hand he saw a hint of black blood.
chapter 2 (david)
when I first walked into the house, not a noise was to be heard from. I looked over to the living room to see blood everywhere. I walked over to the blood stain and examine it only to find that it was tainted black. Someone in this house has been hurt, but who? I walked over into the kitchen and rummage through the drawers. Hoping to find something to protect myself with. The only thing I could find was a steak knife. "Well I guess this will have to do for now," I thought to myself. I gripped the handle tightly as I started to walk down the hallway.
The first door to my right was just a closet, but it was closed tight. As I started to walk by I heard a soft whine come from within. I drew the knife up high as I reached slowly for the doorknob. My hand began to shake and my breathing was becoming short. Suddenly the doorknob turned on its on and a tiny little Amy peeked out. "D-David I-is th-that you," she managed to stammer out. Amy then flew the door open and grabbed me in a giant hug. She then began sobbing uncontrollably muttering out, "there's so many there's so many." I hugged Amy back and looked directly into her frighten eyes, "Amy go to the living room and stay there, where is everyone else?" Amy looked up at me and began to tremble," They were moaning so loud outside I just ran in hid, I don't know where everyone else went," Amy sobbed again. I simply nodded and turned and began walking down the hallway some more.
The next door to my left was my brother Trey's room. Still holding the knife I reached for the doorknob and began to turn it slowly. When I opened the door I saw Trey holding a baseball bat ready to swing. "What the hell David I could've killed you," Trey dropped the bat on the ground. "Where's mom and John?" I asked. "Shit when all this started to happen I haven't seen them leave the room, I ran quickly to my room, but lost sight of Amy is she ok?" I nodded, "She's in the living room go stay with her I need to check on mom." I turned away from Trey and began walking to my mom's room.
I began to feel like something was really wrong. If Amy and Trey didn't get hurt then who did? I reached to my moms room and opened the door expecting my mom to be ok like everyone else. That's when my knees buckled and I fell to the floor. The sight was just to gruesome for me to handle. Tears rolled down my face and my stomach began to turn. There was my mom sitting perfectly still on the side of the bed. She looked directly at me and said nothing. A wheeze escaped from her mouth and she finally collapsed onto the floor. A knife was directly sticking out of her chest she was bleeding black blood everywhere. I finally got the nerve to stand up and move my stiff legs over to my now dead mother. She had turned while I was gone and then was killed. I saw a bullet hole through her head, "John must of shot her," I thought. Her eyes were a deep red color and she had cuts covering her from head to toe. But the one thing that was lacking was a bite mark. Mom had died probably from being stabbed to death. But who could've done it? With tears still rolling down my face I reached over and closed my mothers eyes and said my goodbyes right then and there. I had to be strong for Amy's sake.
I walked back out to the living room and saw Trey holding Amy trying to comfort her. "We need to get out of here," I simply stated. "yea and go where?" Trey looked up at me. I began to think of a place coming up with nothing to mind. "We go to the country side where your grandparents live," said a voice behind me. I turned to see John finishing tying a bandage on his right arm. "we get out of the city and stay far away," then he turned and looked at Amy, "The weak won't make it through this world anymore." The way he looked at Amy made me angry and I moved slightly closer to her. John had a pistol slightly hanging out of his front jean pocket. There was a blood stain on it as well, except it was red and not black. "We leave by morning, pack anything that will keep us going on the trip, its going to be at least a 10 hour drive," and with that being said john looked away and walked straight into mom's room not even looking at where her dead body was laying.
My mind went straight to the bandage. When did he get hurt? Even more how did he get hurt? I sighed and began to stumble slightly. So much was running through my head and I was starting to feel dizzy. Trey looked over at me with concern, "David you and Amy get some sleep, Ill stay up and watch the house ill wake you up in a few hours so you can pack." I simply nodded and turned towards Amy who finally got off of Trey. She was still shaking, but didn't say anything as she walked to my room. I knew she wouldn't be able to sleep well after something like this, and I think she knew this as well. I walked over to my room and simply climbed into bed. Amy followed next and cuddled up next to me. "David," she whispered. "Ya." "What happened to mommy?" Amy looked up. My chest began to hurt as I thought about what I saw. "Mommy is sleeping now and she won't be able to wake up." Amy quietly began to cry and moved closer into me. I wrapped my arms around her as I let her cry herself to sleep. I held her tight as the room began to get dimmer and dimmer. And finally I myself began to fall into a restless sleep.

Sup everyone WillyWooTang here again,
For this blog I am going to do this to help a fellow vVv Member in building a Gaming & Steaming Computer on a budget price, I decided to make this a blog so that it may help other members in the future so lets get started.
