It's the same kind of feeling I get listening to a washed up CS 1.6 player lecturing me on eSports,- a kind of astonishment that he was so determined to shrug off the fact that he wasn't a heavy hitter by any means necessary, a kind of smug bravado in defiance of all common sense, a...determination to protect the ego intact by cocooning it in fantasy and denying, if necessary, that the sky was blue, the earth was round, and other people matter... It's a kind of...immaturity, I guess, that I only tolerate in teenagers, and even then only for a short duration. It makes them small to me. Delicate. Weak. Vulnerable. Like untempered steel. Brittle. I wonder if that's how other people feel? Like me, can you scent the blood in the air, and, like any apex predator, your instinct is to cut them out of the herd and rip their throats out, too?