When making the best streaming computer you need 3 main items your CPU, Graphics Card, and to really turn it to a streaming beast your Capture Card.
When seeing the word "capture card" people think why should I get that my CPU & Graphics Card will take care of that. Here is the reason for this:
encoding video now goes to the dedicated capture card, so now this takes a load off your CPU. Because the
Video encoding is an extremely CPU intensive task, now this will reduce in game frame-rates when both are working together.
[*]now when recording the processed video will turn into smaller file sizes.
[*]record uncompressed video can easily hit 1GB/min making large file sizes which does not mean that much but a good capture card you’re able to record in a very high quality H.264 compressed format, which reduces file sizes allowing you to record more game footage yet doesn’t reduce video quality.
Now we all know that the CPU needs to be a fast part of your PC, this translate all the data that is being sent into your PC and sending it all into the correct place. If you choose to go on the cheap end your PC will not be able to be able to preform to the level that you need it to be able to which will cause choppy video, lagging in your PC performance (like click on something and wait 5min for it to open) and you already know the rest.
For all PC gamers out there we all know that we need a good Graphics Card. When having this you will not plug your streaming cables into this, that is what the capture card is for. Now this will provide any gamer with the best quality picture along a smooth flow of gaming unless you have a cheap CPU.
I have look and did my homework on what many people have determined the best of these 3 items for their price:
Capture Card: AVerMedia C985 Live Gamer HD 1080p Capture Card $180
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K $321
MSI GeForce GTX 670 PE OC 2GB $380
All prices will very, these are rounded for all stores not just one.

In an attempt to get to know the other players/members of vVv better - those who don't play in my respected division, I've decided to branch out and talk to these players. I've always been interested in not only the people in a community, but also how they came to be in the community, the hows, whys, what ifs.
Q&A with vVv NaturaL
Ahryse: How did you first become interested in vVv? What keeps you around?
vVv Natural: I didn't apply to vVv until February of last year. I've known about vVv since their beginning, because I was a Gears of War player growing up. That's what got me involved in the competitive scene and how vVv started. What made me apply and interested in becoming a vVv member, was improving myself as a gamer. At the time, I didn't really play Call of Duty - it was actually the last game I wanted to play. But unfortunately it's the only console game that's played competitively. The community is a big bonus too, you get to meet people and play with new people. Overtime, I wanted to be on staff and learn about the eSports scene in general. I started following League of Legends a lot more and MMOs as a whole. I got interested in the eSports scene, which is what I like to do now. I'm always learning about what's big, what's coming out and how the business side of eSports works.
Ahryse: If you followed vVv for so long, what held you back from applying earlier? Did vVv just not have a division you were interested in?
vVv Natural: No it really wasn't that, because vVv had Halo, Rainbow 6 and Gears, which were all games I'd played competitively over the years. Back when Gears had just started and picked up by the competitive scene, when vVv had just started, I was in another clan/organization which lasted about a year and a half. At the end of it, I was really burnt out and didn't want to be involved with a large group of people. Some of my friends from that organization went to vVv. Due to this, I was around vVv even though I wasn't a part of the community or a member. In the meantime, I just played with my friends from school and my team. A few years went by and I wasn't playing with anyone and wasn't playing competitively anymore since Halo 4 died, which led me to applying for vVv's Call of Duty division.
Ahryse: Is Call of Duty the only big FPS console game played competitively?
vVv Natural: Right now, yeah. Console gaming was made successful because of Halo. MLG got big through Halo. It really took off Season 2 of Halo 2 and by the time Halo 3 came out, you started seeing the big sponsors like Dr. Pepper partnering with MLG. In my opinion, Halo is the reason MLG is where it is today. Without Halo, MLG probably would have never gotten big enough to include Starcraft. Halo Reach was an awful game which slowly killed the competitive scene. When Halo 4 was released, it stayed in the competitive scene for about 6-8 months before the money disappeared. This left Call of Duty as the only FPS in the competitive scene that was even relevant as a console shooter.
Ahryse: Is the upcoming Halo expected to be better than its predecessors?
vVv Natural: Unfortunately that's not really how console gaming works. Usually the original is always better than its sequels. Take Unreal Tournament for example. Unreal Tournament was amazing, but by the time it got to Unreal Tournament 3, it was atrociously bad.
Ahryse: Oh so what about Battlefield, it doesn't have any competitive scene? Oh no, you're laughing!
vVv Natural: Think about that for a moment. You've played Battlefield before right?
Ahryse: No, but I used to be part of a community where it was hugely popular, so I thought it seemed like a good choice for the competitive scene.
vVv Natural: There's two different sides to Battlefield. It's an awesome game to most people because there's nothing else like it. You literally get to run around a map in tanks, airplanes and choppers and blow things up. But because of that it can never really be competitive, only because it would basically be vehicle warfare. I'm not saying it wouldn't take skill, but it wouldn't be ranked competitively. Everyone would be camping for vehicles. They've tried running tournaments without vehicles, like 2v2, 5v5 but it's not big. Its just not a competitive game, because the maps are too big and player movement is choppy. Actually, now that I think about it, pretty much no console game was made for competitive play except for maybe Halo 3. So yeah, there are too many things about Battlefield that are buggy, broken or just wouldn't fit into a competitive atmosphere.
Ahryse: Will the competitive scene for Call of Duty: Ghosts drop and revert back to the previous title?
vVv Natural: Call of Duty releases a new expansion every year and everyone follows the new title. So Black Ops 2 isn't even played anymore. I'm really looking forwards to Titanfall or Destiny. Those two games could possibly replace Call of Duty in the competitive scene.
Ahryse: That was going to be my next question! Are there any other console games that could be played competitively outside those two?
vVv Natural: In the near future, that's about it. Those are the only two hopefuls - possibly with Halo. But they really screwed themselves with Halo 4, so we'll see what happens.
Ahryse: Why did you decide to join the vVv staff?
vVv Natural: When Addiction rose to Vice President of Operations, Call of Duty Assistant Manager became vacant. BlackStarr was the current Call of Duty Manager at the time and when he announced the position was open, I thought I would be a perfect fit. When I got it, I found I enjoyed the staff work and being involved with vVv. I was able to be more involved with the community. When you're on staff, you need to know who everyone is as far as members goes. When I was Assistant Manager, I did a really good job keeping up with applicants, I knew who just about every applicant was. I tried to know who they were, what they did, why they were in vVv, what they liked to do, etc. I like to get to know people on a personal level. I tried to do that with the staff as well.
Ahryse: What would you say your biggest challenge has been since being on vVv staff?
vVv Natural: I would say... It's a combination of a few things. A personal challenge was getting used to the fact that I didn't have time to play competitively anymore. I also had to grow into my role and learn to be a leader. I mean, I've been captain of a few sports teams, but having a whole division of 20-30 guys looking to you [and BlackStarr], it was stressful sometimes. You want to make sure what you do is right. I want to make sure if I'm going to put something out, it's 100%. I don't want to have any second thoughts or anything like that. I needed to make sure I made enough time to interact with everyone while still completing my staff duties. It was a complete turnaround from what I was used to as a gamer.
Ahryse: How would you say you learned to be a leader?
vVv Natural: I had a lot of good help. I've always had a really good idea of people. I'm really good at talking to people one on one, especially because I can usually tell in someone's voice whether they do or don't get something. I learned from both Addiction and BlackStarr, they're both really good at what they do. They know how to talk to people, how to make something sound right.
Ahryse: What did you do in the instances that you felt unsure or weren't confident in what you were doing?
vVv Natural: Jerry has always been really open, as with Addiction and BlackStarr. If I ever had any questions, I would always go to them without any hesitation, because they would answer to the best of their ability. Obviously there are instances where they'd make me figure it out on my own, maybe put a different spin on it. You can't have someone always giving you all the answers, sometimes you need to be able to think for yourself.
Ahryse: What do you enjoy most about being on staff?
vVv Natural: Knowing you're a part of such a great and growing community. You're involved in the growth of vVv and the direction it's going in. You're involved in helping make it successful. I've learned a lot about eSports, business and just life in general. One of the advantages about being on staff is you get to know Rob and everybody. Everyone on staff is really smart, so you get to learn so much. You learn things about certain things that maybe you previously didn't have any interest in. You get to talk to Jerry a lot more - and Jerry's probably one of the smartest guys you'll ever meet in your entire life. I swear to God, he's wicked smart.
Ahryse: What have your learned from your cumulative time with vVv, as an applicant, member and staff member?
vVv Natural: Just from being in vVv in general, I've learned its crazy how you can bring so many people together who all share a common interest and learn so much. What brings everyone in vVv together is we all love games, playing games together, being around and learning about games. So it brings a large group of people in, then friendships and bonds are formed, which may even be stronger than the bonds you have in real life. It all comes from our love of gaming. Its hard to have that type of connection with somebody.
Ahryse: Do your family and friends know about vVv?
vVv Natural: My mom does. I don't even tell my dad about it. He would never understand this whole scene. He's so old school, he doesn't understand the growth of video games and all the opportunities that comes with that.
Ahryse: Your mom knows, does she understand or support you?
vVv Natural: No, neither one of my parents really supported me. My mom hates the fact I do stuff like this, but she's more understanding to a certain extent.
Ahryse: Was having your family be unsupportive of gaming ever something you had to contend with?
vVv Natural: Pretty much after I got my first 360, everything gaming-wise after that I paid for by myself. It's funny because my parents always supported me in baseball and basketball. But they never really supported me in video games. So if you think about it, what's the difference between me playing video games and making money off that versus playing basketball or baseball. I never got the support for the one thing I really loved to do. It's just ironic.
Ahryse: What do you think is the biggest thing separating vVv from other communities?
vVv Natural: Definitely success. We're extremely successful in pretty much everything we've been involved in. Our nickname is the 'talent factory' because we've produced so many talented players who got their start at vVv or grew to the point that they were a top player or in the top 32 players in their respective game. We had 12 of the top 18 Gears of Wars players get their start at vVv. There are no other communities like this one. Simply because not a lot of communities are also an organization. They're not around the height we are. I mean, we have a challenger LoL team. There's so much hype around that, it gives our community something to get around, support and root for. I can't even think of other communities that do that. There are other organizations who have teams, but they don't really have communities behind them.
Ahryse: What are your 2014 goals for vVv, outside the Year of Talent?
vVv Natural: It's hard to say, because most of my goals are involved with talent. Ideally, I would like to get really good Call of Duty players back into the vVv scene. I want to help vVv grow from a business standpoint, learn from Rob and see if I can help him with ideas or pitches. As a whole, my number one thing is to help make the Call of Duty division better. Even with League, I want to help get better players. Something I personally want to do, is grow the community on a talent level. On a personal note, I want to improve as a person. I want to better myself and make my life a little bit better.

While the media Bashes how gaming is bad for you and is harmful to the body and mind , Is gaming really that bad for you ? In my opinion gaming can actually help you in many ways . Gaming can open doors you may never thought would be there. When I started gaming I only dreamed of going to an MLG Event much less placing top 40 at one . Without gaming I would never have met many of the friends I have now , I have a friend In Just about every state you can think of , Maybe not Alaska . I have also learned that you don't have to be the best to win , Just have the best Internet or a LAG switch I kid I kid. . Gaming also teaches that there is a higher goal and with strict practice and focus you can get there , You must have self discipline and Passion to get better and you can achieve anything .(and Alot of GFuel to get you through those late night practices ) . The gaming industry now makes more money than Hollywood. And Who ever said that there's no money in gaming ? , Next time a jock laughs at you calling you a nerd just remember someones gotta buy the game you make.
Not exactly an essay just some thoughts
The Year of the Talent
What’s happening beautiful people?? I’m ready to return to blogging with a set schedule… Most of my previous entries describe experiences at different events around the world and my recollection of those trips. From this point forward I will be writing “Bi-Weekly” blogs talking about competitive FIFA, esports in general, and different life situations that correlate with gaming.
Starting out fresh with a new year, I’m expecting considerable changes with the vVv organization in terms of additional sponsorships, new focal points on bringing in identified professional players, and just overall growth of the organization. I’m also looking to get much more involved in contributing to vVv in more ways outside of just representing the team as a sponsored professional including the expansion of my personal brand development and transitioning into finding a role in our staff that I can effectively help the organization.
So what’s new for competitive FIFA in 2014? Virgin Gaming has teamed up with ESPN to host events, while also running a major qualifier that offers the opportunity for pros to get more involved through social media with “The Kick.TV Invitational Tournament.” ($10,000) The issue with these qualifiers is Virgin Gaming is using a leaderboard system which benefits the players that play the most but aren’t necessarily the best players, therefore a lot of the household names in terms of the FIFA esports scene refuse to take part. Playing 10 hours per day to compete with the Virgin Gaming crazies isn’t possible for most competitive players.
Promoting website numbers by increasing how many matches are played on the site through prizes based on leaderboards might be good for statistics, but in my opinion it hinders the competitive community in the long run. Tournaments lose credibility when the most respected players or new players who are rising in prestige are not taking place in the large tournaments because of structure.
As for vVv Gaming welcome to “The Year of the Talent”, which has me extremely excited as a fan of watching the best players compete across titles. We have really built up our community over the years and it’s time to invest in the best while developing more players going forward.
Drop a comment, with a topic for the next blog… I wanted to get back into this with a quick reintroduction to the year before diving in with the heavy debates.

“The best index to a person's character is how he treats people who can't do him any good, and how he treats people who can't fight back.” ~Abigail Van Buren
We meet new people every single day, and we get to know people that are already in our lives better every day. When we first meet people we generally judge them on one of two things: their looks or their personality. Personality is something that we have all become experts at seeing and reading. Whether a person is funny, introverted, extroverted, shy, energetic, optimistic, confident, lazy, pessimistic, or bubbly we know that and we can generally see that within moments of meeting someone. When we come to the conclusion that an individual has any of these personality traits it is usually because we have amassed a good amount of information about that person and are generally right about them.
Character is different and is something that cannot be determined on such short notice. The character traits of an individual take much longer to reveal themselves. These traits include honesty, virtue, kindness, and loyalty. Character traits come from a combination of beliefs, virtues, and morals. Generally these are instilled in us as children, and while they can change from time to time as we grow and mature, often times the character traits we learn as children stick with us throughout our lives.
For some people this can be a good thing. Being a kind, loyal, and honest person is something that any person should feel proud to carry with them from the time of being a young child until the day they die. It is when someone does not learn these good character traits as children and they grow up without them that we end up with such a mixed bag throughout our society today.
I have actually lost track of the number of friends I have lost in my lifetime, most of which have been the result of poor character on their part. I cannot place all of the blame on others, because I know I have both personality and character flaws of my own, but loyalty to my friends has never been one of those flaws for me. I have always been loyal to my friends, almost to a fault at times. There can certainly be a point where one can become too loyal which results in being almost overbearing, which I am certainly guilty of.
I could spend every day with my friends; I couldn't spend every day with all of them because we all naturally would get sick of our friends if we saw them every single day. I could spend a lot of time with them though and live an extremely happy life because of that; loyalty does not run that deep with everyone though. I have had 3 or 4 different periods in my life where I thought I had the best friend a guy could ever ask for. Then in an instant those friendships became obsolete, mostly without explanation.
This brings up another character flaw that many people suffer with: honesty. It can be hard to be honest with people, especially people that we really care about. Sometimes people will let their lack of honesty come in the way of a great friendship or even a loving relationship because they are just unable to say what needs to be said. As I said before, I have been overbearing as a friend before, I recognized that fault of mine. I had to come to that realization on my own, because the friends that felt that way never could be up front and honest enough about it with me to tell me. So while often times I would and still do occasionally sit around and beat myself up over lost friendships that I may have contributed to the destruction of, I cannot beat myself up over the character flaws of other people.
I can only work on myself as an individual, which is what everyone should strive to do every single day. Strive to become a better person, and strive to build character traits that other people dream of finding in a friend. You may lose friends along the way, and it will be hard when that happens. The important thing is to stick to your guns because if you believe you have strong character and that you are truly a good person, others will see that, and the ones that do see it and really appreciate it could become the best friends that you could ever ask for. Never let the negative character flaws in another individual dictate your life and the way you choose to live; make people acknowledge and respect the positive character traits that you have developed over your lifetime.
“Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.” ~ John Wooden
Xbox 1 and PS4 Controllers For Sale! HAHA just joking!!
TO ALL GAMERS WHO OWN Xbox 1 or PS4:
There are no controllers for your console out there that are made by Scuf Gaming!
I do know this due to the fact that was talking them on a sponsorship for this community and the sponsorship team still has not placed a link to get sponsored yet. But when talking to this representative as soon as said Xbox 1/ PS4 they told me they are not out or anything, so all the pics that may look like them or anything are just regular 360 and PS3 controllers online are just regular controllers. To make sure this was correct I searched the entire sales section of site and no where is there a picture or word that mentions the Xbox1 and PS4 controllers. If you wish to find stuff that mentions controllers for these consoles is in the forums by members of the site. When looking at these forums I saw that half of the people said yes that the controllers that are being sold now WILL work on the newest consoles but then the other half say no that they WILL NOT work.
So what ever you may think you saw, seen, and heard about are not true. I hate to say it but that is the way it is, now that we all have the newest consoles out there we wish to have the newest controller but Scuf has not made any or show people any as of now.
Yeah this was a short blog but I am just typing what I hear or see,
please remember all this is my opinion and do not reflect upon the stuff I write about.
Thank you in reading,
Please leave all suggestions, comments that you have so I can make better blogs in the future.
and if you can follow my blogs and get all the newest things I add asap.

OK, when all real gamers thing of Scuf they think of the coolest and kick ass controllers for all systems in the world, well to me it does.
To me with this New Ghost Hybrid Controller have been their coolest things I have ever seen, now these controllers when you first get them are just look like a normal controller but trust me they are NOT YOUR AVERAGE CONTROLLER.
The New "Limited Edition SCUF Ghost Hybrid" controller has a fully transforming 2-stage thermal color changing paint, this controller magically reveals 2 x half ghost faces on the left and right handles as you are playing, this means as you are playing the hands make the faces appear as heat is applied through contact with the hand. Yeah I know that is a lot of stuff for a controller, and this is just the front So what else do they have?
A custom hand made 3D silver ghost skull encased in clear guide button.
Standard bright white LEDs, smoke buttons, Ghost paddles and are colored GHOST: if you can not read that its blue
The truly amazing thing is each controller is hand crafted using an 8-stage hand painted process and is truly unique!
All controllers come with the standard controller customization set up including: 2 or 4 paddles, the mapping ability, back hand grips, stoppers and everything else. (My hands are getting tired)
NOTE: For all you PS3 players, you can get these for you console to! Click Here To See:
At this time all controllers are starting at $148 and they are OUT OFF STOCK and unless you reserve on of these controllers you may not get one unless you buy it off of ebay.

I was only 4 at the time when my family and I were stationed in Guam. I live with my grandparents and at the time my grandpa was active duty. A little bit about Guam when I was there at the time is that it was always warm. Since Guam is out in the tropical ocean storms tend to role in from time to time. The beach was only 5 mins away from my house. And you knew practically everyone from how small the island is. Well I have two little experiences from this small island.
I wasn't going to complain about staying here. It was nice and warm and I made plenty of friends. Well see Guam isn't that far from Japan I suppose. so we saw quite a bit of Japanese people here. Before we got our temporary home we stayed at a hotel where this one Japanese lady took a liking to me. I guess she just loved children or something. But each and every single day she would stop by and give me a present. Between stuffed animals to candy to little knick knacks. This went on for a year and as a little child I wasn't going to stop her.
Another thing to know when I was younger I was a reckless child. Always trying to do things I probably cant do. Well at the time my Grandpa was deployed out, it was probably a month into it. When I started to miss him. Its never fun not knowing what's going on with someone you cant contact that you care about. Well at the time a storm was rolling in. But this storm turned out to be a typhoon. Depending on how long the typhoon has been out in the ocean is how strong it is when it hits land. Well this one turned out to be a category 5 typhoon. Now I don't remember how much I weighed but I was pretty light at 4. Well I believe that second wave of winds which are the strongest was when I decided to make my move. I simply was feeling very alone not knowing where my grandpa was, so I simply walked outside. I only made it about maybe 5 steps when I noticed something. My feet weren't on the ground. Yep, I was actually beginning to be lifted off by the typhoon. This only lasted for about 5 seconds though when someone reach up and grabbed me. I was pulled back in dripping wet from being outside and the door was wide open still. That's when we heard a big cracking sound and saw part of a tree hit the spot I was just in. Me being reckless almost made a bad accident happen. And for some reason that experience will never leave me since I can still remember it so clearly. Sometimes things will just always stay with you.
The above video is just a portion of what started me on my hand positioning adventure. Initially, I was on a mission to re-program my fingers to a more efficient position for League of Legends. My hands naturally position themselves on ASDF and JKL; , as soon as I place my hands on the keyboard. Which means this is how I've played League of Legends for the past... 3 1/2 years now. Mind you, the keybindings for LoL were the same, QWER, I just moved my fingers up and down. ASDF was the rest position, where my fingers 'rested' when not pressing skills. Recently, I changed this habit to a natural position of QWER - what most would call the 'correct' position. It was really difficult. On paper, it seems like an easy thing, but it was extremely frustrating. I kept pressing 1234 keys, since I was so used to moving my fingers upwards to press keys. Hence... I'd often not be using any skills when I thought I was! Very aggravating. I admit, I gave up and went back to my old habits a couple times.
Now that I have the new positioning ...mostly, under control, there's new problems. /facedesk/ At ASDF, my pinky naturally rests on shift but at QWER, my pinky naturally rests on CAPS. That's a problem! I can't use attack-move (shift) because it feels super awkward but... maybe that's more something I need to get used to. We'll see. I still have problems pressing R for some reason, you'd think it'd be really simple seeing as its simply one key to the left of E, but more often than not I find myself hitting 3, 4 or sometimes overshooting to T. Ctrl is pretty much impossible for me to even use in conjunction with any other button. It's way too awkward for the new positioning, but since I'm used to using my left 'alt' key for PTT, I've changed my level up to 'alt+QWER' which has been game-changing for me.
At this point, I'm wondering how people use so many hotkeys in MMOs. Shift and Ctrl are pretty much out of the picture, which leaves me with alt and a handful of other keys. I did try using alt + MB3+, to my chagrin it didn't work. I thought I really had something there.
I have small hands, which I believe is part of the issue, but I'm starting to think maybe its more the keyboard is too big, rather than thinking 'I am too small'. As I'm unable to experiment with/obtain different keyboards, this led me on a hunt of 'LoL hand positions'. I did find others who positioned their fingers on ASDF, which made me feel a lot better about this inefficient positioning of the last 3 years!
What I found was this:
[P - Pinky finger, R - Ring finger, M - Middle finger, PI - Index finger, T - Thumb]
[R]A [M]W [PI]D
[P]A [R]S [M]D [PI]F with G/H as summoner spells (this is way too awkward for my hand span unfortunately)
[P]A [R]S [M]D [PI]F with E/R as summoner spells and Q/W for item actives (I thought this was awesome until I tried moving my pinky up and down and instantly hated it. ;; )
QWEDF [With E & D pressed by the same finger] (I actually liked this one, except I'd change it to E, D, F pressed by the same finger. That's more comfortable for me.)
QWERTYDFX (This was a really interesting one! Y may as well be on the other side of the world though. I really dig using ZXCVB but it feels... too close? especially using alt as PTT. I actually use ZXCVB in SWToR but my hands are on 123, so it feels more natural. I may experiment with it though.)
[P]A/Z/tab [R]Q/W [M]E/D [PI]R/F [T]Space (This one was so weird, I was confused trying to do it! Not the one for me, but hey if it works for one person, its bound to work for someone else!)
IJKL, UIOP spells, JK summoners, 67890 items [For lefties!]
[P]tab [R]1 [M]2 [PI]3/4; F1-F4 for skill level up
[P]Z [R]X [M]C [PI]V
Naga mouse (All your skills bound to your millions (slight exaggeration) of side mouse buttons with minimal keyboard use. I can't see myself doing this personally, but it may work for someone else.)
I'd be really interested to see what the finger lag time is for each different hand position. Not counting a person's individual reaction time, but how long it takes them to press the key or move a finger to the correct key. See what seems to work the most efficiently for small/big hands or if all works effectively with minimal (hundredth of a second etc) lag time for each position. There would be factors like hand span, keyboard size, familiarity of a position, moving up or down, etc. I would imagine any key you have to move your finger to would create some lag time in comparison to those who have their fingers directly on the keys or very close by.
What I'm thinking now is using C/V for summoner spells, and MB5, 2, 3 for item actives. I'd prefer to switch attack move to left/right click, but I'm not sure if that's possible. I'm also toying with the idea of using XCVB for self/party target but then I'm not sure where I'd put summoner spells. Maybe 1, 2? Easier to go up than down, in my opinion. Since you can see where your fingers are going and I think it feels more natural. I'd love to use Self Cast/Party Target hotkeys (haven't been using them at all so far), I just need to find a viable finger-friendly key to bind them to!
My questions for you!
How do you position your fingers?
Do you use Self Target and Party Target hotkeys, if so which ones?
Chapter 1 (David)
Everything was swirling around him turning his vision to a blur. His breathing began taking the form of ragged puffs while his leg felt as if someone had poured hot oil on them. Anger continued to boil over him, blinding him with rage. To think he had to live with him, a guy who treated everyone so poorly, he just couldn't take it anymore.
Finally his legs began to give and buckle until my movements became, but a hobble. he looked around to see where his flight had taken him. He recognized the area immediately; it was his neighborhood next to the forest. The place was decent enough, it had everything nearby and everybody knew each other. Yet no one knew who my step dad really was, how could they? I looked around for a place to sit, only to find a big white rock covered In moss. I walked over by it and sat on top of it trying to catch my breath. The smell of pine wood made it easier to think clearly. As his mind began to clear, he started to ponder what caused him to run in the first place.
He was walking home like any other normal day from school. At the time his smile was really noticeable on his face. His sixteenth birthday had finally arrived. As he stepped inside his house, something was very wrong. His brother Trey who had recently turned eighteen a few days ago, was next to his little sister. Amy so young at the age of five was huddled into their brother. Trey looked up at him with sad eyes. And that's when David's smile began to vanish. And at that moment he knew that he was the cause of this, he who causes so much pain in this household.
David ran upstairs calling for his mom, but to no avail only silence greeted him. He then ran back downstairs and called out for his mom again. "David, you won't hear from her," Trey whispered out. David turned around and stared at Trey and a whimpering Amy. David walked over to them and picked up Amy off of Trey's lap. He held her tight in his arms and in response Amy began to relax.
Amy and him had a bond like no other siblings. Besides sharing a birthday, Amy was just always full of joy. She always knew how to calm him down and put a smile on his face. He looked into her big brown eyes only to see sadness in them. This only made him feel angry towards his step dad. His step dad whenever he came home, he would always have an angry look on his face. He would then take David's mom to the back of their room and close and lock the door behind them. Then all you would hear is crying and yelling. It never ended well for his mom. he looked at Amy and kissed her on the cheek then gently set her back down on Trey's lap and turned to walk back out the door.
"Something bad will happen to that man, I just know it," David clenched his fist tightly till they turned red. His brother looked at him still holding on to our sister very closely. "You know mom will get worried when she sees your not home for dinner," Trey kept staring at me. "Better go out then do anything stupid back here," David looked at his brother then to his mom's door. "I mean why is she still with him?" he looked back over to where Amy was sitting, "stay safe and you know I love you," he tried to smile for her. Amy smiled that precious smile he always loved and answered back, " love you to big brother." David then turned away not even looking back and ran outside.
He sighed, and looked at his watch. Best be heading back home now David thought to himself. Amy might be worried sick to where he is at, he sighed again. David jumped off the rock and brushed the moss off his jeans as he started to head back home. He looked up at the sky which was a weird pinkish red. As he kept on walking he began to feel very anxious, as it someone was following him. He began to pick up his pace a bit, yet the feeling never went away. It actually started getting worse. David finally looked back to see a tall man standing a few paces behind him. The man was still hidden in the shadows partially so it was hard to see him clearly. Then the man began to moan and stumble towards him. David's scream only lasted for a few seconds as the man slowly kept getting closer.
That's when the smell hit him causing his knees to buckle making him fall to the ground. It smelled like decaying flesh that has been out in the sun for weeks. The smell was strong and musky which in response cause David to gag. He looked up at the man to see that he was missing right arm at the elbow. He also had his clothes torn up and was missing a part of his flesh to his thigh. Bits of flesh was torn out in other places as well. When he looked into the man's eyes they were blood red almost black. As he continued to stare at the man, He appeared to be even closer to David then before causing him to panic. David turned to look for anything he could use to defend himself. Nothing looked useful. Lost in concentration for a weapon the man finally reached to David and fell on top of him. David yelled and tried punching the man in the face, in response he growled a deadly growl at him and tried to bite his neck. David then punched him again and he fell to the side. He then stood straight up and found a stick over to the left of him that looked sturdy enough that it wouldn't break and grabbed it. The man then got back up moaning as he outstretched his arm towards David. In response David threw the stick into his chest. The man stumbled a little bit then moaned again and moved closer to him. " What the hell, why won't you die!" He reached for a rock he saw nearby and bashed his head in. Black blood spewed out all over David's clothes and all over the ground. The blood smelled even worse then the decaying flesh which knocked the wind out of him as he fell back to the ground. He looked over to the guy he just killed and he began to panic once more. Did he just kill that man? No he was already did, wasn't he?
He couldn't believe what happened, like that stuff only happens in movies or stories. And then the smell hit him yet again, but only it was farther out. David looked forwards towards the tree line to see more of them coming out. Walking and stumbling over each other. They moaned and groaned and moved so slowly. Some were missing arms or legs, or jaws and eyes. Blood oozed out from open wounds. There seemed to be hundreds of them coming out. But what struck him the most was the little girl in front of them all. She had pieces of hair missing and her right hand too. Her stomach was ripped open dragging her insides behind. On her back was a torn up teddy bear. He stood up with tears in his eyes. That little girl looked a lot like Amy.
And that's when it hit him, not Amy. He have to get back to her. He turned and began to run back home, hoping nothing bad had happen to her or the rest of his family. The closer he got to his house the more of the dead he saw. Friends and neighbors that were once alive all dead roaming the streets eating whatever they can get their hands on. David finally reached to the front yard of his house only to see the front door open. And between him and the front door was at least ten of those dead people. He had to get inside somehow without letting the dead notice him. He turned to his left and saw another rock smaller then the one before. He picked up the rock and looked over towards the metal trash can at the end of the curb. He then chucked the rock at the trashcan which made a loud clanging noise. The dead then turned towards the noise and started shuffling there way towards the trash can. David waited a few seconds before moving slowly towards the front door. when he reached the front door a cold chill hit him real hard causing Goosebumps to form all over. It was dark inside and not a sound came from within. He just hoped that nothing bad was waiting for him inside as he took his first few steps back into the house.
I'm not quite sure if anyone has noticed, but my blogs have stopped. I haven't lost hope or motivation, but I have not been able to sit down at my computer very much. The holidays are absolutely destroying me schedule wise. 40 hrs a workweek + family coming and going non-stop has put a halt to my blog writing.
League weekly will be back. I will pick up right where I left off with s4 changes. Once the holidays clear up I'm going to be writing with renewed vigor, so get ready.
Lots of roster changes to the teams in the Competitive Ghost scene...Who made the best changes? Whos looking to be on top now?
I have mixed feelings about who will be on top. Ive always liked Parisite, but not sure if there roster changes are gona work...it looks like Impact all over again. and everyone knows the problems they had before.
What about Optic? Or Envyus? Or Complexity?
Should be interesting for sure for the up-coming tournament at UMG Philly.
Things always change for sure. What does everyone think?
